Hey,
what's interesting to me is how CDPR designed CP's "alternative" future in the year 2077.

Stuff like:
- corporations owning everything and so being more powerful than the government
- ecology - storms, dried areas, toxic water, all animals dead,...
- society - nomads, city gangs, individuals, corps, street kids,...
- net - crazy virtual space full of dead, undead, non-living, living,...fun for the whole family :smart:
- space - casino on orbit, (aliens?),...?
- life - homeless people, unhealthy food, murders & crimes & torturing,...

What gets me every time is the note when the game is starting, something along the lines:
"The authors do not identify themselves with the vision of the game".

Sure, they only read it, thought about it, played the PnP, studied it, and created the game.
I get there can be/is a difference, but the line feels cheap, just to get along with rating agencies :D

On the other hand, imagine the real world to be like the CP one.
You wake up, brush your teeth, then an armed helicopter flies the area. You get dressed, eat breakfast, hear a few shots,...
Then you pick your backpack and go to work. On the way - corp, prostitute, nomad, BD scroller, monk, microwave, and drugged visionary ask you to drop the job and join them on a quest for freedom

Welcome to Detroit!

As for the OP, obviously, NC is far less safe than probably any city currently in existence. There is a grander discussion to be had as to whether we are heading towards this exact dystopian future or not but it wouldn't be allowed on this forum.

Safer in cyberpunk. If criminals want you dead you can leave the building and they'll never come for you and if you're in the streets you can just drive 50 meters out of their aggro area. Same for the police, if you're a bad guy.

You didn't expect a serious answer, right?

i feel like a serial killer when i play cyberpunk 2077. a registered licensed serial killer lol since there is no reprecussions for me just walking up to certain individuals and dismembering them with all sorts of weapons

Lol

"CYBERPUNK2077 THE GAME VS REAL LIFE"

"Is it safer to live in the Cyberpunk2077 game world or the real world?"

I'd say it's completely uninhabitable by the garbage alone.
Not even talking about traffic, crime or corpo policy.
So you're talking about the real world then?

I think it depends on where you are in real life and who you are

In real life, some places may be more dangerous than Night City
For criminals like V, many of the real life place may be more dangerous

For me, it's obviously false

Yeah same for me personally. I live in a rural village in a functioning civil society with an effective rule of law. Even so, sexual exploitation, drug trafficking, organised crime, extortion and violence all exist in the society I live in even if I'm not personally exposed to them regularly.

I live in the outskirts of Pittsburgh PA and I feel the pretend world of Cyberpunk 2077 is much safer than the real world. Thanks to everyone for your input and output on this topic. With the in game garbage piling up and the main character being named Johnny, ( Sex Pistols anyone... London garbage strike when the Sex Pistols began ... Johnny Rotten )

Off topic , this game reminds me of the original Zelda game in the way of after finishing the main game , still coming back to see what i may have missed. And oh yeah, I missed a lot!

Actually the level of security is different in different places in Night City. The contrast between City Center and Pacifica is obvious

In my early teenagerhood I lived in a remote place in a generally safe city. The only unsafe incidents I encountered related to social security were that the access control of the flat was sometimes breached. Once when I went to school, the gate of the housing estate was full of police cars. I think there may be illegal gangs like pyramid schemes.
I heard that pyramid schemes gangs are common in my city, but I feel safe most of the time. Probably violent crime is more likely to make people feel dangerous

I suppose it depends on where you live but I guess/hope that in most places in the world, real life is more safe than Night City.
There are ofcourse some places in the world where I would choose Night City over those places.

In the lore, no its far worse than our world.

In game, yeah, NC is pretty safe. Just stand in one spot and you'll never have trouble find you. You could even have a little stroll through Pacifica without much issue since no gangs ever hunt for V. Have a ride on the NCART syst- .. oh wait
