Great game plagued by terrible ui/loot design and far to many bugs.

And a city they somehow managed to make beautifull and "feel" alive but in the end, dead and hollow.

That's what happens when you spend 8 years tailoring graphics and actors instead of making a game with playable mechanics that matter and , in the end, actually give the player freedom of choice. In CP77 (can't speak for the witcher because i didn't like that one either gameplay wise as an rpg and I ditched it after 45 hours) you are played by the game, you're not playing the game and you have that constant feeling of the director watching over you waiting for you to chose the next line. You actions don't matter, the city doesn't respond to your presence in any meaningful way, there's no immersion, there's 4 freacking mechanics period splatted all over the game and every mission, no need to plan anything since you just go there following the esclamation marks and do shit, oh and all this in Very Hard , that just makes enemies thougher. Enemies that spawn triggered when you pick up a abody and when they start fighting they get trashed by their own Gang memeber just because the game doesn't recognize them as members of that gang (because they spawned you know) etc etc etc. How this game got so much higher scores is beyond me. It's an 8 and being generous just because fropmm a movie perspective is almost perfect. From a videogame perspective it's around 6. I guess if I wanna play an rpg I have to go back to Obsidian's Pillars of Eternity or any other game from Bethesda or Larian's. Again, next time LESS GENITALS AND MORE GAMEPLAY.

So... finally, here it is! What do you think about Cyberpunk?

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hello, people. Im in love with CD PROJEKT, I have played all the Witcher games and I enjoyed them. I really wish to say THANKS before eveything else.

Now , about Cyberpunk.
It is a good game I think BUT it is not what I expected. It feels like a new version of GTA to me, even though it is not GTA obviously. I never was a great fan of GTA, even though I played it a lot at some point and liked it. Cyberpunk is a good game, I will keep playing but it is not my number one and the reason is the story . I love stories most of all, much more than shooting stuff, or running around different areas. I mean, do not get me wrong, no attempt to show disrespect towards CDPR. I know they worked a lot and I know Keanu is in there and all... I am glad in fact /that Keanu or any other of the top 10 actors in the world / is a part of a PC game. This is a great aspect ! Shooting at a gangster with a variety of weapons is OK, they did a good job here, but I hoped for more. So, the general impression I get is : it is another crime-based story for a guy who wants to become rich and famous, and ... and ... that is it ... Not a big deal for me! I am more of a Mass Effect kind of guy. Like it or not... I also felt some DEUS EX while playing Cyberpunk and I think that is a nice feeling. Truth is the battle mechanics were much worse in Mass Effect and Cyber offers much deeper skill system and customization BUT this is not what I value most. But I respect this anyway. So, thanks CDPR. Im not sorry for buying this game and I will play it more but I am sure it is not one of my top 3 masterpieces in the RPG world. Long live the Witcher series and Mass Effect, I feel this today and I might be even hated about it in the forum but it is what it is. Too much hype online, guys , just too much hype.

PS5. Humongous 1.02 patch installed.

Start as a corpo. Literally first non scripted conversation, a floating phone penetrates the NPC head.

Fighting tutorial, robots falling on the ground as dead bodies before they activate. After loading the character walks forward for no reason.

Get to Watson, NPC spawn falling from the sky.

Start driving (bad bad driving), first collision at very low speed and the other car flips immediately. 50 meters on, the game crashes back to PS5 home.

Total playtime: 30 minutes. I go to bed.

10/10. when it's ready. Definitely would pre-order again. /s

Oh, and I've seen base PS4. MY GOD.

If we go a bit reductionist one could say the game feels like gta x borderlands.

I am disappointed. I really am. Part of me saw that coming, but I never thought it could be THAT bad...

I have 3 platforms. Ps4, PS4 Pro and even bought a PS5 just for this game. My most anticipated game in years.

In PS4 the game is literally unplayable and it is in such a state that it really feels insulting that people have to pay money to get this horrible, horrible experience. The framerate is unacceptably bad. I mean I cannot even fathom how someone releases his game like this. I get that PS4 has an insane install base, I get that Cyberpunk has a huge budget and I get that CDPR has to make some profit, but at what expense? Isnt CDPR the "good guy Greg" of the industry? Pro gamer? Against DRM and many other things?

PS4 users paying 60 and 70 euros for this game in the state it is in, is in direct contrast to being respectful to this large community. Much more when CDPR staff goes on record to say that "with latest patch it is a different game on consoles:... I mean it is insulting. If the system cant handle it, do the brave thing and dont release it. If that is not an option then delay the damn thing even more.

PS4 Pro Version feels like at the moment is the most stable one... if you can even include the word "stable" in a post about Cyberpunk... But it is more stable than what it is in PS4 and PS5. The framerate is better than PS4 ofcourse but the resolution is perhaps the lowest it has ever been in this console. After Miles Morales this game looks incredibly bad at points and yes I know this is a far far more complex game than what Miles Morales is, but still it shouldnt look so blurry and run so bad.

PS5 uses backwards compatibility to essentially "brute force" the ps4 version and has an unlocked framerate. Said framerate is mostly 60 but can and it will dip hard (look at the market section close to your apartment). The resolution is ofcourse the absolute worse because it is the same as PS4 Pro. But this is not why I think the PS5 version is even worse than PS4 Pro. The reason it is that it crashes CONSTANTLY. When driving from one area to another the game will crash. Period. It happened like 10 times to me just yesterday in a 3 hour session. After ACT1 of the storyline where more areas of the world are unlocked, travelling from one area to the other will break the game eventually. Also PS5 users dont even get a resolution option like XBOX users do which is a bit weird as I dont think I ever heard of a similar example ever before.

And ofcourse all versions have an astonishing amount of glitches and bugs... all this... ALL OF THIS after numerous delays and an apparently exhausting development process.

I have witnessed a lot of problematic releases (Witcher 3 was also among them) but never such a bad bad BAD release. You guys topped Ubisoft and AC: Unity.

And it pains me to say this. It really does because this thing, what I got here... somewhere in there, is perhaps the greatest game of this generation. I played a main mission and I was hooked so bad and immersed like never before... until the game literally started breaking down and ruining the experience.

The city... OMG the CITY! It is such an incredible thing to marvel at. The sense of scale, the vibe, the atmosphere. There is literally nothing else out there like Cyberpunk... but as it is now it is really unplayable. It really RUINS everything.

Look. I know your support is always exemplary. I know it. And I know that you will eventually fix all the problems and that some day, some time, you will release a next gen patch. But this feels like it is MONTHS away. So many people who are excited are going to evnetually push on past the glitches and bugs and the horrible framerate just to finish this game. But they wont experience what you intended or promised to deliver.

I dont know why it keeps happening with you. Same happened with Witcher 3. You seem to aim at the stars and lose track of the development process, that leads to delay upon delay, upon delay, until you cant delay it anymore and just decide to get the game out and fix it at a later date.

This is unacceptable and quite frankly embarrassing. People are essentially BETA testing this game at the moment. What is installed in our drives is not even the same game that there is in the disc we bought...

Amidst a pandemic, lockdowns and such, a game like Cyberpunk was the "escapism" I was looking for. To immerse myself in its world and let my mind slip from the shitty times we live in. I knew that PS4 wasnt going to cut it and was afraid that PS4 Pro was not going to meet my expectations and I went ahead and got myself a PS5, believing that I am covered. I will brute force the crappy framerates. But no. The game had to crash continuously and I had to experience glitches and bugs every 10 minutes or so... and it had to look blurry as hell and have crazy amounts of pop in and the same graphics as a PS4...

I am losing my trust in you and I am sad to say this, but you are starting to lose my respect as well...

Thank you for listening me out and sorry for the long post.

PS: This might seem like a typical rant, but it isnt. It is constructive criticism so that next time you wont repeat those same mistakes and that you will respect people's expectations and money, a bit more.

PS2: Happy holidays to everyone.

I play on ps4 pro

I am so incredibly dissapointed . The performance on ps4pro is horrible , extreme lag spikes , textures not loading in , massive amount of pop in , framerates in action / dense pop drops to unplayable , multiple crashes an hour. This is just simply an massivly unfinished game on the gen it was advertised for . I do understand now why we did not see any extensive gameplay on ps4 / xbox one since that would have dropped your preorders massivly . It is SO SAD , all your fancy marketing and all the work you put in for nothing , this game will KILL your great reputation because of the misleading advertising and marketing. Multiple delays to "polish" the game , seriously , my guess it was just so you could get more hype in and score a few more pre orders . Because there is NO way you guys are that dense and dont understand what will happen when you release a game in this state ,I see all the youtubers with their 4000$ computers running the game fine , but on the generation that most people play on it is just a travesty . I really wanted to love this game , I mean the prolouge is AWESOME , the missions feel tense and exciting , but from there it just nose dives and all the effort you put in is for nothing , since the bugs and terrible perfomance is just killing all the immersion and fun , Keanu in all honors but you should have spent that time and money elsewhere.....too bad ..I will Refund and revisit you in a year when the game is hopefully a completed game. But I am sad to say you as a Developer just joined the rest of the pack instead of standing out as an example , shame on the leads for this game , feel so bad for the true grunts though.

Really sorry for your experience.Last Playstation I had was PS2,then a friend presented me his old PC,after that I made several of my own choice.I am playing CP on 4K HDR TV on Ultra and high with Vega II AMD GPU and it is rather stable,
not worse than others games released this year for sure.So maybe you should sell all your PS and build some hot PC,and look for GPUs with like 16GB memory for 4K.Good luck.

Yes, it's worse than Unity, Watch Dogs 1 AND Andromeda. I'm in the same case, PS4/5 owner, on top of that I bought a copy of the game for a friend that I canceled immediately.
What's making it worse is their strategy to not release any console footage in 8 years, straight up lying to players until the very last week, even delaying the game to make it playable on PS4/XB (CDPR CEO: "CP77 will run surprisingly well on PS4 and XBOX One consoles." 11/27/2020 - Surpringly well? 720p, 20 FPS?). With no review copy on console to get 90+ on metacritic with journos using high-ends PCs. What a disgusting practice, what a dishonest action, worthy of crooks. They are not trustworthy, and I'm not even confident the promised "next-gen" patch is likely to be released one day. I'm not sure they know how to handle their projects on consoles, even PC is struggling with video cards released last month.
They knew very well it wouldn't work and still released it, that's not an accident.

Goty? Depends, man. I dont think even without bugs released this year earlier it would have won. I have said as much, that despite bugs, its a great game. But still as much as a fun game it is, it has serious short comings other than its bugs and I think the game that won still would have.

The latest Deus Ex game (which is over 4 years old) is better in most ways than Cyberpunk, especially visuals. My impression so far was to stop playing the game after about a half-hour in. It's just too blurry, ugly, glitchy, with textures constantly popping in, so distracting, etc. I'm playing on Series X and have been playing Vahalla and Red Dead 2 and those games look and play waaaaaaaay better than Cyberpunk. I was astonished and disappointed upon loading Cyberpunk, after all the years of waiting and hype. What a huge let down. And I've been a CDPR fan/supporter/advocate for years, but honestly, they've lost me somewhat with this mess of a release. What makes it worse is they KNEW it, and wouldn't let reviewers have the console version before launch to review. So shady. As usual, in the end, money always wins over integrity. So disappointed in CDPR right now.

This game is WAY better than Deus Ex. Assassins Creed Valhalla was plagued with bugs on launch and Red Dead was monotonous because of it's slow pacing. If you're looking for a problem, you'll definitely find one no matter how good the game is but I can understand if it's a case where it's just not the game for you.

A PS5 should more than enough to play this game. Actually a PS5 should be overkill normally. This game even at its highest settings on PC doesnt have insane next gen geometry or something. The reason why it kills most graphics cards is the post effects like the ray tracing which can kill any game really if you want it to. Another reason why it kills gfx cards is because this game isnt properly optimized ANYWHERE at the moment.

So, building a PC right now is not good advice in my opinion especially when next gen cards are on the way. And actually no game is worth to build a PC if your gaming choice is consoles. People need to understand this. If you like PC game on PC. If you like console, game on console.

The fact that a game runs like poo doesnt mean that your system is not capable of running it any better... its not like CDPR are some optimization masters... far from it actually, they are notorious for the exact opposite. PC gamers where saying the same upon Witcher 3's release... that the consoles are too weak and cannot run the game without framerate issues. And guess what, after like 2-3 months or so CDPR managed to have rock solid performance on consoles... why? Because they actually tried to optimize the game accordingly.

At the moment Cyberpunk is an absolute MESS no matter where you play it.

Miles Morales runs with full Raytracing at 60 fps and dynamic 4k on PS5 without a hitch...sure it doesnt share Cyberpunk's complexity when it comes to the features and mechanics of the game, but it is still an open world huge City full of skyscrappers 4K textures (instead of shitty textures) full raytracing on pretty much EVERYTHING and runs at rock solid 60 fps. Also it streams everything on the fly without pop in (even the ultra settings on pc pop in) and bear in mind that the speeds you run through the city are crazy. And it loads in 2 seconds.

Again, it is apples and oranges sure, but it cant be THAT different. Cyberpunk is not gaming's gospel that should run well only on PCs. Next gen consoles are incredibly powerful at the moment and could eat Cyberpunk for breakfast with proper optimization...

Look at what they achieved with a PS4 devs that actually optimized the system... Cyberpunk in 5-6 years will look 100% last gen graphically... this always happens. Witcher 3 is a good example too... we have seen tons of better looking open world games on PS4/XBX than witcher 3...

Am I the one guy on earth without a huge amount of bugs??

I played for a few hours already(wanted to do a lot more but do not have any free days left this year) and havent gotten any major problems with the game bug-wise. The only time I saw one was two guys talkin with each other T-Posing :D

I find the game fun for now(considering that i havent played half the story now) and I have a good feeling it will stay this way.
Some minor things that I think can get optimized are present but they just do not bother me that much.(Except dodgin pfff :D)

But I've just had non of those tree bugs, crashes, performance problems, and what-not.

Do I have the (nearly) golden copy?

Here my specs btw. :
- Ryzen 2600
- 16GB 3200Mhz RAM
- 2070 SUPER
- 650 Watt PSU
The rest should be irrelevant :)

Its looks like pre-alpha game not more I see better Beta state games than this . With that lying about optimalization from begining of making game , requirements for pc (well yes i can play at medium grafics with 40fps but game looks so awful )you fall in my eyes ass low as bethesda (exept story that is great ). But this game is far from redy to play . I swear to newer preorder but i believed in you CPR and you faild me so hard it furts.

Given how disgusting the PS4/Xbox game works, you should stop selling at the console stores and start making refunds.

No meme - but probably. I am usually the one seeing this type of thing and thinking "lol sweet i didnt get any of these bugs"

but in this game - I got a lot. And , from the looks of it a overwhelming majority experiance not only jarring bugs, but a few at least "almost" gmaer breaking ones.

I dont think we need to pretend here. This game needed to be delayed by another, at least, 6 months. I dont think its an unpopular opinion this game was released in a unfnished state.

Idk if they still make videos but if they do.. I know ill like the one they make for this game.

Technically you walk all the time.

The walking speed is just so ridiculously fast you appear to be running. They REALLY need to adjust this.
(PC Mouse/keyb)

The game is what I wanted it to be (mayyyybe not counting the looter shooter aspects). But there are so many quality-of-life issues that bring it down. I hope one day they will be resolved and I will be able to enjoy the game as it was meant to be.

Wow,

Something must have happened at CDPR for this sorry excuse of a game to come out and completely ruin their legacy.
Like, in my book, they are now at the same tier as UBISOFT and BETHESDA.

They knew this game was in a sorry state - They made us wait 8 years, suffer countless postponements.
Yet, the game releases unfinished.

They must have been in dire need of cash and made a deal with Nvidia to make a game, that would only run on a super PC with their best Nvidia hardware inside. How much did Nvidia pay them?

Also, still not able to review the game as a user on Metacritic... Did CDPR pay meta for this to happen?

CDPR has done EVERYTHING in their power to not be honest about this product on the console, especially current gen.
How sleazy and dishonest... How Bethesda of them...

This for me is the same tier as what No Mans Sky did - However they made up for it, I doubt CDPR is.
They became too big for their own good, got too reliant on investors, and quick cash grabs.

They became any other developer out there.

Congrats CDPR, you ruined a great legacy in 24 hours..... Almost impressive....

Yeah I dont understand why you cant interact with all those food stands and shops there buy a hotdog or a beer there ... also going to bars and restaurants is absolutelly pointless cause you cant sit there and enjoy drinks with some nic animation its just an inventory barter ... you really dont need to go there for this since there is so many food automats or food lying around in the game ... The lack of interactions with the world is the biggest dissapointment for me with the game so far :(

Witcher was playable and did not under deliver graphically. I got what I was shown. Yes, it was buggy, but it was playable, and the marketing was not dishonest.

Legacies are made with goodwill, and the way they used to treat their customers - I am a little too old to be a fanboy, but CDPR had high status with me, as a company that cared more about their product being good than only satisfying their investors, no matter the cost.

Fine that you do not hold them to the same standards, but I do.

There are no hard-ons, these are just the comparisons that come to mind now - They were not a corp like any other, if you had played their games before, you would know this..

This is just super surprising to see from CDPR - They have been purposefully dishonest, to sell enough copies to current-gen users, as without us, the game would not sell enough, and they knew if we saw the sorry state of the game, none would buy.

I am an adult, and will ofc. get over it, it is just a game... But damn I am allowed to be dissapointed!
