I'd rather the game produce a sound when the medalion cooldown is done.

As you go through the game you know what containers are lootable , but what I thought was neat about the medallion was that it's use fit there was no neon sign saying sword or armor here just a glow where loot is . I will call it the firefly effect that was especially nice too for the plants and chests that had important items that were lootable . I like the fact that loot was able to be seen yet not seen I have seen to much stuff where plants were different colors with the magical haze or chest dropped from your defeated fows . I would like to call it subtle but it isn't you use the medallion to find loot but the effects are subtle over all fitting to the story /environment trying to be conveyed because it isn't so distracting to take your attention away from everything . What I mean is you are actively looking for stuff if you use the medallion . I think it was well handled vs the glowing chest taking your eye away from the whole screen . The firefly effect points you to loot but doesn't break the immersion it fits . Tweak cool down maybe or tweak the length of time stuff stays glowing .

I think I prefer the medallion rather than having floating names. I had no problem finding loot with that. It’s more immersive and now the medallion actually has a use. In the first game the only it helped with is giving you a hint about Javed. Floating names would have made finding traps, the nekker nests and things like that easier but that’s not necessarily a good thing. You are meant to have to look out for them.

I don't think the TW1 system would fit with TW2. However, the medallion's ability to highlight things should be done in the same way; by which I mean holding the medallion key would keep things highlighted.
