, Nethacking - Cyberspace, netrunning, whatever you want to call it. I want the net to be a virtual worlds like the books describe. I want to hack corporations/banks/peoples personal computers/phones/bank accounts/drones/cameras..etc. However, I want to have the freedom to do this on my own and not have to wait or be limited to "Missions" all the time. Make high level targets difficult, but not impossible. If I am a hacker, I should be able to break into a bank and transfer accounts to my accounts. That is why you are a badass hacker. The bigger the target, the more dangerous it should be (but also more challenging and fun).
.5, Hack what I see. I have to give it up to watch dogs. They got some interesting ideas on basic hacking that would be pretty cool to implement. Although I still want the net/cyberspace to access them.
, hack brains - I should be able to hack into brains that have brain inplants, making them think I am a long lost friend/lover/sibling/etc, or making them think a friend is an enemy or make them forget about me all together, or just make them a thrall to your command. I should also like to "possess" people, turning them into meet puppets. If you hack them and take over, you could use their body to infilitrate buildings, or go in and and fight for you. It would be cool as hell to do all this from the confort of my home, hack someone on the other side of the city and body jack them. That is the point of a pure netrunner.
.5. Want the net to be a whole different world, meet different hackers and other shadowy groups. Gain fame through hacking exploits in the real and virtual world.
, Stealth - most games have horrible stealth systems (that definitely includes the witcher 2!). If I want to create a cybernetic stealth ninja assassin/thief character then I want to be able to do this and make one that actually works like advertised. I should not have to be "forced" to fight for some stupid mandatory scene (looking at you deus ex:HR boss fights), I should be able to do everything stealth if I choose too.
.5, to emphasize, if you focus on a non combat character you should be able to avoid combat using your brains and skills!
, A wide varity of character creations. I would like to have all the character creation choices that are in the book like rockerboy, netrunner, media, techie, cop, corporate, nomads..etc. Things that no other game has done. I would also like to see more than just in the book. I really want to have an option to create a character that is NOT focused on violence and use brains instead.
.5, a LOT of customization. I would like to have skills that are beyond fighting, social skills like diplomacy, seduction, intimidation, etc. A lot of cybergear/enhancements
.5, your characters background selection should have you start and work at that background. If your in the media, you start out at the media, if you are corporate, you work at the corporate office..etc. This should also affect what type of missions you get, some will be open or closed off based on what you do.
, A lot of variety in cybernetics. Should be able to go to any chop shop and replace an arm/leg/eye/etc, for cybernetic versions and implants.
, Oculus Rift Support - Seriously, I have seen enough videos and reactions to know this will be big. The devs should try one of the HD kits at a convention to see what the fuss is about.
, First person perspective. Not just for oculus support, but for cybernetic eye enhancements, to feel like your in the world. Vampire:the masquerade did this right. With a 3rd person optional perspective.
, silent protaganist. I know I will get flack from this, but VO protagonist has a lot of huge downsides that is just not worth it. The personality is fixed, and lets be honest. It would be the choice between a total badass/military type, to a smart alec type, nothing in between and boring characters. On top of that, VO will limit choices. This is NOT debatable, this is a fact that developers have said over and over again when designing games with VO characters. I prefer to play a character that I can choose from many choices/responses, that is MY character. I really do not get much enjoyment from playing a limited character with three short dialog choices..even the geralt in the witcher 2 was very limited because of this. He was still good, but the choices were nothing but one liners...the limits of voice acting.
.5, bares repeating. I want to customize my characters personality to the type I want to play. VO just cannot do that.
, I want dialog/choices to appear based on my stats/equipment/knowledge/abilities like the older RPG’s had. Vampire the masquerade bloodlines were a near perfect match of RPG/FPS hybrid. I felt THAT game should be the bar set for RPG/FPS games.
, choices to appear in dialog about my abilities (hack users implant, pickpocket, stab body stealthly, touch and inject poison into body..etc)
, multiple solutions to problems, multiple branching choices/outcomes based on your decisions/actions like old school RPG’s. (planescape torment, fallout ½, etc)
, dark and mature - the witcher 2 was very dark and mature, should be the minimum bar set. Ignore the censor brigade, one of the main reasons the witcher is so popular is because it IS mature and not afraid to show it.
, Characters that can use stealth/brains without it going down the drain into a shootem up.
, NO ripping away control from a character for a “Cinematic” cutscene or for a game of simon says(qte). I want to feel like I am actually playing the game and not have it feel like I am forced on rails.
, A living world with shops/buildings you can actually go into and visit. It is annoying to see these worlds like GTA and just about everything is nothing but decorated card board boxes. My dream would be, if you see it(house/building/behicle..etc), then you can enter it.
, multiple factions - I do not want simple two factions, I want several, there might be just a couple of really big ones, but I would like to see many groups, and factions within factions. I want my actions to affect how the factions grow and shrink. If you help the corps, you might see the city become more trendy, everyone walking around in corporate clothing, corporate logo is on everything, help the police and you might see more police, people looking a little fearful, etc.
, multiple branching endings. Do NOT worry about forcing everyone down one particular ending to have a sequel. Endings that make you feel like your actions made huge changes. Hell, even some “bad” endings like destroying all technology with a computer virus, or hacking a military base to send a nuke to a city. Games USED to give you this type of awesome freedom before everybody decided to make “safe” endings for a sequel. You can still have your sequel, just choose one particular ending you like and make a sequel off that. That will be the true ending.
, relationships, not just romances (which I think should be in), but just hanging out and making friends. One of the most enjoyable things about old RPG’s were just sitting around and TALKING to NPC’s about random things like how they are, what their dreams are, etc. Letting them open up too you and even ask YOU questions that can influence their outlook on life and you. This bonding with characters and made them way more interesting than a two dimensional sign board pointing to the next quest.
, modding tools with the main game (look at elder scrolls)
, if there is MP or god forbid social features, let it not interfere with the singleplayer at all. Keep it seperate and not forced into the singleplayer experience like dark souls or the new watch dogs.
, a living city! - it bugs me that cities are so dead, no people and no traffic.
, tv news, blogs, etc.. that you can watch/access on your implant, tablet..etc. I want to hear about what is happing in this world, there is supposed to be space stations and stuff. Should hear about what is happening there.
, no cover system...god I hate those. I prefer the old thief and original splinter cell systems of hiding in shadows. Hiding behind convenient placed boxes is so game breaking unbelievable.
, customize avatar - face/skin/body..etc.
, design the game with idea of potentially porting your character to a sequel/other game (remember choices)
25. SAVE ANYWHERE!!! For all the weeping angels, let us save anywhere and NOT use checkpoints! Not TOOO worried about it since W2, but want to mention it anyway.
, should feel futuristic, not just slightly more advanced.
, exploration - using the elder scrolls philosophy, if you can see it, you should be able to go there.
, Let us play the bad guy - what use is choices if all we play are good guys, or even just shades of grey. Let us be the blackest of black if we choose.
, underworld jobs - body organ harvester, cybernetic implant thief, assassin, identity theif, bounty hunter..etc.
, no time sink missions. Make each mission rememborable.
, being able to buy houses/upgrades for your base. If your a corporate person you might start off a nice house in suburb, then then move to a highrise apartment overlooking the city as you grow in fame. The same with a nethacker, you might have some cheap equipment starting off, then you might have state of the art equipment you upgrade later.
