Cyberpunk 2077 - Your Ideas For A Dream RPG

With the amount of time a player can spend in very powerful moderns games, it seems high time we should be able to order real pizza delivery, tend to real banking business, etc., while in the "world" we are stuck in for hours at a time. Say the wife comes home "honey, what are we having for dinner?" "Pizza, (click)" boom done, get back to shooting bad guys without missing a beat. Also amazing work is done for sound tracks, and I cannot complain. How about however letting in something like a Pandora ( don't quote me exactly it is the general idea I'm after ) - etc., etc., point being Blur the Lines between reality and game play, be CyberPunk Indeed. Keywords/thoughts for all this go like: game change, ground breaking, do it right, whatever that means, start small, be able to expand on it... one little thing like this done right cracks the door wide open.

A world of contradictions. A world in social flux where there more questions than answers, more options that morals, and every conceivable technological advance at the fingertips of man. Huge income disparity and a social system run by corporations. Beautiful sunrises from the wealthy high rises that are just as sinful as the pollution and crime-filled streets below. Hundreds or thousands of buildings to enter and explore.

Complicated characters and choices. Strong characters of every race, gender, creed and political group. Meaningful choices about who you choose to affiliate with, and consequences to those choices. A meaningful story based around the idea of what it means to be human, make player choice the story. However, do not make it so the PC can change the world, only the lives of those immediately around the PC. In Cyberpunk, you cannot beat the system, you can only survive it, and help those around you survive it.

An RPG system where the player advances by changes to there body and mind. No "leveling" that leads to all-powerful God-like characters. A system where combat is almost never the only choice but always an option ... it can be avoided with care in almost every situation.

That's it for now.

In Shadowrun terms: Decking.

Console Cowboy, Net Runner, whatever the term. I can appreciate the difficulties of creating this as a central form of game-play, and my experience with Cyberpunk RPG is relegated to the 80s so I can not remember the details of how Gibson's vision was translated to this world, but for me this is a defining element of the Cyberpunk experience.

If CD Projekt Red does include decking as an experience the PC can engage in, please avoid the missteps of recent implementations (Shadowrun Returns): please recognize that the nature of data intrusion is stealth, not 1:1 combat strength. A hacker is a ghost, first and foremost.

All this said, I'll actually be quite surprised if the player can engage in this activity at all. I suspect this game will be more bullets than bytes. :(

(but I'll be playing along, nevertheless! :) ).

p.s. In a general sense, choice and consequence is what I look for in my RPGs, something I feel your team excels at. However, now that we're leaving the bounds of a predefined character, designing towards multiple play styles (hacking, stealth, combat, dialog based social engineering) would be nice. Tall order, I know, but I still feel few have gotten this right (and the few that have are now considered legendary: Fallout 1, Deus Ex, Arcanum, etc).

My fav game back in the day Cyberpunk 2020 tabletop. This is what I would like added to Cyberpunk 2077.

My fav character was a Russian big Russian guy named Ivan...both arms and legs where cybered out with chrome, both eyes had thermal vision, and he made his own pistol...a one shot .50 cal that he could reload fast.

both legs also had hydraulic rams installed.

During one firefight the team I was with had blasted through a window in an upper floor of some building...I cant remember why we where there.

Turns out the guy who was going to pay us for this mission didn't like something we did in the past and this run was a setup.

We get through the window from a flying hover truck or something, it takes off because it was a hired drive that we didn't even know and now were in a 20 by 40 room with all windows on one side 3 concrete walls and a steel door in front of us.

Ivan turns on his thermal vision and say's "We have a lot of company"....like 12 armed mercs or something. The leader asks me (Ivan) what I can see to the sides....I say "right side has no heat"...on that note I turn towards the wall with the door and I start firing .50 cal rounds into whoever is close enough for me to see....I drop 3 of these guys...when I hear someone say "put some explosives on that wall so we have an out!!"...Ivan being an explosives expert chimes in " you blow that in this room were all dead as our bodies get blown out the window and fall 20 floors....I got this!!!"

So Ivan...knowing that he's strong as hell and has hydraulic rams in his legs heads towards the right side wall.

Ivan kicks right through six inches of concrete

....now his leg is stuck...

the steel door blasts open and because everyone was laughing so hard at Ivan they weren't facing the direction they needed to keep us all from getting shot!!....Everyone's dead game over!!!....

Id like to see that kind of stuff happen in this new game....because dam it this time Ivan wins!!!...lol

[Sard Edit: Your story was amusing and deserving of fixing so people could read it. Truly, this kind of scene, with both accidental comedy and consequental death, is deserving of being in-game]

this tree of life image should be put somewhere, like maybe on the eyes of one of the characters (provided it fits their story or theme)

idea: an artificial intelligence to carry with o, like in SOMA, it gathers information, guides you in quests and missions, etc and te ability to modify this a.i. t be more sentient or less sentient

I 've been thinking about Cyberpunk 2077 ever since I finished The Witcher 3 (I've never played the previous games before because console) anD NOW I'M SO HYPED FOR THIS GAME!

Character creation is very important to me so I'd like the option to play as a male or female. Relationships are also important, I want to feel attached to the characters and actually care if they live or die. I'd like to see same sex romances available too, but not in your face and over the top and cheesy like BioWare usually does it. Give me more mature and complex romances please! It'd also be cool if romances actually play a bigger role in the game, like you get special/unique abilities in battle if you have your love interest in your party (that's if you're not always fighting alone) e.g when your health is almost gone they go into berserk mode or you get bonus damage attacks? ALSO if you could have rivalry romances or some forbidden love affair with an enemy that would be cool too

Please: non-voiced player character

I like that idea as well but it probably wouldn't work well in the cutscenes

Psh, just give the main character a white board (or whatever the retrofuturistic equivalent of a white board is) and it'd be unique and totally awesome. I think it'd be hilarious if you chose a voice for your character like in the Baldur's Gate games, only to have your character's tongue cut out two seconds into the game. A game that actually gives a reason for the silent protagonist being silent would be a welcome change.

on of my biggest concerns is the camera mode and the field of view, i don't know about other people, but i wouldn't like that the playable character is far away from the screen and looks tiny , lke in tw3 or satellite reign, a good camera option would be on the right shoulder of the character like the overburdened camera in tw3, or the camera in mass effect 2, i know is hard to determinate a camera mode when we have no idea what kind of game cp2077 will be, but that is my idea

You just reminded me about the coer system in ME. I know they used a similar one in Deus Ex, and for the most part I really liked the principle of the system, if not the implementation.

I would like to see an agressive cover system, where cover takes damage, or can be penetrated and acts like armour - like in 2020. I want to be able to shoot through thin apartment walls with higher caliber rounds, blow up cars and oil drums. watch toasters and TV's explode as they take hits.

My bad, got carried away. Genuinely thought CRT displays actually 'exploded' like a kind of pressure vessel when they were peirced, im sure thats what I was told as a kid, never tried it. Looked on youtube, yeah, anticlimactic.

Hilariously, what they -do- do, is carry a lethal charge long after being unplugged. Nearly killed a tech friend of mine.

Now, that I wouldn't mind seeing in a game, heh heh heh.

I hope there's more than one mini game (like gwent) and maybe an arcade or some place to get high and "trip balls" lol, the drugs could give you awesome advantages in battle (let's say time slows down so you can attack quicker) but alcohol and drugs affect your character for a period of time, and if used too often you become addicted

Oh wait, what if instead of potions it's drugs? so players can't rely on them too much

Heh, and if you get addicted, fast travel has a 50% chance of automatically sending you to where you can buy more drugs instead of wherever you tried to go.

Lol yeah, and maybe if you avoid fast travel your character starts showing signs of withdrawal and eventually passes out. And when the player wakes up items in your inventory are stolen including your shoes and/or you're forced to go to drug rehabilitation but it's really expensive!

It's known it'll be be open world. What do you think about connected open world as in Dark souls rather than the world in Witcher 3?
For example, explore hub areas and travel to others via transport system.
