Hire;
Harrisson Ford, Morgan Freeman, Hugo Weaving or Laurence Fishburne for voice over! I would also say Keanu Reeves but he might be too expensive.

It would be far cheaper to get a voice actor from here:

...and you would still have the same result.

I would like to see an EXTREMELY in depth character creation, for example other mmos, or rps like WoW have it but its extremely limited, i would like to see some presets if someone just wants something quick, or a randomize button but id like something like an advanced tab where you can change just about EVERYTHING from the face to the body (a bit like the saints row games customization), to me its all about the cutsomization that makes a game good. Also another idea about the customization, if i say were to put in myself at the start a cybotic eye or something it would be really cool if that actually is interactive for example it might give back minimal information about an npc when you look at them in the game or something like that, or allows you to zoom in a little bit (nothing to overpowered because you want that stuff to come much later in the game)

Don't bother with Narcosys. Unless you want a good laugh, it's a waste of time. I made it about 20 minutes into the film, and couldn't take it anymore. lol
The new GitS (I think the first few episodes) is on amazon.com and can be streamed, but you have to buy each episode, or the whole season. I don't know if the service is available everywhere though. I've heard that something with Neuromancer was in the works. If memory serves correct, the director of Cube, and Cypher is making a film adaptation of the book. That will be cool. Cypher was a pretty entertaining movie. Jack Thursby was a great character.

Yeah, Natali's working on a Neuromancer movie. Cube was cool, a similar movie might be Turn In Your Grave

I'm scared that this game will turn into Assassin's Creed with "press E to hack" on top....

Yep, Vicienzo Natali is working on the Neuromancer's adaptation (and he's working on it for a long time before he even get the rights to get the movie done), he's get the old script already written, and since he lives in Canada, William Gibson helped him on the movie script.
I watched an 1hour long video of a press conference about the movie, there's a lot of cool stuff to learn about, like:

- no sentence "the sky above the port was like a TV tunned on a dead channel" (Natali explain that nowadays it would not talk that much since, now, a dead channel give you a perfect blue, like the sky lol)

- The "Matrix" (wich he can't call "Matrix" because of copyrights owned by warner bros) will not me a cyberspace like in the book, open to everyone, it'll be a world, between matrix & tron, where AI are the boss, humans aren't supposed to go there, only the most hardened hackers can "take" the ride.

- There will be a open-world game to go along with the movie.

- Some kind of "prequel" comic book to catch the younger audience.

- The technology will be updated to "our", like, in the book, Wintermute makes a whole street of public-phone ringing when Case comes by.
Here, they'll probably not have any public-phone, and Gibson said himself "I saw a lot of stuff coming, but not the cellphones", so the same scene will play out, but with cellphones instead of public-phone. things like that.

Il loved Cube too, Natali is used to low budget and independant movie, so i think it'll better handled than if Hollywood would've done it, honnestly Hollywood CGI fest and dumb-script have just disgusted me from those kind of US Block Buster.
I'd rather have a half assed Neuromancer on budget but faithfull to the spirit of the book, Than having something like what World War Z had (wich could have been the best Zombie movie ever made if it were actualy faithfull to the book) instead, mr Brad "give me your money" Pitt just pasted the book's name on a movie who have NOTHING in common with the book.

Natali isn't the best filmmaker, that's right, but at least, he's a vision, he's an artist. You need some balls to come along with a movie like Cube.
I prefer an honnest movie, with a vision, than a CGI fuck-fest with a pathetic Matrix-rip-off pasted on it, so Hollywood can fill their bank account as they piss on the book (just look at the latest Hollywood adaptation, it would be something close to this)

If you want to see the conference:

Bet most is covered in the previous 176 pages wich, excuse me, I didnt bother to read through =) But here is what I think a dream game should have, and especially a cyberpunk game.

1) Character customization deluxe edition - simply half the game is your character. Make that count.

2) Challenging faction climbing (If there is any) - I would personally hate to see me going from a "nobody" to the leader of the faction of my choice in 5-6 quests ala skyrim. immersion breaking to say the least. You wanna be somebody in a faction? Well then you should really have to work for it.

3) The option to start without the main quest and just free roaming to do what ever you want? Not everyone wants to be that "oh today Im a hobo but tomorrow I´ll be the king of the world." At least I know I´d want that option.

4) Make it moddable? That was by far the best thing with skyrim. I believe its close to impossible for a developer to cover all awesome features a game could hold so why not let the fans do the work for you guys?

5) Relationships - Not only wife/husband things but how about being able to form buissnes partners/companions and perhaps form a faction of your own? Only imagination sets the limit here on what could be accomplished.

6) Some form of randomized quests co-working with the wishes mentioned above.

I might be way out on some stuff, but you asked for a dream, and there you have it.

Welcome :)

However, I agree some of the points are indeed way out, in terms of pulling them off in concert. And especially randomizing the first 5 ideas. But the more ideas our tiny forum gets the better.

Haha, dont worry about the username, its not serious in any way just that bladerunner being top film for me and just a switch of a few letters and voala! A username I never can forget ;)

About the list, yeah its somewhat what i would like in the ultimate game, being a realist I doubt cyberpunk will be anywhere near it tho. Still doenst matter much to me, there are way to few real cyberpunk games out there so what ever they can pull out of the hat will be good enough for me I think =)
And thanks all for the welcome, i´ve been lurking around this forum every now and then since i heard of the game some time back, thought it was time to step out of the shadows for a bit..

In this thread, I think we can suspend a certain amount if realism. After all, a couple of Dr ages ago no one could ha r envisaged the power and capabilities of pc's and consoles that we take for granted today. The 'ultimate' goal nay be closer than we think. So I say aim for the stars.

Well, Cyberpsychosis should definitely factor into 2077. I also expect to see a fair bit about depression and other disorders. All the best Cyberpunk literature deals with various mental contions, such as ADHA, Obsessive/Compulsive, Megalomania, Paranoia and even a dose or two of Schitzophrenia.
