Nice find!I read this interview of J. Sawyer of Obsidian for Pillars of Eternity and these 2 things he said could be good for any RPG.
Hopefully it works at least half as well as it sounds.

This actually reminds me of a spiritual sequel to Wasteland that never got made that I think would be cool to revisit called 'Meantime'. The basic concept was your main character(s) start out in a post-apocalypse setting like Wasteland (or Fallout's) and they fall into possession of a time machine or trans-dimensional device that allows them to travel back in time or some alternate universe timeline.
For my part I really hope the game isn't so combat-centric you have any real use/need for ACPA or a 25mm autocannon.I'd love to see ACPA in the game. However, I don't want them to be level-based, like you can obtain them if you only have a certain level, or to come at only a certain point of the story where it would be the only time you could use it.
You should be able to access it only with the appropriate connections, and with a looooot of money, and operate it would require your character to be proficient in piloting ACPA. Make it hard to obtain though, it's quite rare to see on a regular basis in CP2020, and the police/military/corporate forces wouldn't be to happy to see a random guy in a ACPA.
I don't necessarily want to see 100 different suits (we're not talking about a FPS game here), maybe like 5 base ACPAs and 5 base frames that could be customized would be nice.
Or if you don't want to make ACPAs in the game, maybe allow the player to more deeply customize his suit of armor, like attach heavy metalgear to a linear frame and wield a 25mm autocannon!
Are the CdProjectRed developers reading this forums? how do we know that they are taking our ideas into account?
Oh yeah, I didn't say that it should be a central thing in the game, it has to be rare and precious and all. You're right on the fact that the game shouldn't push you to have any use in ACPA. You should obviously be able to deal and finish your missions through "subtle" and "gently" ways, and actually be kind of pushed to do that and not to go cow-boy on your enemies if you want to survive, but you know, if you wanna take over some corporate HQ or have somme fun and just wreak havoc in NC, an ACPA would be pretty fun (unless there is perma-death, cause using such a thing would probably send you back to your maker)For my part I really hope the game isn't so combat-centric you have any real use/need for ACPA or a 25mm autocannon.
A certain amount would be fine. Or just the ability to rent/buy a nicer place.I definitely don't think customising a house is a good idea for game development direction. It may turn out costly for development and give nothing for gameplay, role-play or atmosphere.
C'mon. That place had ambience! And a great view! It was a corner apartment!A certain amount would be fine. Or just the ability to rent/buy a nicer place.
I know I was pretty happy to move out of the initial rat trap in Bloodlines.
Agreed.C'mon. That place had ambience! And a great view! It was a corner apartment!
I agree concerning the customization, that wouldn't fit ... however, when it comes to Adam Jensen's story his social situation was not important for the plot and it certainly didn't change. I don't know where CDP is aiming at with Cyberpunk, but I think story will be much more personal, "not about saving the world, but about saving yourself", right? I'd certainly prefer to live in the upper districts if given the choice/chance to do so ;-)Agreed.
I would also remember Deus Ex:HR which is much closer to Cyberpunk 2077, it had perfectly themed apartment and any customisation would be excess. By games like Skyrim we can see that such freedom usually hurts story and ambience.
Reminded me far to much of a place I lived when I was in college.C'mon. That place had ambience! And a great view! It was a corner apartment!
