Cyberpunk 2077 User Reviews & Impressions

+
I played 6 hours when the game was released on Dec 9, 2020 and then immediately shelved it due to bugs/glitches/etc. I play on PC, so I didn't encounter nearly as many problems as console players (I am glad I didn't decide to buy one for my PS4 haha), but it was enough to stop. The main problem I have is with the way the company handled this entire project, something I will explain further. I think that the guys who run CDPR have screwed us over as players, and I can only imagine Johnny Silverhand pointing at us all and laughing while making some sarcastic point about how we were duped into buying a product that itself has a lot to say about the role of corpos in exploiting people.

I started playing this game again about a month ago and I have to say that I am much more impressed with it, at least the story and side-quests in general. I think that the story and even many of the side-quests are on par with many other great games (best of Red Dead Redemption, Assassin's Creed, Horizon Zero Dawn, etc.). The main story is very well told and I felt emotionally connected to the main protagonist as well as the other characters he encounters. The one problem I do have is that the death clock doesn't seem to run out as I have been playing many side missions without feeling any need to deal with the "relic" that should be killing V (it seems more like a hangover, with temporary loss of consciousness, stamina, and what looks like a virtual migraine). One solution might have been to simply force players to deal with the relic before being able to do anything else in the game, a restriction the developers probably wanted to avoid to allow players to make more choices as to how they want to play... In spite of this, I thought the story made sense overall. Side-quests often have their own contained story arcs that are just as interesting as the main story and I got to know several characters in depth. The world of Cyberpunk does feel dystopian, one where corporations essentially control everything and everyone. But the relationships you form with the characters make up for it and it really doesn't feel all that depressing.

Edit: I finally decided to finish the story after reaching level 43 or so and I have to say that it was fairly underwhelming. The boss fight against Adam Smasher took maybe a minute, he went down faster than any boss I have ever played against in any video game (probably all those attribute/perk points I invested in making myself almost invincible haha)... I guess I shouldn't have bothered playing all those side quests before moving on to the final mission. The ending itself was also somewhat anticlimactic, I may have ended up choosing the most disappointing resolution to the whole thing, with the character making the best choices of the two crappy ones presented just to end up right where he started, which is dying. It is nice that the player can choose how the game ends, so I will try another ending to see if something more interesting happens....

The main issue I have has to do with CD Projekt Red. I enjoy playing this game, but I won't spend anymore money on it (unlike Assassin's Creed Valhalla, a game that satisfied me enough that I was more than happy to spend an additional $200+ on cosmetics, expansions, and so on). I am a science fiction fan and I was fairly excited to know that CDPR was working on this game, because I played Witcher 3 and assumed that this game would meet, if not exceed, the quality of that title. I know that many people have pointed out that Witcher 1 and even 2 were also really buggy/glitchy/etc (which is probably why I didn't play either of those, can't remember now). But this doesn't mean that it is our responsibility, as players, to come up with excuses for this studio. We are not the ones who make these games, we are the ones who use our hard-earned money to purchase what we think will be a quality product. In effect, we vote with our wallets. This game was supposedly in development since 2012, even tho we now know that they most likely didn't start making any real progress on it till maybe about a year ago. Everything I read about it before its release suggested that it would be on par with many other great titles like Red Dead Redemption 2. Everything I read about it on websites like GameSpot had headlines like this:

Cyberpunk 2077 Crosses Another Milestone, "Looking Better And Better"

The Witcher And Cyberpunk 2077 Dev Is Now Europe's Second-Largest Video Game Company

Cyberpunk 2077 - Dave Klein's Most Anticipated Game Of 2020

And then something like this:

Cyberpunk 2077 Has Been Delayed, But The Devs Will Still Have To Crunch

delayed but no problems, in fact it supposedly just confirmed how great the game will be: "CDPR also confirmed that Cyberpunk 2077 has been playable from start to finish for months, but "there's still work to done," which is why the company's board of directors unanimously voted for the delay.

"Night City is massive--full of stories, content and places to visit, but due to the sheer scale and complexity of it all, we need more time to finish playtesting, fixing, and polishing," the company said. "We want Cyberpunk 2077 to be our crowning achievement for this generation and postponing launch will give us the precious months we need to make the game perfect."

Kicinski clarified during the Q&A that some parts of Cyberpunk 2077 were on schedule while others were not. He added that there is nothing fundamentally wrong with the game, only that the studio needs more time for polishing and other efforts related to the size and complexity of the project."

I am not sure how much we can blame sites like GameSpot for their failure as journalists to figure out what was happening, since I don't really think of anyone working at GameSpot as a journalist. But it all points to how far the managers at CDPR were willing to go to screw us over and lie to us. Celebrities like Keanu Reeves, Grimes and ASAP Rocky were also excited about it. Eight million people pre-ordered copies and many limited editions to the point that they were all sold out (I actually remember trying to get the limited set with the figurines and all that). When the game finally came out, it was completely unplayable on consoles especially due to really obvious technical problems. I am not gonna bother listing all the technical issues that the game had at release and continues to have nine months later, but here is a video just in case someone miraculously avoided these:
glitches for your enjoyment. It turns out that things were far from perfect inside CDPR. On Glassdoor past employees posted plenty of comments about the chaos and toxicity inside the company. It turns out that upper management made unrealistic demands and either ignored or chose to gloss over the obvious fact that the game was not ready for release. “The owners treat the company as a machine to earn money, and do not see employees as people but more like data in the table,” in the words of a former employee (not me, I don't have anything to do with game-making, just playing :D). And that's the point, while we vote with our money, they want our money, which is why they mislead us all. I can't imagine buying another title from this company, because as the proverb goes, fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice, shame on me.

PS I got a message saying that a moderator edited this post because it was "disrespectful." I need to know what CDPR considers respectful behavior, so please elaborate if you do it again.

Let me start by saying I am the most casual of electronic gamers, I played Cyberpunk Tabletop years ago, and was following the announcement of 2077 coming out from day one. Crazy excited for it. Preordered it, and everything. Only the 3rd console game that I have bought for myself in the 15 years I’ve had a console…. I LOVE THE GAME!

I didn’t have any of the baggage or the weirdly neurotic [anti] social behaviors that seem to come so easily to many in the gaming community, because I came from tabletop. I’ll be the first to say I’m probably the crappiest fighter and driver with nearly 300 hrs into the game, and I am still enjoying it.

Thank you, and don’t let the people [...] get you down.

Thank you for an enjoyable game, even on my last-gen console.

So after a waiting for a while after starting my second run, I decided to give some feedback.

First I didn't trash the game when it came out (even if the bug where numerous) mainly because between the time the game was announced and the time it came out I played different kind of RPG and ajusted my expectation according to that can be done in video game today and what CDPR is good at in video game making especially based on The Witcher 3 (first open world).

My impression was good but flawed game if you played it like the witcher 3 (you consider the map as a settting for the story) terrible if you play it as a GTA-like.

Why ? because the game shine with the "main secondary quest" (the quest involving the secondary character) where it's obvious the writer spend a lot of time on the writing. But when you try to goof around in the city the flaws of the game hit you like a truck at the beginning of an isekai story.
The script managing traffic and crowd is terrible and immersion breaking and the NCPD side quest are repetitive and no amount of flavor text can change that.

Contract are a mixed bag, on one hand I'm glad they taken inspiration from Deus Ex (many road to achieve resolve the contract) but I wish there where more contract with decision that doesn't make the player go "let's go back on the last save" if you did'nt choose the right dialog (contract to save the journalist for example).

Gameplay wise it's better than expected, gameplay isn't really CDPR strengh but the leveled weapon with random stat taken from the witcher 3 is annoying and some side of the hacking was clearly cut right after the first gameplay trailer and it show in the game.
In the gameplay trailer, you were supposed to connect directly to access point to be able to breach protocol/hack all electric device connected to the same network, same thing with ennemy, you were supposed to connect directly with a ennemy to have access to the ennemy subnetwork and hack them or use breach protocol
Unfortunatly this element was cut, meaning that you can use the breach protocol remotely (for non hacker player, breach protocol allow to debuf/disabel enemy/device, buff your hack for everything connected to the subnetwork), hack spread automaticcaly between squamate with the right deck. Also device and enemy subnetwork as been fused.

This lead to some issue :
- hacking become overpowered just by the fact that you can breach protocol remotly and that you don't need it to have your hack spreading between squadmate. At the end of my first run I could wipe out a squad by hacking from my car
- it's obvious some quest area were designed to have you sneak to a access point so you can hack the device connected to it so it's imply this fearture was dropped late in game development
- device/ennemy subnetwork are fused together but you still can do breach protocol to a device then an ennemy to apply the debuff meaning it could be cumulative and reinforce my previous point.
- Ennemy netrunner are weak because they only use one hack and the one connected in a netrunning chair are useless. Having them launch different hack at you (jamming power/smart weapon, making you unable to use your cyberware, blind you, etc..) combined with a "antivirus" mechanics to defend yourself against it (like using RAM to slow the hacking loading for example or going in a lockdown mode meaning the hack stop but you can't use/hack cyberware) would make ennemy netrunner more interesting.

On the side of open world beside the point I talked about earlier (traffic and AI script) other point are an issue. There is a lot of vendor for food and medicine but there are useless because there is no incentive to make the player go there. I never set a foot in a pharmacy for the sole reason the world is so full of stimpack everywhere it's no use to buy it (I have currently 144 stimpack in my current playtrough). Same thing with the appartment, there is no reason to use it because you don't need to sleep.
Kingdom Come Deliverance beside its flaw (terrible optimisation and lock system in combat) was good in term of immersion because you had to wash, drink and eat meaning there was incentive to buy food or hunt. And the food was perishable. That and the fact that some quest actually needed you to think by yourself was a huge positive point for the game
Adding an hunger/sleep or even injury (fracture, concussion damaged cyberware, bleeding) mechanism would make dinner/food shop (also add a service/eating dish served animation), pharmacy/ripper (by adding specific item to heal specific status or even needing a specialist to treat major injury) and appartment more usefull and the game more immersive.

All in all, the game is a real slap in terms of settings, colors, shading, creativity, originality ... and it is avant-garde !! Homosexual relationships are promoted and respected, and you are clearly a precursor for the video game world in terms of possibilities: I loved the fact that we can finally see and put a genital organ on our character and I I loved the precense of prostitutes, it shows that the inventors are particularly very open, and not psychorigid. Too bad we don't see the genitals more in the gameplay, I say that because I find it great that the games are becoming more and more immersive and realistic! Then the only two complaints I can make are:

-I hated that our character V did not have any favorable outcome to survive and so that he could be saved from this experimental chip. I would have liked a happy ending for my character, it really bothered me.

-I hated the fact that there are no endings of the missions on the "PERALEZ", I wanted to bring down all these bad people who controlled the city of Night City, I am for freedom, and the assaults against the great evil powers, I would have liked an assault to destroy everything in our path as there was with Panam, one of the 3 final choices of the game for "saved" V. I would have liked to do fallen all these people who destroy freedoms, and manipulate people to reach their end, I would have liked to be able to help Mr. PERALEZ, I would have liked to save his life and restore PEACE and FREEDOM in Night City !! Maybe add new quests and missions in a future DLC ?? It's just an idea like that, I would like it anyway. Apart from these 2 negative points, there are indeed a lot of problems in terms of bugs, malfunctions, but they are not huge, the only bug that bothered me deeply was that each time we picked up a chip, that one gained a level or a level of reputation, the Z key appeared several times on the screen and it took me all the time to the game menu, Beug that has been fixed, I very appreciated that this is finally solved !!! :)

I will put a score of 85% out of 100! Very good game overall !!

So... finally, here it is! What do you think about Cyberpunk?

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Quote of the day:
I still have faith in both the game and (more importantly) CDPR's commitment to complete the job. I really appreciated their revisions of all The Witcher editions and have no reason to doubt their intentions for CP77. That's not to understate my sense of disappointment, though. They knew full-well what was in store when they released this game in its current state and thoroughly deserve all the ensuing criticism. There are many who will take a cynical view but I honestly believe that the devs are cringing at their loss of kudos. Prior to this they had achieved a rare status but now they're exposed as all too human.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

As for myself, I have decided to let this game age in the cellar for 1-2 years to become a true masterpiece. If you played The Witcher Wild Hunt long enough, you know the difference between version 1.01 and 1.32. If you didn't, trust me - it was very noticeable. I enjoyed the game so much more when the bugs and rough edges were refined, so I am going to do this with Cyberpunk.
My wife preordered this game for me for the Ps4, I absolutely LOVED the game and did almost the whole play through of the story line with very minimal glitches! I am however eagerly awaiting the dlc content in hopes that it will extend the story lines! I almost want to play it again with my wife's version of the character! I went with male V Street kid, she chose female V Corpo, I'm curious if the story line is different!

Addicting world, that has gravitational pull of saturn, sucking me back to Nightcity even long after I finished the story for several times.

There's just something about it.

Another thing are the characters, how they are supremely animated and voiced, let along rendered. It is all so very detailed and mature.

CP is filled to the brim with references from Ghost in the shell to Blade runner, but even other less obvious ones.

Side-quests shouldn't even be called that - not those that have story. They are as good as the main quest line.

When this game works IT F*KING WORKS! And it is absolutely amazing.

... but when it doesn't. When the problems show their ugly face. It makes me wanna cry-

I hope CDPR + community pull thru this and together polish this gem (no pun intended - or was it? =)

That's my review

I have just played my Second playthrough. In this playthrough, I did all the quests I had and made sure to talk to Kerry and them. I love it even more. I am sitting at 950+ hours, have some mods ( Heavily cosmetic stuff, hair, FRECKLES, tattoos, and such) but nothing god-like. I fell in love with this game all over again and was able to live V's life (hopefully not all of it) and make a happy ending with Panam and Judy moving out to Arizona. I cried for V again. Deserving such a better life than I was able to give her. I, of course, hope to live out V's life a little more (maybe return to Night City to finish off Arasaka for good, or even live the rest of her 6 months dealing with her life slowing down, dealing with some bad guys but more wrestling with the fact she doesn't have a lot of time left, or even getting a nanobot injection but with it causing her to outlive Judy. ) Point is, I am glad to have lived in that world and I am honored to have been part of that story. I am convinced that CDPRKT red will turn this around and make it better.

even if they don't and the next game has nothing to do with V, I am glad to have been able to play my part.

Yes completelly agree with this review, mostly on the negative aspects

So everyone was extremely hyped for this.
Everyone was hyped thinking they could run it with a low mid range gaming build from 2014.
Everyone thought this was going to be the cure for covid in 2020.
Everyone put a lot of trust into something, in this case a videogame.

Nobody expected it to run poorly since everyone wanted it ""NOW""
Nobody had the reason to understand that this is a business, and business are complex, even more when you are talking about conglomerates.
They did their best, they delivered what you guys wanted ""NOW""

Yet they appologized, a thing that nobody does.
And still some are still bitching.

We have a game that has a story, a moving one to me, it still moves me to play it over and over again.
Yet the crew behind it is only having backlash.

Why? The game is being updated, is being patched, its not abandoned, it will get dlc's when its time to.
Dont you understand developing a game takes insane amounts of time and effort and willforce?

Be kind, be thankful.

I love the game, its fantastic, and yes i always romance Panam, im a straight male and i dont need mods to romance a judy.
deal with it, its how its designed.

Keep up the good work.

This is not true at all. Game devs apologise all the time for a myriad of reasons, but its all PR and damage control not matter who the devs are.

it's rather tiresome to see the old "the consumers wanted it now, its their fault that the game was rushed/buggy/too early ect" excuse trotted out.
The consumers did not sign off on the game being launched, the board did, they ignored the devs and launched it anyway. Consumers can be ignored, and apparently so can devs. CDPR had no-one else to blame except themselves, thus an apology was warranted.

CDPR got roasted by fans and critics alike, and looking at the state of the game on some consoles, the deserved that roasting for being very shady about the games performance.

While as negative as all that is, its good that you enjoy the game and can love it flaws and all (y)

Can you name a few cases that devs actually appologized for their mistakes?
Let's say Anthem or Andromeda? I'm a huge fan of ME series and i did not seen any.

You cant roast a company that delivered a game like the witcher, despite me not playing it but being aware of its success, (i just dont like eastern myth)

I became a fan of the company after their failure and showing how humble they are.

Yes, the game requires a nuclear reactor to run, which i have, but i also had a bad gfx card and enjoyed the game, whats the point of all the bad critics.

Take your pick

And you absolutely can roast CDPR for what they have done. TW3 is a great game, but that does not excuse the mess that is/was CP77, they do not get a free pass because they had a pervious great title.

I wish there was places you can sit down and order and ear instead of in missions.
Would add to the realism and would be cool.
Love the game when it's not crashing. lol

CDPR please stop hyping patches.
I finished the game on PC when it came out and spent over 120 hours in it. I don't hate it. I have not tried the console version and my issue have nothing to do with the fact that the game was far worse on consoles.
Overall I was left with the feeling of having been lied to, abused and betrayed.
[...]
I never played Witcher 3 so my expectactions were based solely on the 40 minutes presentation and Mike Pondsmith Interviews.
I am not interested in excuses as to why fixing a bug generates 10 more on your end, that is your doing.
Bugs are big reason why so many players are mad at you but to me it is not the major problem with the game.

My main issue with the game is the amount of storyline and quests is abysmal given the size of the map and the fact there is nothing to do once those few quests are completed.
The cut content to me is the most important example of the blatant lack of competency in CDPR management.
Here are my biggest disappointments in the game which makes It I will likely not buy any DLC nor future game made by CDPR.

-The amount of quests is far far too low, I would say given the size of NightCity's Map there is roughly 20% of the amount of quests this game should have. Also none of the quests are time sensitive or are triggerd by being at the right place at the right time.
-The world is empty. NightCity is an amazing MAP so much attention was payed to how it looks, yet 99.9% of the building and stores are as empty as movie lot backstages and you can't get in them. You do not have any type of mini game or side activity to do, no buying property or car customization, no real crafting.
-The NPC's are lightyears from what was promised and hyped, most animations are buggy, their scrippted path are ridiculous, spawning despawning of the NPCs are absurd, the NPC clone bug is still a very immersion breaking bug and is still present in Patch 1.3, not a single NPC create the illusion of them being real, having a life, having a night and day cycle. It is truly wasted potential and painful to see. Oh Did I mentioned it is impossible to interact with any of them? They serve no purpose, you could remove them alltogether it would not change the game a bit, and that is sad, very sad.
-Removing all the 3d cutscene was a terrible move, in terms of immersion and artistic they made the game play like a movie, why could you not fix the animations and offer a proper 3rd person view? I do not buy the it was an artistic decision, it is obvioud the choice made to force 1st person was only made in order not to have to fix the borken character model animations.
-Life path are literally 20 minute long and have no real incidence on the game beyond those 20 minutes, all additional dialogue options are cosmetic only. That is a betrayal to me of the world created poar Mike Pondsmith.
-The only high quality quests are in the begining with Meredith and that initial Questline, no other quest in the story comes anywhere near that intricate or have as many ways to complete it as this quest. It is obvious the lazy option was chosen to speed up quests beyond the first 2 hours of the game.
-There is no night life in Nightcity.
-There is nowhere near enough romance options in this game, there should be 7 , 10 , 15 or more potential love interests for V.
-The BD content was completely cut, We should be able to watch all those BDs , make BDs , sell BDs. There should be tons and tons of quests on the Clouds, Virtues, the MOX, Bds. V should be able to become a joy toy if he/she wishes.
-I want to look cool and have good gear not have to look like a clown to have good stats.
-Nowhere near character customization, the character creation and character model look like they are from 2007. Seriously? One body type?
-For a world like Night City it is quite comical that implants do not show on your character.
-The game has no endgame content nor the possibility to restart the game with you character.

[...]
I just wish the video game press would stop hyping you for these definitely needed but too little too late patches and call you out when you say crazy things like "we are now satisfied with the level of quality". Or when you say dumb things like your commitment to quality, on which you lost all credibility at this point for anyone paying attention.

After all is said and done about this game, It's one of the best RPGs I've ever played. A completely immersive city, plenty to do, loads of sidequests to keep you busy between main storymodes. Open world events that play out as you play.

What surprises me most is I have had two playthroughs, my first was not completed but I ran over 40 hours. My second is at 20 hours. In both playthroughs I have had little to no bugs. Primarily some physics flip outs, which are entirely expected in a game of this scope. In my current playthrough there has been nothing that has impeded my gameplay whatsoever. In my first playthrough the only major breakage was being inserted into Panam's seat in the car which collided the models.

There are things I would add to make the game better however.
- Multiple mission tracking in case you pass by a mission and want to complete it along the way.
- More weapons. It's the future but I feel like using a sword, a blunt instrument or a bullet based gun is wasting an oppotunity for whacky weapon types like gravity guns, laser weapons, drones, tactical nukes, perhaps even melta-guns and chainswords (ala 40k).
- Hoverbikes.
- More buildings with things in around the open world. It would be great to go roaming around looking for hidden quests in buildings.

Definitely a 10/10 game for me.

I can't say that I didn't enjoy parts of it (the combat's mostly enjoyable, some of the side quests are good, the MQ hits some high points, etc.) and of course the art direction, Night City itself, the sound design, the radios - all those are fantastic.

But it was a massive disappointment in terms of what it had been advertized as for so long, and in comparison to the Witcher 3 that came before it.

What it feels like as a player is that they had the game that they'd advertized more or less lined up and on track (a mixture of open world and the progression from punk to street cred of a character you design). But then maybe in the last couple of years Keanu agreed to do the thing, so they re-jigged the whole game around that, and they never really finished the game they'd been on track to making.

So ultimately the game falls between the two stools of being quite an entertaining but linear cinematic story experience, on the one hand, and something that could potentially have been a great RPG in the classic style, on the other - mixing a kiloton of good, interwoven immersive sim style quests with open world roaming, deep character development and build system, etc.

I don't know if blame is appropriate - the suits did what they thought would bring in the money and you can see their logic, and obviously everyone involved worked bloody hard on it. But ultimately, I think it was the wrong decision. They should have finished the game they were making and then (if they were so dead set on telling this particular story) had the V/Keanu story in this game as a big reveal major DLC, drawing the story of your character to a close, or perhaps having it as a "meanwhile, elsewhere in NC" type of deal. Something like that. Anything but this unfinished mess that makes one sad to play because of so much lost potential.

To put this another way: they didn't need to try so hard with the Keanu thing. Everyone was already set to love the game, and people would have bought it in droves anyway. I remember thinking at the reveal at the expo, "Oh nice, they're going to have a Keanu cameo in it, maybe a quest or something."

Nobody expected, and nobody asked for, what we got - a cinematic story revolving around a famous actor. What we expected and what we were asking for was the greatest, richest, most complex and fully-fleshed RPG made to date, set in a classic 80s cyberpunk setting.

Great core concept, but lacking heavily in execution.

Night City is the most vividly colored and detailed open world i've ever experienced (and I've experienced a lot), but at the same time it feels so lifeless. There are no progressively generated elements you can interact with (crowds, gangs, random events, etc). The city is only alive during pre-planned gigs and quests, but once you step out of those planned events, everything fades away and you're just left with a pretty shell and no soul.

AI is so simplistic my 20 year old calculator could probably run it. You can't interact with then, you can't even have a simple conversation. All you get is a random selection from probably 30 pre-selected auto responses.

Your choises through gameplay also have minimal impact on how the world interacts with you. Your affiliation with the police? Doens't matter much in the bigger picture. Alliance with street gangs? Who really cares, it changes nothing. What is your background pre-game? Who cares, it only affects the first 30 minutes of gameplay at most. In-quest dialogue? Hah, as if all outcomes aren't scripted to lead to the same ends anyways, and better yet, outside of said quests there is no impact at all.

Weapon customization as promised = Incredibly detailed and highly personal.
Weapon customization in actual game = minimalistic with a few sets of random attribute boosting "weapon mods", that are no different to the other "enhancing mods" you'd put in your body, your clothes, etc. Just recycled content.

Gunplay itself = not the best but seen way worse. Still a lot of bullet sponge feeling purely based on level system.

Character upgrade skill tree = very cool in theory, but in practice you only truly see a measurable impact once you're past lvl 30, at which point most of the city is far lower than your own level anyways. If I can already oneshot 90% of npcs in Night City at lvl 30 with my Katana, why would I ever spec into blocking perks, extra damage builds, and keep grinding when the reward is so miniscule? Basically after lvl 20 you can create a custom build that is good enough to see you through to the end game, so why even care beyond that point? Only spec that is worth going into with high level is crafting, and that is left unexplored through most of the core mainquest gameplay because its impact at that stage is non existent. Why craft and upgrade gear when you know that you will naturally find better gear through questing anyways? Only in very late game do you actually have the chance to find items that are worth crafting/upgrading, but at the same time at this point you're already strong enough to take on anyone without much difficulty, so what gives. What is there to grind for? There are probably 10x as many hours of playtime potential in the post-main quest grind to maximize your character stats, but there is utterly no incentive to do so, as the gameplay itself doesn't change. You don't face better or more tricky opponents, you just face more spongey enemies that are no different to the ones you met at lvl 1. All they do at lvl 40 is eat more bullets and deal more damage. I know it's an rpg style game aspect, but man this is the cheapest way to achieve these rpg elements, and do in no way give an incentive for players to grind. Instead, players are probably more likely to just restart the main quest all over again, and one can only do that so many times before growing bored.

I myself am not quite there yet, but I am also deliberately holding back on playtime because I know I will burn out if I actually play the game like I mean it. A game of this magnitude should be the opposite, it should be what I like to call "binge gaming" worthy; where a game is so immersive and joy-inducing that you just lose yourself into it and constantly crave more. CP77 definitely has the foundation to become such a game. But it isn't there yet, not close. A lot of fixing and delivering on promised content has to be presented first. I have hopes that this will one day become reality, but I am not naive enough to put my faith in it. Time will tell.

I haven't experienced nowhere near the amount of issues that I am seeing talked about here. I have been playing since launch and am STILL playing. Different roles, different blah blah on each playthrough. My key word is: Mods. I have and am still using many. Outfits, cyberware etc,... for me, make each playthrough that much more fun. I adore the storyline. This game still manages to rip my guts out, to a degree. Granted, not like the first go-round. It is easy to get attached, for lack of a better word, to some of the characters. I have found that I am horrid at anything netrunnery. So what do I do? Whip out my Comrade's Hammer, Lizzy, sword or Mantis Blades and I'm good to go. I love the game and look forward very much to upcoming additions/fixes and such that CDPR will undoubtedly bring. I truly hope that you all will come to enjoy that which is Cyberpunk. Hang in there, chooms!

EDIT: Game has been crashing non-stop since day before yesterday. I have no idea why either. All files are up-to-date. Including video card. Posted my report on Discord modding. We shall see. :p

EDIT #2: Make sure your mods aren't conflicting! xD Seeeeee? I am STILL learning. ;)
