Dandelion and the Uma spell... *plot hole*

If I get it right... Ciri has been with Dandelion before her 2nd visit to Skellige and the Skjall story.. At this time we know that Avallach wasn't turned into Uma?

So why Dandelion has known the spell after all? Why should Ciri tell him something like that if Avallach hasn't been cursed at this time?

The spell was cast the first time Ciri arrived at Skellige- in the wrecked druid forest. That's why Avallach was wearing the mask when he met Keira and asked her for a potion to slow down degeneration. Keira's potion bought Ciri and Avallach time to try to lift the curse, which is what she was doing in Novigrad. It's also why she was in such a hurry in Novigrad and couldn't take the time to look for Triss- the potion was running out. The curse was slowly progressing, and took hold completely after Avallach hid Ciri on the Isles of Mists.
