Cyberpunk 2077 User Reviews & Impressions

+
I have owned Witcher 3 for a couple years but its sat unplayed. Haven't gotten around to it. Is it worth giving it a playthrough chance? Or too outdated already?
seeing how much I like cb77, I am very interested in buying Witcher 4 whenever it comes out, because same company made both.

thanks!
If you like great stories and amazing characters, you should definitely give Witcher 3 a chance. I think also graphics wise it still looks very good.

Personally, I experienced this other way around. Cyberpunk theme was something that I couldn't have cared less, but still I gave the game a chance and I loved it = )

I hate the fact that, even with multiple delays, I am apparently going to need to wait half a year for the game to not look like I'm playing Fallout 3 with my glasses off. Guess I paid full price for a game that won't be worth full price until it goes on sale for 40% off.
Hey I love fallout 3! ,,lol

Witcher 3 release version worked really well for me. Minor graphics glitches and some quests refusing to wrap after I finished them - that's all.

Cyberpunk is in more rough shape for sure. Witcher 2 kind of shape.
smart!

I don't even expect or want CDPR to keep updating to fix one or few minor bugs. I don't think that's realistic, although it'd be the best for everyone if the game could be left in a 'perfect state'. Because there are also hardware-specific issues often, especially on PC. It's a sad and doubtful situation, and I wonder if it's too unrealistic to still have a tiny hope for CDPR to fix major bugs that came with 2.0 AND Phantom Liberty. Still, one can hope that all the report tickets about major, common bugs that were sent to the support team over a year will actually matter in the end.
It makes no sense wasting time updating the game with content that really don't add anything substantial to the game, e.g. cosmetics. If people were given a choice, they'd probably want CDPR to focus the remaining updates on fixing bugs and to stabilize the game. There are so few people left working on Cyberpunk 2077, so they should focus on fixing what is still broken... NOT add new stuff that will break what is already working.

i extremely highly recommend you to start with the witcher 2. the first game is extremely outdated and barely playable in 2025, you can read a short recap of it, but tw2 is pretty good. tw2 will immerse you into the witcher universe. and you'll be able to use your tw2 saves in tw3 game, it affects some details. in my opinion, tw3 and tw3 after tw2 are different games. tw1 should be here too, but its gameplay is insanely different. afaik they are doing a remake of it, maybe even including tw2/tw3 games in it. but who knows when it will be ready.

anyway tw3 with both dlcs is definitely worth playing. it is not outdated and still better than almost every other game ever made.

The intro feels too short, or that could be more rich. You don't get to roam around with Jackie in the first region, its just a story-based scripted mission. You don't have a lot of fun with him as companion at first. You keep seeing this kind of stuff going on in the game, and sometimes these scripted events won't translate when you leave it for a while to free-roam. Objectives keeps popping on screen, but now you can turn some off for a time.

Cyb77 strongest point in ultra deep immersion and great story and music. Artistically speaking it is truly and immersive phenomena. High-quality music is absurdly good, dialogs are written with a lot of personality each, very mature composition, it is a sight to see and hear. Now with added features it turned out to be a much more complete experience every gamer should have. Even driving now feels more up-to-date after the much needed fix on the matter, and other attention to details that have been added.

What still needs to be adressed is the size of common gigs and jobs. Phantom Liberty is way more complex with these missions, but the original open-world random missions still are too short and without the treatment it needs. Perhaps its not needed anymore, but that's a con for me at the moment. The main quests feels like a linear movie to me, you just press forward and go. Some quests action scenes are so scripted and so short, if you don't shoot chasing drones in time or cars in pursuit, they explode by themselves. This part of the game I feel it needed to be scripted in 2020 release, but with all the super fixing, it doesn't need to be like that anymore.

Other side jobs feels super fast, specially if you find a secret entrance, and also meaningless. Some missions can even last for 60 seconds, others 2 minutes. When delivering or recovering payment on drop points, some of them are literally on the other side of the street. You just have to cross it to finish it. Phantom Liberty set of missions makes it much more complex, with alternative endings each that may impact you and with tough choices. That's more the CDPR I know and extremely satisfying.

Nice different endings that are completely different from one another. Replay factor is only good with Phantom Liberty though, because the other endings though good, are just last-minute picking. You don't get to build these endings along the road, most you just pick a few options. Still, you can see the complexity of the game with the secret ending, that requires friendship with Johnny---I prefer these types of endings that you have to work to find and have. And of course Phantom Liberty segment that also provides specific parameters to conclude the game---I also prefer these types of format. I can honestly say with these additions, it is a great setting of conclusions, satisfying for most cases.

Also, at the release, I remember I could easily play the game in normal mode without any implants. Now they reworked it so deeply, it is impressive and absolutely integrated with the gameplay. It boosted the gameplay so nicely, I often replay it from zero just to feel, mess around and use powers I couldn't do with the previous gameplay. They did a great job with the cyberware overhaul.

In my opinion CDPR learned so much, I predict the next Cyberpunk game, or next big patch (if they do it) will destroy the industry. The next company trying to do a cyberpunk genre sci-fi will have a hard time trying to breach the bar. I say this because if as Cyb77 had some challenges, it still is a great enjoyable experience. Imagine the nuclear bomb the next game will be.

Idk if anyone will read this, but to the people who made the game, I want to say thanks.

Been struggling. This game is a remedy, oddly enough. There's hope, heart, love, laughs, all the things you want from a great story are in this game, and it's a whole lot of fun. It's darkly beautiful.

I do feel as if this is the (exaggerated) future we're going to get. Makes me want to be better today, and tomorrow. Game makes me want to do differently. And it makes me thankful, for trees, green grass, birds, animals.

Night City is a lot of fun to play in.

But I have zero desire to live there, and I have no desire to see this future become reality.

In the 1980s, what Pondsmith created was wild, counter-culture, extreme fantasy.

In the 1990s, it was getting a bit thoughtful. Could some of that stuff actually happen?

In the early 2000s, there were already too many similarities for it to be comfortable.

Now...well...we're still here...so that's something...

(And still no cool cybernetic implants.)

Yeah today's world is a far worse dystopia (and that's saying something) and yet has none of the cool stuff

I want a world with Sandevistans, street Kenjutsu, joytoys and anarchist rockerboys to make the shitty dystopia more enjoyable, goddammit!

im starting to dislike CP2077, all of sudden constant crashing, reinstalled windows 11 and the game itself about 5 time with same result

I LOVE LOVE LOVE this game! I got it at launch because of the hype for it (the main draw being FPS, other than a few racing games, I ONLY play fps). I've never played a game in this type of category before. I struggled through one playthrough at the time, key word 'struggled', lol. Then put it away because I had hopes they would work on it and make it like the hype. Two or so years later I got random ad or suggested post on FB and it talked about Patch 2.0 and that it was a big fix and blabla. So I'm like, let's try it. Roughly 85% of the bugs and glitches seemed fixed, the overhaul on character tree was great, and a few additions. Played a few more playthroughs and put it down until around October 2024 and haven't let go since! On 2.21 now and I'd say 95% of bugs are fixed and SOOOOO much added (plus changes to photomode that I like) and I got Phantom Liberty (which still has many graphical issues [namely massive frame drops]).... but adds so much to the story and new areas, new iconics (a lot!), and more farming routes. I am easily 1700+ hours into this game and still running with it. I've done full playthroughs under each life path, I've done all missions and side quests different ways, and all the endings multiple times. What keeps me around now: my 'horde' game history. I LOVED the Serious Sam franchise, same with Wolfenstein, Quake, Doom, etc. I LOVE high intensity action of tons of enemies coming at you and how to handle them. The fact you can super customize not only your playstyle, but the build itself, the tons of weapons, and my personal favorite = areas! This map is HUGE. I can fight off 5 star cops (or militech in badlands) in sooooooooo many different places, day or night, fog, rain, sandstorms, etc. For me, the replayability is insane!!! I also like to create my own personal challenges: destroying all 26 turrets at the border and different playstyles (chrome compressor, sandy with different weapons, etc), surviving the toughest fight the game produces (5 stars in badlands with chrome compressor [kind of nerfing myself] and 10+ maxtac squads with 18+ skull enemies constantly chasing).... and my personal favorite: I learned how to CREATE an actual OP build that challenges Netrunning! I have a MASSIVE DAMAGE aggressive melee build that rivals and BEATS netrunning. I have 2 builds now (throwing knife build and melee build) that can one shot most enemies and have completed a 4 month goal of doing "FASTEST MAXTAC KILL POSSIBLE: All 4 dead in TWO attacks"! Beat that netrunners!!!! One charged punch, one finisher bat swing, all 4 dead on the ground!!! As far as I've seen my speed run of "Don't Fear The Reaper" secret ending is faster than anyone I've come across: walking in front door to Smasher dead in 5:56!! AND I STILL WANT MORE!!!!!!! Thank you so much CDPR for being by far the BEST gaming company that CARES about it's fans and player base! Hands down the best Tech Support too! That Transformer Model made a big difference to my medium grade PC! Can't wait for Orion!

I never played the game when it first came out so I can only review the Ultimate Edition which I started to play months ago:

This game is a unique banger, alongside Deus Ex it is IMO the definitive Cyberpunk game. I actually like it better than DE because this game allows me to play a character in the image of Motoko Kusanagi, and the world totally feels like the Ghost in the Shell/Judge Dredd RPG that was never made... until now.

Keep the awesome, bold games coming, CDPR :howdy:

While I have been playing the game for a while now, I finished the main story for the first time today.

I chose the Devil ending. CDPR knows how to do a fucked up ending with a touch of hope (six months to live without the Relic are six months to live without the fucking Relic). My V didn't care about working for Hanako, she just wanted to be herself without Johnny inhabiting her body, even though she didn't hate Johnny and in fact agreed with him.

Now I wanna do the Sun ending because as I understand it it properly solves the Johnny/Rogue/Alt affair, and as much as I love relentlessly tragic endings, the Devil ending doesn't provide a proper conclusion to that storyline, and I need closure. Thankfully the game returns you right before the last mission with Hanako after you finish the ending.

One of the best and most unique games I've ever played.

It's one of the best games I've ever played. I finished it a week ago and had to buy the DLC as well, and I don't regret it at all. It feels great. A fascinating story with a futuristic theme.

I wish there had been more activity in the world, like minigames, robot dogs that can accompany you and send you after things, or having a vehicle that can fly, and other things from the future.

But if Cyberpunk 2077 has been so incredible, what will the sequel be like? Just thinking about a sequel to this game, which will probably come out in 2032 at the earliest with Unreal Engine 5 and the next generation, how incredible will it look?

Will it be able to look much better than GTA VI?I can't wait that long :amar: :amar: :amar: :amar: :amar: :amar: :amar: :amar:

I just finished playing Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty and I just saw the ending. I am not writing to you with an error message, but with my feelings as a player.

I want to thank you for creating one of the most emotionally powerful and heartbreaking stories I've ever experienced in video games. The ending, in which V survives but loses everything-his powers, his personality, his friends, his love–left me feeling deeply sad and empty.

It really hurt me to realize that V was completely alone in the end. That everyone-Judy, Panam, Victor-had moved on with their lives. It's a devastating ending.

This sadness is a testament to your work. You made me worry about V, Johnny Silverhand and the whole world of Night City so much that this ending felt like a real loss.

Thank you for this story. Thank you for having the courage to give us a tragic and profound ending instead of a simple "happy ending." This is an ending that I will remember and ponder for a very, very long time.

With respect, A grateful player.

Oh and yet, I've spent 150+ hours playing this wonderful game.
