Default in-game graphics settings vs GeForce Experience "Optimized" settings.

On the graphics settings, does the game base the Default settings based on your PC hardware? Because I looked at the "Optimised" settings on GEFORCE Experience and they're lower than the in-game default.

Default sets with to ULTRA preset, whereas GF Experience gives me a customised medium to high settings.

I think, in most cases gf experience set lower settings than games themselves
