Some hip hop could work, some band like Consolidated mix their hip hop with industrial music, it works pretty well.

CONSOLIDATED - America Number One

CONSOLIDATED - Guerilla In The Mist

CONSOLIDATED - Tool And Die

CONSOLIDATED - Friendly Fascism

Retribution. That I am being warned about. That's hidden behind a warning that urges me to click double and finally a screenshot that works as a perfect example of aposematism??

I'm not the little starry eyed infant you mistook me to be. I obviously didn't click on it, hee hee. You have still sooo much to learn... Though I'm kinda curious....NO! BAD!

In my defense, I didn't find the button that magically wraps my text with spoiler embrace. Also don't they say images speak louder than text? I like those threads where you are just scrolling and perceiving just like that great art thread.

Also those stupid mobile devices should adapt to me and my habits. I shouldn't be forced to adapt to an insufficiently engineered piece of hardware. I mean, what exactly IS the world coming to??

Here, have another riddim killa ragga muffin:

Could be a sort of hymn of those within the combat zone who got tired of the fighting, be it mental or physical

The problem with hip hop that contains rap and also most other music with comprehensible lyrics
is that you'd have to be very lucky to be able to create coherence with the futuristic world since the words,
vocabulary and prose of those songs were born in totally different times.

They could pay artists to create music with lyrics but that would have to be a huge variety of artists and
writing styles, sort of as it is today.

Maybe just rely on some concealment tactics? Some mongolian rap maybe?

Instrumental music (be it acoustic or electronic) goes fine though. And you are right - this thread should
maybe try to think outside the box more, or maybe it would be enough that different and more users post their individual ideas

I can see what you are saying, though I think there is plenty of hip-hop that is so street ingrained, particularly in the late 80's early 90's, that it's almost ageless... some of NWA's harder, better music like Straight Out Of Compton or 100 miles and Running works jsut fne in a Cyberpunk setting. Ice-T's girl with a big gun, Geto Boyz Gangster, Bone Thugz Down For My Thang... it works in the context... Del the Funky Homo-Sapien has several tracks alone that would be worthwhile, Virus is the netrunner anthem without equal.

But yeah, jsut like in a PnP game, instrumental is the least distracting as background music. But even then, we need a ton mroe variety than just techno, some Jazz, particularly fuzion or experimental... Beastie Boys In Sounds From Way out is fantastic gaming music... Or get some cultural sounds in there, Rodrigo Y Gabriela, jsut uttery fantastic, best husband and wife acoustic guitar team in the world. Get some Tibetan Throat Music, throw it in with some traditional middle eastern music (I cannot recommend Passion Sources enough... or Passion by Peter Gabriel for that matter).

And some prog rock instrumentals... it's sci-fi set to music.

Get some Tijuana Brass in their to spice things up, or maybe some Herbie Hancock.

Here is some more rap Most of it is gutter stuff, becuase I feel hip hop appeals to the dark messed up side of cyberpunk,

Im about to get on some happy electronic stuff though... there needs to be balance between light and dark and positive energy too lol.

This one is violent, warning: explicit and lyrics may offend so dont listen if you dont like this kind of stuff.. But it is for the psychos of night city. Maby to much for this game though lol...
If you like horror core another good one by X Raided is "The Sickness"

OK, here are the happy tracks :) and im posting classic techno!. The UR catalog is so diverse, they are not exactly a band, but more so a collective of multiple artist releasing all sorts of tracks.. Some tracks I dont even know the creators. They are not the only producers of techno but it is their variation and focus which has me posting their tracks...

I knew about them for awhile and im still discovering things I never heard before. Its like digging up old treasure... 90s techno, its "old" but it doesn't sound outdated to me , it is high tech but it has not lost the human element. You dont really find acid techno and jazz mixed together often. I dont know if soft calmer music is for the cyberpunk universe... but I find that in a rough place calm music is the perfect escape. Just think, your up in skyscraper chilling in dark lounge/bar with blue / green neon lights, while the crazy augmented people are below on street level tearing things up.

Later tomorrow am going to post some harder club songs, which will actually sound good in the year 2077. Until then chill and hear the smooth cosmic wave that these guys have created.

much better, variety is the spice of life... there is no one sound for cyberpunk, it's a multicultural milkshake of awesome, and that really needs to come through with the music.

Yes, variation
I like smooth rap like diss, another one to check out is J Dilla - Wont Do guy is a legend! and Wu Tang Clan - Protect Ya Neck works for Cyberpunk... protect yourself the basic principles apply everywhere.

Someone, could seriously rap to this, trip hop kinda thing with an epic feel. and damn If you like type of stuff: invasion and Expedition are similiar.

This is an awesome one, for club or lounge, things are not always as they seem.

This is an old chill one, for chilling.

Below, This is not for chillin, this is for WALLIN. This is strictly for a rave, because this is crazy, weird, cryptic and hard hitting, flying, stingrays, lasers and shit you get the idea. If you like stuff like this try Ego Assault , Defender of the faithless , Shambling masses and RNA World .

Again, here's my original track inspired by Cyberpunk. It still needs some work. My goal is to get it featured in the game somehow, so let me know what you think. Thanks.

Nice. Some solid sound-imagery of drifting through dark grey storm clouds. Bladerunner-esque but not pushy. I like it.

I like.
The music creates an mood of anticipation, you keep waiting for "IT" (whatever IT may be) to happen and the music to explode when it does ... and yet ... nothing ... IT's waiting ... IT will happen ... when ITs ready ... and there's nothing you can do to stop IT.

Some more cool future oriented trax to listen to.
Some of Access to Arasaka's stuff is really raw if your into it. Its not dubsteb sort of ambient glitch type stuff.

Simple but pure.

Like the one above, it is awesome. Not crazy but catchy.

The mirrors edge soundtrack is awesome. Solar Fields composed it.

Some dark / ambient and some agressive cyberpunk themed songs for the darkest night.

Stealth, is my main element as I infiltrate a port yard on a dark rainy night. Motion and Thermal detection allows me to find my enemies hiding in the numerous shipping containers. I'm out numbered and a chaotic chase ensues. Once the heat is off, I hide in the darkness and wait for my chance to quietly pick them off... one by one.

Etched on A side: "Your deadliest enemy is the one closest to you"
