Did anybody else think that The Witcher 2 could've used more sex?

Mod edit: In response to an old post that said

I thought that the sex cards in TW1 were a little over the top, but TW2 took it in the opposite direction. Having Geralt prance around gorgeous sorceresses and not even make a pass at any of them seems a little out of character for him.

If there's a Witcher 3, I'd like to see some kind of a middle ground between screwing everything that walks like TW1 and being a goody-two-shoes boyfriend like in TW2. Random peasant girls are unnecessary, but the most prominent attractive female characters should all be seduceable IMO. After all Geralt is almost as famous for his skills with the ladies as he is for his skills with a sword.

What do others think about this?

I think it had the perfect flow of sex as opposed to the first, which sex in it was like a mini game. I swear my friend(whose pc I originally used to play at first) literally thought the Witcher was about:

1. Sex
2. Drinking
3. Dice poker
4. Fist fighting
5. A possible combination of the above

Everytime he looked up to see what I was up to I was usually having sex and he would just shake his head. When the second game came out he expected me to screw and drink my way through it.

You guys do realise you're resurrecting a thread from 2011, don't you?

Eh, I dunno. While the sex in 2 was a lot more graphic than the implied sex we got in 1, it was still pretty hilarious how Geralt couldn't turn around without his giant cock hitting some cheap wenches across the face every 15 minutes - made him seem like the ultimate pimp. Anyway, it doesn't matter that much to me but if they just keep it around the same amount of erotic content that they had in 2, it will probably be fine.

Having "sex" in a title is very eye catching. Especially when it's about having more of it.

Nope. Sex should be there when it makes sense. I can't really imagine books Geralt to use whorehouse. Or was he? I can't remember, but im pretty sure he wasn't nearly as active sexually as he was in the games. I'd say add more philosophical conversations like in this dialogue.

All in all, less sex more good writing.

No, but few scene of sex in books can really be more explicits than a pornographic description.

I can remember Frigilla and Geralt among a messy pile of books
And of course, Spawoski doesn't aviod sex and he has no problem to mention it the right context, not abusing of it.

In an ideal world, you'd be able to approach any person in the game and interact with them for as much as you'd liked. Whether that means romance, sex, a discussion on politics, or a stroll in the woods.

But that's the ideal world, and it ain't gonna happen. For every dollar spent on making more 'romance options', one dollar is taken away from other things. So I'd have to say that the healthy amount of sex/romance we got in TW2 is enough for TW3 as well.

Not that big an issue, but it's going to hit problems if people start to reply to posts from 2011, so I'm splitting this off into a new thread.

I'm not sure about the amount of sex, but I really don't like that they're going for a more "romantic" direction for the sex scenes. More lust and less love please. Also, beautiful paintings are better content than animated scenes, I think, for sex in a video game (judging from the witcher 2 scenes apart from the rose of remembrance). Maybe just try to get rid of the trading card appearance to appease the easily offended? I know it won't happen but whatever.

btw. can we have a video of the mocap for the sex scenes too? I wanna to see if they're as skilled as the swordmaster~

At the end of a tale, and he was invited. Got the idea he went along mostly to see the reaction at the brothel when several nonhumans and the rough equivalent of inquisitor/spy master arrived together.

They chose quality over quantity (though it still wasn't little by any means) and I think that was the right decision.

It even corresponds to the flow of the books. In the short stories Geralt had quite a few offhand sexual encounters, but as the story progressed through the novels he only seemed to get involved with women that were very special and close to him.

As long as there is an option not to have sex, or not to get deep into commitment with any NPC I am fine with any amount. I have enough of it in real life, and I need no virtual substitute. So I am more for a possibility to keep any woman in a game, be that Triss or Yen, at arm's length until I want to go for it. But if in TW3 I can potentially screw everything that has natural apertures, I wouldn't be against it as long as it is up to me.

Utterly agree with this man/woman. I'd gladly skip on all the sex scenes in both games for more mature, intellectual and thought provoking discussions with deep characters. I mean has this forum turned into BSN all of a sudden? Are we gonna start whining about not being able to fuck some girl rather than focus on asking for refined gameplay and well developed plots? Is that really your priority?

For me, the fact that people actually put such emphasis on sex is childish. If it makes sense within the context of the story, then yeah great. I suppose. But to put it in just to please you, is pretty repugnant.

I don't think OP was being serious, he's probably having a laugh. As it concerns sex in W2, it's nice to see your character have a life, but it's not really personally gratifying. I don't see how adding in more sex in this game is going to resolve whatever issue you had that made you want to ask for it. Like everyone is saying- sex in games only makes sense in context. If Geralt was a player, or the witcher was a sex game, it would make sense to have lots of it in there, otherwise it creates a confusing, unnecessary tangent in game play.

Actually I was pretty pleased with the amount of sexual content in TW2, but I do not think that is should be less. The fact that sex actually is a natural part of the game makes it more enjoyable for me, just because I always felt that the content fitted the scenarios.
And to remove any doubt, this is not because I am a part of the lowest "age-class" that play the game. As others have mentioned, I would pick meaningful discussions with other characters over sex-scenes any day.
