I'd like to know, how do I add some armor to a fedora?

Well, out of chrome book 4 you buy a hat. Decide what style, quality, material, stopping power, and options. Do you have chrome 4? It depends on what level of armor and Fedora you want. By the rules a fedora with SP 15 would cost 50 euro.

Yes I do. Infact, I have all the chrome books 1-4.
And you're correct, fedora would cost with SP 15 as much as 50 eurobucks.

And in here in Finland, you could also buy an old model gas mask for 5 euros. But meh, different countries... ;)

Yes! Sorry. Work + side projects got the better of me. I had actually created a much less buggy version but forgot to upload it here, sorry :(

Since my friends want to start a new game I've started back up editing this app, so if you guys have anything else you would like to see in it or if you find any bugs let me know!

This newest version is a lot more stable and allows people to change the max attribute points people can have when they create a new character. To do so just open the setting.cfg file and change the 'max_points' from 70 to anything you wish. Also I don't remember if custom life paths and skills existed within the app the last time I uploaded it, but they do now.

The page for the new version is here: http://www.2shared.com/file/u5d6i0wb/Cyberpunk_Builder_V147.html?
If there are any ad's I'm sorry >.<, none of them are associated with me and I have no intent to make any money off this application.

As for items that don't seem to exist within the app, I only have a couple of the Cyberpunk books so I wasn't able to find and include everything. However if there was anything specific that people wanted they can always manually enter it into the app as a custom item.

Cheers,
Gyrix

Edit: Realized there were missing files in the rar. Fixed and re-uploaded.

Tried it with IE, figured Chrome was clearing ads or something. Yup, worked fine. Two download buttons, smaller one is the one you want.

@gyrix

Okay, very very cool so far. I like how it's compact, readable, easily understandable and has lots of stuff. The lifepath gen - and the manual options for same - is very nice.

Don't start people with a character named Jack Mehoff. Your app is much too cool for something like that. Rick Deckard, Roy Batty, Cowboy, Trinity, Alex Murphy, Johnny Silverhand, Morgan Blackhand, Rache Bartmoss...all better choices. Maximum Mike.

I would like to see the same for character stuff - clothes, style, etc.

Spotted one spelling error so far - Persuasion has no "t".

Mathematics has an "e". Motorcycle. Cryotank Operation.

Could use more Martial Arts options, along with names for same. Could also use the MA stats from the book.

The Combat Stats page is soooooo nice.

I love all the gear options you have. I love the art choices you made.

In short, I love it. When we run 2020 Interlaced around here, this is my choice for character generation.

Sorry about all of the download problems >.<; I use Chrome with Adblock so I never really see the ads and I always forget that free sites like that are probably loaded with them. I'll try to find a better and easier place to upload the program too. If I can't I'll just host it at home on my server.

@Sardukhar Thanks man! I Really appreciate all of the input! I apologize for the spelling errors haha, I had to manually type all of that out so there was bound to be some. Also I changed the default name to Alex Murphy since you're right about the current default name. I had put that name in when I was first designing it to make it stand out from the other GUI objects so I wouldn't accidentally use it for the wrong function.

As for the Martial art options, I know you normally can choose the art (and that art has effects on combat) but I ran into a space issue with that page. The layout of it was designed to allow the app to fit on older/smaller laptop screen resolutions (one of my friends has a really old laptop). I can't easily think of a way of allowing for more Martial art entries without making the page awkwardly sized. Until I or someone else figures it out people can always make a custom skill with the martial art name and then use that. Once Martial arts are figured out I could then finally put Melee combat into the builder, but since melee was never too time consuming it hasn't been a priority. Now, shooting 1,000,000 bullets. That's time consuming.

Gear wise, what I did was find PDF versions of the books I had and then literally copy pasted the gear sections into a flat file. After running some quick regex commands to clean it up a bit I just made an interpreter for the builder to parse through it all. It somewhat intelligently figures out what everything is and puts them in the right store/inventory locations. So if anyone finds anything odd (which there will likely be) with some of the gear then let me know, I can't possibly go through it all and validate it manually myself.

I've made the spelling error changes and uploaded the Builder to a different site. This one seems like it might work with a direct download link: Character Builder V1.4.8

Edit: Direct linking doesn't seem to work... Just use the 'Click here to start download from sendspace' on the page to get it.

Edit Edit:: Also, something I never actually mentioned to anyone but my friends for some reason; If you left click the character image it will rotate between predefined images and if you right click the character image you can select your own image. If the selected image's file location changes then the builder will just go back to the default ones

Hmm. Is there some way to link the Martial Art Pop-Up Selection to the combat page? There are only so many MA, the player does have to to choose one, they can't just make their own, after all.

You could have Melee and MA link to their own page, of course.

That's very true I could, and I'm actually heavily considering having a separate combat page for melee now haha. But as I understand it a player can train in multiple MA's, which is where the complexity issue on the skill's page arises. I could easily map it out on any other page, but the UI formatting on the skills page is very tricky to play with and doesn't have much room left. Maybe I can just have a separate area for MA's on the skills page so the user can enter in 1-5 different ones.

Thanks for the input!

Cheers,
Gyrix

Sure, that would work.

Just think of Martial Art styles as weapons. Weapons have Acc, Type, Concealability, Calibre,( Dam), RoF, Range and Reliability, right?

Well, Martial Arts, ( and Brawl) all go by, in the core book, Strike, Kick, Block/Parry, Dodge. Disarm, Throw, Hold, Escape, Choke, Sweep/Trip and Grapple.

On a related note, the pdf I have seems to be lacking the MA table that's in my paper book.

Pac Rim changes Strike to Strike/Cast, adds punch and Ram....

Someday, someone much more clever than I will make a character generator that's Interlock Unlimited compatible...

The way I abstracted the item/weapon classes prevents me from reusing them for MA styles, so I just made a new one for them haha. So far this is what I have:

I'm actually including the Pac Rim stuff for the most part in the Builder during this Melee Combat Overhaul I'm doing.

As for Interlock Unlimited; Since I've noticed in a few other forums that those rules are fairly popular, I was actually planning to look into make the Builder compatible for those rules too (by that I mean allow users to pick one of the two rule sets when starting a new character). I need to asses the differences between the core rules and Interlock Unlimited Before I start into it though, since I don't know how much of the original design can easily cross over.

You can..of course. Issue is, anyone who doesn't have Pacific Rim is going to be a mite confused when it contradicts their corebook. Up to you, though. Maybe make a note?

As for Interlock Unlimited, well, that's just a couple hardcore-hardcore crazies. Yes, I said it twice.
