Dark weapons - visual effects

How in the world did CDPR think it was a good idea to turn the gamma and saturation down as soon as you draw a Dark weapon in Dark Mode? Now I can't see a fucking thing!

Seriously, I'm almost forced to use a Cat potion for every fight to be able to see anything during combat, especially in slightly darker places. This visual effect of the Dark weapons is stupid. How CDPR thought this effect would be cool is beyond me.

Well it's free...

But putting that aside, I didn't find it that bad. But that's because I only used the Kinslayer stuff. I find the rest of the game managable without Dark Mode items... indeed, Darkmode items aren't even that good hehe. :p

It'll nerf your swords slightly, but

unless you're on Xbox now?

I bitch-slapped Letho on my first try with my current Dark mode run. I'm avoiding the cursed gear altogether. Jagged blade with a couple runes and brown oil worked just fine.( all of them stacked for bleeding effect)

Yes I'm on Xbox360. I've never really played The Witcher 2 on PC because my PC sucks.

Well I mainly want to use the Dark Mode gear because it looks so goddamn epic. I'm a sucker for good-looking outfits and the Dark Mode gear simply is the best looking gear in the game.

Heck, the gear is the sole reason why I started playing Dark Mode on my first playthrough right away! That and of course for the achievement.

Well, you can always forget about the swords, there is still some other ones that are also nice while keeping the Dark clothes on. Personally I liked the Dark effects. I mean, is supposed to be a cursed gear, if NOTHING happened it would be weird XD

In the beggining it was kind of annoying but later when fighting in dark spaces, It was fun for me to try to beat the enemies almost by ear.

The effect would be fine if it didn't drastically turn down the gamma of the game. It's just so... dark... LITERALLY!

The effect would be cooler if it was more subtile with maybe a few sound-effects to give it a more special feeling, for example a high-pitched (almost ultrasonic) screaming effect every time you draw the sword at the beginning of a battle, that would be cool.

I think that dark effects suits those weapons...they arent "cool" effect but rather negative effects for using them , well at least thats my opinion.

As long as it isn't mandatory. I have enough problems already with my dog getting upset by the "dog death" sounds at the start of Claws of Madness. :(

Did they tone dark mode visual effect down compared to 2.0? I think it lightens the effect a little. I wouldn't mind it as much if they did.

I have no experience with the 2.0 version of the PC. All I can say is that I can't see shit when I have my Dark weapons drawn on my Xbox360 version.

I'm getting used to the effect now (I just arrived in ACT 2). I think I can manage with the effect as it is. Still, I don't really like it.
