You misunderstood what's happening on TW3. There's plenty of choices that affect the story, just no choices as drastic as the fork in TW2 that blocks off entire regions and main quests for two-thirds of the game, because in an Open World game that wouldn't be as desirable.

I'd expect CP77 to take a similar approach. Choices will affect the availability of individual missions, and will have long-term impact that you can't just "fix" by loading a recent save, but no single decision with such a massive impact.

See, but I do want some long term affects that are more than just window dressing, but can affect the world. For example, lets say I find a bioweapon. In most games, your only choice is to either destroy it or sell it to some group and never hear about it again except as some random news post. What if I want to set it off? I have the antidote, I could give it to myself and set it off. Boom, the population suddenly dwindles, people are dying, looting and killing, getting rid of my enemies. I could let the world burn(which would be the ending, showing my character walking through corpse infested streets by himself), or if I am a corp, I could "develop" a cure and sell it to the public for outrages prices and have my company buy up everything in the city, basically owning everything with no other competition. If I help a faction, I expect there will be those who are aposed to the faction and not let me have any missions or be my allies because of it. I liked the old RPG's that had a multiple endings based on what you did.

Hmm, I was playing Mass Effect recently and I was thinking how similar it is to other Bioware franchises. Same characters archetypes, same story situations, same story structure, a lot of stuff and ideas reused, even the damn hanoi tower puzzle.

So I don't think CDPR should fall into the same trap, and they should re-use as little ideas or the structure of The Witcher series as possible, with the plot but also with game design or quest design.
CDPR is way more innovative than Bioware. I wouldn't worry about them relying on past methods, other than telling mature and complex stories with characters that have conflicting motivations. So I expect similar literary themes, but gameplay will be totally new.

Character archetypes are a bit hard to avoid, "tank", "scrapper", "older wise mentor", "young naive kid", etc. You see them in every book, TV show, and movie. Now story, to an extent situations, and how they use the those tried-an-true archetypes can be innovative or rehashes of the same old thing, that depends on the creativity of a games writers.

I personally would only like this idea implemented in the game if there's mp, that being said I'll jump right into it.. I honestly would like the ability to give other players a certain amount of cash, so they can further their role-playing (we have some here who wants to be Corporates, Solos, Nomads and others, so I say give them the ability to give certain PCs money, that way they can just have their own personal guards, assassins and etc). The only issue I can see with this is that if some players were loaded with lots of money and a friend (who's new and broke ingame) could just get rich quicker (and more lazily) by getting tons of money from their friends. Yet, I believe if CDPT pulled it off just right it could be a nice little perk for those who want to be a "Boss" of sorts in NC.

CPunk 2020 does this. First, your Role level is your salary, per month. Now roll 1d6/3 and that's how many months you have saved up. So if you're a Corp 10, you start with 24000 eb, fifty percent of the time. Pretty damn sweet. Roll 1D6 again...did you roll higher than 4? You're unemployed. Enjoy the kibble! Better start hustling.

You can also Sell Out to, oh a number of organizations for ANOTHER 10000 eb! Giving your starter Corp 34,000 eb...a little more than a Rockerboy 2 who refused to sell out and now has a grand total of....2000 eb. Yeah.

And Selling Out never goes bad. Ever.

Yeah and I'm not going to lie, if it is implemented in the game I (as a Nomad) would offer my guarding and assassination services to any and all Netrunners I come across (for the right price of course, if your good at something never do it for cheap). When I use to play GTAVO I was so bored that I went on random rampages for craps and giggles (after killing almost 9,000 Players I called it quits and got rid of it, so I think I've proven my worth, which I'll show others if we are able to have Clients and Associates). :2guns:

I plan to try a Netrunner first (assuming the role is available in the game) and already know my skills (combat and non combat) and equipment will be barely adequate to start with. So scavenging and looting will be major pastimes for me. Combat will be avoided when possible, and if necessary I hope the game allows me to set-up some sort of ambush rather then requiring me to play Rambo.

Similar to Last of Us? That'd be pretty neat, hopefully the Devs will also allow us to negotiate, compromise and use persuasion to get past enemies as well (even throw in coercion for good measure).

Combat burqas. I am dead serious.

Great for concealing weaponry and trying to sneak out, more space and coverage than a trenchcoat and add some bulletproof fabrics to top it all off.

With the added effect of Fox News going insane and calling the game a 'Al Qaeda Terrorism Simulator'! Win-win!

In turn giving CDPR more publicity and therefore more sales? Win-win indeed!

I'm now imagining Al Qaeda actually trying to do acts of terrorism, inspired by Cyberpunk 2077 having chopped off their arms and legs, replacing them with useless hunks of metal prosthesis, or simply covering their arms, legs, and heads in tinfoil.

...and the only useful effect was they made themselves immune to ALIEN MIND CONTROL.

Actually not even that since tinfoil is more conductive to radio waves than a bare head!

Reload and melee weapon speed determined by proficiency. Lower levels are slow and fumbling, higher levels are fast and extremely agile.

The ability to sneak into, and loot the fire department. Axes and gasmasks oh my.

Brutality of finishers (if any) determined by empathy stat.

The ability to craft crude, make-shift weapons.

Also I'd like a realistic action rpg version of Jade Empire, with martial arts like the kind that we see in the old Jackie Chan movies!

I'd love to get a sequel to Jade Empire. The original is tied with Mass Effect 1 as my favorite BioWare game.

My vision about CyberPunk 2077

Hi!

First of all, hello to everybody, I'm new here, I'm a spanish gamer who loves CyberPunk and futuristic themes, so I'll try to explain some ideas for help, if developers like it.

- VR Support: I supose you know what Oculus Rift is.. I think it's the future, I'm realy fall in love with virtual reality concept.. so I think this is the PERFECT game for virtual reality. Imagine yourself in Night City, with all of those skyscrapers at real size, talking with cyber-people with mechanic arms.. I hope the wrappers can offer me a good experience, but I think you should considering this option. I'm completely sure that all of you fans of Cyberpunk 2077 would be absolutely excited if you play this game in Oculus Rift.. now it's only a development kit (DK2) but the comercial version will arrive on mid-2015 so I think you have a lot of time to think on it.

- Of course, First person view.. I know a lot of people like Third person view, like The Witcher series.. but be realistic.. this is a futuristic game, you could see the life with aumented reality, analyzing the people, the situations, can make photos or videos with your eyes.. imagine you have to photoscaned a murder who is in mid of the people, in the city.. only you have to do it's press a boton to activate a scaner, a special viewer, and you can identificate the murder.. First person camera it's very important for this, for the way that you feel this amazing world... this have a lot of possibilities.

But I'm not against of Third Person Camera, I think the best option it's player can choose the camera (TPView or FPView).. like The Elder Scrolls Skyrim, or Fallout 3. I love games like Mass Effect but I think third person view it's not good for virtual reality.. FPView it's more inmersive.. so my idea it's you can choose both.

- Now the ideas:

· What do you think about a Race Track?
With flying cars, race planes or motorbikes.. I think futuristic races should be an interesting option in the game: If you are a great pilot, you can run in trophys and all the city see you, a Future Sport.. and If you are good, you can be a celebrity and people in the city knows you.

Also you can run for money if you're poor but you have good skills.. legal or ilegal races.. with dangerous people at the low places of the city.

It can help for the history too.. or a secondary mision for example..: you have to capture an important mafious of the race tracks who distribute and sell drougs and weapons on the races, but you can't talk with him, or you cant' find him.. the only way to find him it's running on ilegal races, winning it.. and then, he looks in you because you are the best. He wants you to work for him, you have to take an important mercancy and escape the police, but that's your opportunity for kill him..

- Other idea its make an Underwater Zone, if this is based on the future with enormous skyscrapers and flying cars.. an underwater zone/little city would be awesome! Like Rapture of Bioshock, (but adapted to Cyberpunk skin of course). If it's impossible make a city, consider the option to make a small place.. an underwater market place, for example. And you can see how sea life it's on 2077 year. A terrorist mision in that you have to explode an underwater zone and kill some important and corrupt people, and then you scape in a submarine vehicle.

- The same but on the Sky! Considere a flying town for rich people, and the only way you can go it's on a futuristic aeroplane.

- A wasteland.. I see this idea before, here in the forum, and I'm agree with it.. it's important to add variety and contrast for the world. A polluted desert.. or a polluted jungle.

I think it's so cool to see mutant animals on a polluted jungle, animals who were used for biogenetic experiments (and fail).. and you have to hunt them.
A secondary mision: An important experiment on laboratories has failed, and animals had lost.. (animals like monkey, rats, dogs, whatever you want). The problem is the animal have an important virus, (yes, it sounds too apocaliptic like 28 days after) and the virus affect to people who is NOT aumented by technology.. so if you have technologic implements you are safe.. but many of people no.. and you have to kill the experimented animals for delete the virus. If you cant do it, or you fail on your try, many people can die on the city and it has consecuences for the changing world.

- I don't know if you are going to implement Alien life.. I think not.. but It doesn't a bad idea to implement a "secret area" like Area 51 wich have evidences for alien life, and experiments with them. Of course the game is not about this (I think) but a mision with aliens, or about aliens it would be cool.

- The dynamic system for conversations it's a great idea!! I would enjoy if I listen people talking on my natal language (spanish) and I understand them, and talk with other people who talk russian, or chinese for example.. and I have to activate a translator with a robotic voice. It's very cool!

Of course I hope this game will come on Spanish language.. It's very annoying for hispanic-parlants can't enjoy The Witcher 3 on our language and have to activate subtitles.. I want to look for the amazing graphics not for subtitles..

This are my ideas, I'm sorry if you think it is a time loosing but I hope developers see my ideas and considering it!

And sorry if my English isn't good! I hope you understand it well :)

Goodbye!
