well the new hitman should be a hit for all you silence types, and maybe even metal gear solid... and damn if i can remember it but there waas another game with multiple ways to take on a mission - it was one of those new black opsy, spec opsy, rainbow sixy type games. E3 is having a solid showing this year :)

I've read some press stuff of the new Hitman, but while it appears to be "proudly presented" and "new" and shit, I'm still not sure what it is they are trying to do with it. Some periodic free of charge online stuff's mentioned, but is the whole game about "random missions" that appear here and there with a loose "sort of" story line somewhere down there or what? Is it some sort of new style of masqueraded early access where you get a beta demo that expands as the developement goes on? It all sounded pretty ambiguous and unclear.

God. All this talk makes me want to put some more time into HR.

My issue with stealth is that when I screw up - everyone I haven't killed is now behind me. Also I'm out of practice for aggressive survival gunplay when things go south.

If I'm in FPS-mode, my survival rate under gunfire is pretty good in DXHR. If I'm mid-sneak and I get caught, I just die.

The Metal Gear games is a series I do enjoy, my first encounter with it was probably one of the old top down ones on NES or something. But the encounter with the series that stuck in my mind, that made it one of my favorit game series, was of course it's first showing in 3D, Metal Gear Solid on the Playstation. MGS2 was also really good, and MGS3 I also did enjoy. Not played the ones since, mostly due to me not having the consoles they where on, otherwise I would have played them.

Splinter Cell is also another one of those stealth games which I really did enjoy. Not sure which one of those I played though, since SC does land a fairly long way down on my list of game series I really like, so I never really payed to much attention to it. But... getting to listen to Michael "Badass" Ironside's voice was a huge treat! :D

Hitman is a series I do like the idea of, it does have all the elements that I like about stealth games. I have just not played it much, I think I have played one game a bit, but do not remember which.

Then there are a few other games which are stealth types of games that I have liked. In both Farcry and Crysis, my two favorit FPS game series, stealth works pretty good, and I use it all the time... although neither of those are stealth-based games. Where as Thief is one of those stealthbased games I liked, I played the first... but missed the following 2 versions... and I have not sunk my teeth into the 4th one, the reboot from last year. I want to... but, my computer can not handle it at the moment. Dishonoured I also liked, but again I have not sunk my teeth into it fully because my computer can not really handle it.

I so need a new computer, my current one is about 7-8 years old, and most of the stuff in it was not being made anymore about 6 months after I bought it. XD Unfortunatly I can't really afford to get a new computer as of yet, and uppgrading this one is throwing away my money at best... since everything in it would need to be upgraded to such a point where it would not work with all the stuff that is already in there... so a new computer is the better option compleatly.

I don't have that problem really, because I don't leave anyone standing behind me in stealth games... be it if I knock them out so they are alive but sleeping, and then drag them somewhere where noone will find them... or if I outright 187'ize the fools who try and stand in my way... and then drag the body to where nobody can find it. XD

And my gunplay does seem to be pretty decent, I usuall manage to win when things go wrong, unless I do something stupid of course... which I try to avoid. XD

And depending on the game, and the situation, I will relocate when all hell breaks loose. I only stay in a location if I feel I have the clear advantage over the enemy if I stay there, but if not I will leave and pick another spot, and then another, and another, and pick them off one or a few at a time, untill not a single fool is left un-MDK'ed. XD

For me Thief was the best stealth game and it really worked for me. Hitman was good but the pace was slow for me but i'm not really a stealthy player.

I think we will just have to wait and see about story lines and whatnot but i'm not expecting to be blown off my socks, I would like to see something that looks nice has solid controls so that when i play i have fun, i'll look at the other aspects later.

From the little I have seen of DE:MD (DX:MD?), and based on my own thoughts on it, I have a feeling that the game will be pretty simmilar to the previous one. There will of course be things that has changed (and we have already goten to see some of those changes), but I think that over all the game will be pretty simmilar... which I am fine with, I liked the previous one after all.

I'm almost getting Crysis gameplay vibes from these screens, especially this one right here. Not that it'd be a terrible merge, the two are quite similar as is. I'm thinking that this game's story is going to be a more impressive take than that of DXHR.

nah. They got the same writer and she decided to take a stance toward neutrality toward everything.

The story will be as bland as it will be pretentious. It will try to make the player think while making no strong points of its own.

In other word, yet another recipe for narrative failure.

Agreeably enough, the background details and overall story progression was not the easiest to follow or understand in Human Revolution. Just the basic idea of human augmentation and the fact that some people don't like it is really the only thing that sticks with you. But it looks like maybe they will focus on it even more in the new installment, so perhaps we won't need anymore than just that basic idea to get us through.

But at the same time that would be calling for an all out action game, somewhat like Hard Reset maybe, of course more developed with some lore inducing factors and features.

I don't have an issue with the plot per se (albeit the whole neuropozine thing is highly unprobable). You could argue that both the original DX and FFVII had more complicated plots (FFVII is really contrived at points). A great narrative can more then make up for a poor plot. Just not the other way around.

The lead writer of DX doesn't even have "writer" in her resume for marketability purpose. She has no opinion on augmentations either way, preferring to stick to a non-descript middle like so many other game writers. That's extremely worrying. She strikes me as a corporate social climber too afraid to make an actual point.

I just don't believe that the lead writer has the character for the job. Good writing requires force and supreme honesty.

One reviewer even wrote :" The real story is in the small gags and e-mail sent between co-workers" or something to that effect .That was for a fairly positive review.

True enough. I always thought their was something missing from the game. Whenever I wasn't in a cutscene, I just felt I was walking around on my own doing whatever. Their wasn't a whole lot of incentive to go do anything. I almost feel like I am alright with this though, because I feel a breath of fresh air away from the entirely linear action packed style stories. Then again, it could just be an illusion. It makes you feel like you have choice in the game to do what you want, but you are truly in a not-so-big world and eventually will stumble across the main objective by accident and like it or not, you have to do it the one way. The only real plot-based choice was at the end. Which will also be disregarded with Mankind Divided prompt for release.

Lot's of games lack incentive in their writing tho.
I've never been quite sure if it was due to poor writing or a desire not to "force" the player down a linear path.

Heh... I reinstalled DX:HR two days ago to start playing that again. :D Clearly it is not the original and all... but I figured I still wanted to play DX:HR because I liked it, and because I did not finish it the first time around (which was not the games fault in any way... I just don't tend to finish many games these days, no matter how much I ike them... also, I have never finished any of the old Deus Ex games either for that matter).

I am going for, as far as possible, a none leathal playthrough. And I am also trying to go for a full "Ghost" thing as well. So far I have only done the first mission at the factory. During it I took out every single enemy without firing a single shot (I choice none leathal, long range, equipment befor the mission), and I was not noticed a single time either. :)

Heh... I don't remember why I uninstalled it. But it was most likely due to needing the space for something else, probably another game... and DX:HR was just the next/first game on the list, and it was long enough ago that I last played it, or just the right size needed to free up enough space for what ever it was.

It was not made lightly though, since game I like tend to stay installed for a very long time... but I guess I am still a filthy heretic since I did uninstall it... XD

But hey... you still like me... don't you? I mean I am a Blood Angel after all... you know... the multiple savior of mankind, not to mention Earth and our empire it's self back during the Horus Herecy.

We as as dedicated and steadfast, if not more, to the emperor and the eradication of all of mankind's enemies as any other amongst the Empire of man. So what that we might not completely adhere to the Codex Astartes, and so what that we might be a bit... over eager and ferociously murderous in battle... we get the job done, better then most I might add, and in the end is that not what matters? No? :innocent:

You're a bloodthirsty, war-mongering chapter. We of the Imperial Fists are still surprised you have not turned to chaos, since the only difference the inquisitors like to note is that no horns are protruding from your armor. I like to consider you the Alpha Legion of the loyalist chapters. Loose cannons :p

But back to Deus Ex, I have all four sitting ready for install, but I am trying to play in chronological order, which sucks since Mankind Divided won't be out for a bit. I still haven't finished HR though, so that gives me some buffer time.
