Diagram: Wight? Anyone get this? Silver Sword

Somewhere in Act 1 I got this item. Im really not sure where though. It's a very powerful Silver Sword. Just out of curiosity does anyone know how I got this Diagram? If I ever play the Witcher 2 from start to finish again I want to grab this again lol.

I think it's right in the beginning where your ship is anchored in Flotsam (and meet Iorveth), there is a red glowing crate/chest.

Previous to EE, that chest always has the diagram for the Witcher's Silver Sword (the one to replace your sword from the Prologue). Maybe it now contains a diagram for a random Silver Sword? When I went through the EE at this point, it was still the Witcher's Silver Sword.

OMG this weapon diagram is beastly, it looks like a dev weapon or glitch, the pic it has for mine is a square w red, blue n pink. heres the stats for the sword: WIGHT silver sword,52-57 damage , damage reduction on block +20, stun 7% damage dealt to gargoyals +10%, Damage dealt to large monsters +15%, adrenalin generation on hitting foe +1. Components required 6x iron ore, 10x silver ore, 2xtimber, 1x draugir claws, 4x nekker teeth. im playing on xbox 360 enhanced edition, im in the first act and i dont know where i got this, has any one else seen this?

I think this is just a random sword, you are just a very lucky guy :D damn with this sword you probably won't need to change your silver sword until the final act!

the only reason i dont think its random is because you see the lil pic for the diagram, i know its kinda fuzzy but its just some square color weel, its possible its random. also im NOT on dark and this sword goes toe to toe w the best weapons in the game, and its not on any weapon list for the witcher. Oh I wish a dev or someone who mods would come in here and say what it is.

The stats appear to match a new Act 3 sword called Phantom Edge in the data files. On how, where, why you guys got it in the first Act, I haven't a clue. The info we're able to extract from the data files doesn't tell us that.

I take it that you're going to drop it? After all, you wouldn't want to unbalance your game now, would you? :)

Exactly, and yes, it is most definitely a sword "balanced for" Act 3. It's not the first time someone finds an Act 3 sword during Act 1 - and even before EE, people reported sometimes finding an Act 3 armour in Act 1 - but I have no idea why this is happening. Is this intentional? I can't see how it could be, as you have pointed out yourself that the sword is incredibly powerful, and finding it in the beginning of the game pretty much obliterates the game's difficulty.

I'm attempting to gather data on these new items in this thread in case you stumble over something else.

I got a save file starting in Chapter 2 with it. It had to be during the Prologue when i got it.

Old post, but this might be helpful (mild spoilers ahead):

Found it in a chest on the ground floor of the tower in Flotsam harbour where you have to save elven women (Iorweth's path). Go there before the end of chapter 1, so you don't have to deal with fire. Don't know if it's random, but I wouldn't call it a gamebreaking sword, since you need Draugir's Claws to finish it (yeah, that's an ingredient you get from quite a rare opponent in chapter 2 ;)/> ). So you can't really use it 'till the end of 2nd chapter / chapter 3. And there is no colorful icon for me (seems it was just a bug that's been resolved since then), it's just a normal diagram.

It's on a corpse in the cave where you defeat as bunch of nekkers in the Malena sidequest in Act1. The cave is by the ships just outside of Flotsam. You will find the corpses of dead soldiers in that quest. It's the best silver sword in the game.

Not quite: it may appear there, but where and whether it appears is random. There is no certainty at all that you will find it there or anywhere else in any particular game.

There are a number of these unbalanced sword and armor diagrams that may appear but are not certain to appear. I think they are only in console editions of the game.

This is somewhat related as I seem to have stumbled onto another ridiculously powerful sword in Act 1, which I have never seen in my many many many play throughs.

I am not even level 8 yet and I just did the quest for Malena. I found this sword in the chest next to the first corpse you see once you enter the cave, the spot where there is a big rock formation on the middle of the ground and you can walk around either side.

As you can see from the screenshot, I hardly have any diagrams as I am that early into this game. When I looted the chest I noticed it said "Diagram: Devil" and I immediately paused thinking maybe I had happened upon a cool trap I hadn't seen before or at least remembered. I was actually just saving my resources to build the Jagged Blade once I got back to Flotsam.

So are these freak swords really random or is some bug getting it this early? I don't ever remember seeing this sword in any other acts, but I do see on the Wikia there are "reports" this specific sword has been seen in Asylum in Act 1. I don't think I am going to craft it (at least now) because it just seems so incredibly over powered. I think my current steel sword is the Robust Cutlass. I guess this will be good for Act 3 because I never grind enough to create the dark mode weapons or armor.

The point... If anyone is interested in a save game, I have a quick save just after completing this quest.

They appear randomly, in certain loot containers. It's probably containers that have a "random" diagram, and these diagrams made it onto the random list with some non-zero chance. I've been able to locate containers with a random diagram in REDKit (and that's one of them), but my REDKit-fu is not strong enough to locate the list of random diagrams.

I think it's a bug, probably a leftover from internal testing. There's no gameplay reason for these to appear.
