Was the mist intended to take me where Geralt walked just before the bushes? There was no mist there, yet the mist still took me that's not fair! I live stream games in a no death rule set, ironman, dead is dead style of game play and it's important I maintain credibility to my viewers.

If you tell me this is a bug, I can continue my play through. If you tell me it's intended and that my death was legitimate, then I'll have to start over again.

Please respond as soon as you can, this is urgent! Please give your honest opinion. I love Witcher and will gladly start over, but I feel I got cheated. I would never enter the mist. The fate of me starting over is in your hands. I need to keep it real for me and my viewers.

I can't speak for CD Projekt, but I've encountered similar unexpected entries into the Mist. There are a few places on the edges where the boundary is not obvious. If you were on one of the higher areas, which overhang the gullies that lead into the fog, that may be the problem.
