Dice poker command icons blank! 2.0

It used to be prior to 2.0 that when you played dice poker for the very first time in the Prologue chapter (with the solider), the option icons (the circles) were always empty (in my case), no matter which patch I had installed. I can't really recall if this was a common issue out there, but I do remember reading about how it was happening to others as well. Well, since playing 2.0, the icons are now constantly missing. The circles are always empty for me and now I'm close to the end of Chapter 1. To be clear, when you are asked if you want to re-roll, the action icon should show "space" in the circle, but mine is just blank; then if your opponent raises you have 2 options, pass: "esc" and accept "space", but again, the two circles are just empty. Clicking, or pressing the corresponding keys still work, so it's not a functionality issue, but just that they are not displayed which is annoying.

Is this common, is it just a bad installation - what gives?

They're sometimes blank when I'm playing, sometimes not. I would think it would be either blank or not ALL the time. It's an annoying bug.

Never blank with me.

Only issue i have with the dice game is that each time i go to roll, my dice start off the right-hand side of the screen. Once, i wasnt able to bring them over the table in order to roll them.

Very fail.

I noticed that when the graphics is on low the numbers on the dices are hard to figure out, been meaning to point this out since the game release...

Hey,

when using the PC controls, I don't have any issues - the icons show up.

However, when playing with a gamepad both circles are blank and none of the buttons on my gamepad work essentially deadlocking the game.

I use the razer Onza controller which gets recognized by windows as a Xbox 360 controller.

I tried twice to play dice poker with my controller and I had to ctrl alt delete close Witcher both times. With mouse and keyboard selected it works just fine.

I hope this will get fixed in the future, it is a bit annoying having to switch over between the two.

Well the text has now appeared a few times, but it's totally random. I saved just before a dice poker match, and kept reloading after each match, and sometimes the text appeared, and sometimes it did not - so that's definitely odd! But at least it's not totally broken as I started thinking that it might have been.

I used to have this issue all the time. Haven't played poker since 2.0

Yup happens most of the time. I wouldn't mind so much but I can't even use the space bar to accept a bet.

I can't play any poker games at all... I can highlight the dice and choose which ones to re-roll, but after that I can't do anything. No rerolling, and i can't even exit the poker game (or the game itself: pressing Esc or "start" does nothing at this point)

I'm using an Xbox 360 controller to play, and haven't had an issue with Dice poker before the 2.0 update. I'm also getting the blank icons bug, but that has been there since a couple of patches in, and I'm used to it by now. Still, not being able to play dice poker at all is new and annoying.

I had this as an occasional problem before, but it happens consistently with 2.0. Only the text is lost, though; the icons are still there and still clickable.

Here you are. And actually, a minor correction to what I have written previously: as noted by others, when the icons are missing, the corresponding keys are also disabled - in other words, the only way to activate the command is by clicking on the icon with the cursor, but the 'esc', and 'space' keys do not work.

I have had this randomly in all versions from day 1 and still seems to occur in 2.0. No idea why.

Handy thing being able to delete your vote, as this has now started happenng to me. Its not all the time, but now and then the circles are blank. Hasnt stopped play though as i know what key to hit now anyway. Still shouldnt happen at all though.

I see. it's weird, you're right. Never experienced such a thing so far, but I guess it could be a graphical\text glitches. Does it occur the same if you reload your game?

Yes it does. In fact, if you observe the screenshots, they are from two different loads, but the same poker game. In other words, I did a quick-save right before I played with that character, but because he didn't raise the first time (so no option to accept or resign), I did a quick-load and played a 2nd round, and then he did offer to raise his bet. It's totally random though, but since 2.0 it has been blank more than not.

Please take note though that when the icons are blank, the keys normally mapped to each icon are also disabled - the only way to activate the function is to click on the blank icons. When the icons are not empty, the keys work fine.

There have been several topics about this problem, since it is also a bit of a gamebreaker when playing with a controller. (Since all inputs seem to cease operating when this happens.)

To me it happens during the prologue (Always) and sometimes during act 1, but in act 1 it seems to fluctuate a bit more.

I hope this thing will be fixed, since I really want to play this game with the controller, without worrying about stuff like this

The last time dice poker worked for me with a gamepad was patch 1.2. This problem has been around for awhile. I hope they recognize it and get it fixed soon.
