I also notice that there is usually ZERO Makeup, Boots, Jackets and accesories to Complete the "Look". Instead I see to my Absolute HORROR: Hoodies, Flipflops, Sportswear, Bushy Beards..
and.., Man Buns?! WTF?! I'm probably SPOILED by the Ultra-Cool Styles of Sigue Sigue Sputnik, Specimen, and the Rivethead Culture Crowd. I Myself, spike my hair everyday, wear all Black, my New Rock Boots, and on cooler days I'm sporting my Leather Jacket with Shoulder armor. I think that maybe I was Born too Soon! I should be alive in the Year 2077! In my Life the MUSIC initially Inspires, and then Complements the Clothing, Hair, Makeup… all working Synergistically in a Cohesive Whole. For Me this is a LIFESTYLE, and Not a "Trend", or temporary "Phase" that one slips in and out of. Mike's vison for Cyberpunk 2020 has always had a degree of a political position built into it's themes. From where I'm sitting it followed a Neoliberalism > Inverted Totalitarianism > Corporate Totalitarianism trajectory which I'll refrain from commenting further upon while constructing my Cyber-guillotine.
I like that you are repping your style as an expression of who you are rather than just chasing the current trend. I'm trying to apply that mindset to the music conversation. As an example, I think Synthwave can be fun like everybody, but even CDPR has stated publicly that it's become too maninstream to define the sound they are after with 2077.
When you say "all working Synergistically in a Cohesive Whole" that is the entire crux of my proposal. I may be stylistically off target on a track by track basis (since I'm operating in a near complete vacuum of information), but I think the overall concept/methodology has merit. I can only hope that the community agrees overall, and that CDPR is willing to read the updates being made to my thread.

Thank you for sharing these. I totally get where you are coming from here. I wish I could tell you to what extent CDPR is planning to incorporate these influences into 2077, but we just don't know. My hope is that they musically respect the place that Rivethead culture has always had in Cyberpunk while simultaneously looking forward and backward.
The position I'm lobbying for musically is "Old, New, Original and Licensed"and that Culture (with the themes that underpin them) is more important than any one genre. Night City is diverse. We should be hearing the voices of Mainstream CORPOCulture, SUBculture and COUNTERculture.

This song released in the same period as Cyberpunk 2020 (1990-1991). It fits the culture, themes and aesthetic style of the BOZOS. It's menacing and absurd at the same time... like the Bozos themselves.
Maelstrom screams INDUSTRIAL music to me. But not the Industrial of 1990. Not mechanical enough. We should push the boundaries farther. Knuckles caked in dried blood and oil. Author & Punisher brings a Doom Metal influence to his Industrial that's distilled working class rage.
I'll be using this thread to share with you some of my favourite punk songs in Spanish by groups such as La Polla Records, as long as I find them somehow cyberpunk. You may do the same with other bands in any language. I'll be adding my own translation of the lyrics, translated kinda liberally so you'll be the judge of how cyberpunk they are. Wouldn't it be cool to listen to them in Cyberpunk 2077 if it wasn't (and I don't know if it is) hell to get the rights to them or fit the artistic vision CDPR and Maximum Mike are going for?

The next track's title deserves a trigger warning and some context. La Solución Final is Spanish for The Final Solution. No fucking shit. This makes a reference to the Nazis and the holocaust, but I should say that La Polla Records, the band, is very much left (if not far left) and anti-nazi and anti-fascist. The lyrics, as you will see (were the moderators be so kind and understanding as not to ban this post), subvert the way in which extremist political leaders try to create scapegoats and how things would be different if people caught up with their ruses and tables were turned on them.
In the case of this song, it's all about the false morality of politicians who want to clean the streets of homeless people so as to hide the harsh reality of poverty and set a more pleasant atmosphere to boost consummerism at all cost.

This is an example of what I mean about satirizing Corpo music. They co-opt a PiL song that was originally a critique of selling out, get a glitzy mainstream artist to cover it and sell it back to the masses. Musical irony.(Normally, I think someone like David Guetta would be all wrong for Cyberpunk, but in this context it underscores social commentary.)
More examples of satirizing Corpo music. Beavers don't know they're Beavers. Pure Dunning-Kruger effect. Basic Bro / Basic Bitch music. (Normally, I think these tracks would be way too on the nose, but in this context it underscores social commentary.) IMHO, constant doom and gloom in Dystopian media is desensitizing. Breaking it up with satire can enhance the darker moments.
just from what I have seen with what I heard in the gameplay trailer and the freaking stunning soundtrack from Witcher 3 I know whatever is put in is going to be awesome. Of course music was a big part of the game with rockerboys and i'm hoping there will be concerts and stuff going on. (imagine chasing a mark from a mission through a venue while the tunes are cranked up). Original game was made in the 80s and i'm an 80s child so I'm hoping I can upload my own playlists. Going to upload some hair metal bands and just drive as fast as I can on the freeways in that sportscar and just jam out with my speakers at max. Going to burn some serious Ch002.
