not everthing has to be 80s electronic techno, it could be a rockerboy song.

I'm liking this thread, lots of good tunes. Also, since some one important said they would check out stuff on the thread I'll leave a few recommendations.

sweet dreams By Eurythmics

you spin me right round I think the Marilyn Manson version would be most fitting.

Not the World I Remember FGFC820

Doctrine FGFC820

Self Deception Asphyxia

Oh Yeah Yello

Kidney Thieves and Chiasm are also two group/artistsyou may want to look into.

CD PR should just hire a DJ to mix the songs much cheaper than going after licenses, cause creaiing that 80s elektro sound seems to be very easy.

I think, for the most part, that CDPR could make its own OST, and then show songs from underrated music producers, like Celldweller, BT, Faithless, Nero and others, and can have the occasional Armin van Buuren, Cicada, Royksopp, Ferry Corsten, and Tiesto, as well as others.

I was also thinking....maybe some J Dilla there.

That's a great idea! I would like to hear some rock mixed with some techno to be in the future.

Uh... o_O

Both BT and Nero are big names in the Electronic music community. Maybe not AvB or Tiesto "big," but big nonetheless. Nero has charted Gold in the United States, and BT has a list of work as long as your arm.

I get your meaning, though; yeah, it would be cool if CDPR could use the soundtrack as a springboard for independent label / creative commons / unsigned artists to get their music out.

As an aside: I think it'd be entertaining if they included (current) old-school Punk as "classic rock" or "easy listening." Ha.

Well, I know that they're both big names in the electronic music community. I might have mistaken Nero as being underrated, but BT can still count, even though he has plenty of work and music to receive, along with some of his low-key music he's released lately (with the exception of These Hopeful Machines; that's not low-key at all).

And yes, CDPR can do something similar to what EA did with EA Trax (before EA turned into the company they are now).

MUSIC FEATURE IDEA!!!! :D

What strikes me is that everyone has their own musical associations they would love to have to associate with your play through.

I fully expect a totally new score and music to fall in love with once this game gets released and of course awesome remixes from the community.

I wouldn't want to dilute that part of the game. What strikes me though as a cool Idea that I've never seen is a game would be an unlockable feature where you can actually control the music in the game/select different songs for when the music changes based on cues.

For example often times Combat is a cue that changes the music. How cool would it be to be able to put some of the songs you wanted/owned/had clipped to play whenever combat cued up? So instead of the base combat music playing automatically through the interface I can have a song like Lazer Hawk Redline play. You could even have a random playlist function so combat could cue up a bunch of different songs/soundclips/etc. Also this would be a really cool way to make remixing the original soundtrack music more meaningful b/c you can then add it to your gameplay organically. It'd also be sick if you could control the music that cues/plays during cinematics. It would be a more integrated version of the IPOD in MGS4.

ONe last comment - so why have this, when you could just turn the music off and listen to the music on your head phones? It's because turning the music off and headphone listening doesn't link the musical experience to the events on screen organically - you'll never sync them up as well as the game syncs its embedded soundtrack.

Anyway this type of feature could really be fun! Kind of a weird idea - what do people think?

I suggested a similar mechanic back on page 24 of this thread. Post # 239.

I definitely like the idea of people being able to customize the soundtrack to their own epic adventures. Personalizes the experience a bit more, imo.
