Did anybody else think that The Witcher 2 could've used more sex?

What'd Letho mean when he said he "got her gander up a bit". I think Sile took a bit of pity on him or she found him attractive in a disposable way.

"Got her gander up" means "made her annoyed (or angry)" (if you've ever encountered a gander being territorial -- my grandparents had a watch goose, and it always stole my cookies -- the expression is easy to understand). It is not sexual, no matter how much you may want it to be.

You're not alone in finding Sile a powerful and extremely attractive character. The way they've drawn her, I can't take my eyes off her when she's on screen. But like the "Koviri Loner" of the books, she is not easily approached and icily unreceptive to those brave enough to try.

Does anybody have the Polish for this bit of dialogue? I would like to know whether the English at this point is a fair translation.

Yeah, but maybe they didn't want to, maybe they didn't think it would really make sense to have sex with Sile. And it would take from parts of the rest of the story.

I'm aware that they didn't want to, otherwise they would have done it. However, in my opinion the game could have been better if they expanded affair with Sile instead of Ves, who wasn't that interesting for me as a character.

@ gui
It means he angered her.

But I would not be surprised if Letho played along if Sile tried to seduce him.

EDIT: nijaed

Her english vo's are absolutely perfect. I consider her the most attractive character in the game aside from Ms. Lavalette. To me she is even more commanding than Phillipa. Why the fuck does CDPR kill these great characters...

I don't get what you're trying to say- isn't possible to keep both these women alive?

Etymology dubious - it also seems to be considered a corruption of "dander", and then starts to become an argument about what particular meaning of "dander" it comes from.

But yes, the end result is still the same. It means "made her angry".

I'll have to disagree with you there.

Philippa is the queen of my heart

You're right; it's doubtful. But if you've ever been facing the business end of an angry goose, you'll know how apt the dubious etymology is.

An office I consulted for had a flock of Canada geese that wintered on their lawn. I'd sooner deal with a hive of bees.

Not the first time it's come up. Some posters have seemed determined to interpret it as Letho got into Sile's petticoats. It's just a delayed reaction to them, I'm sorry.

No it does not need more sex in my opinion.

After what I saw in the videos it seems Geralt is looking to calm down, I bet it is going to have even less sex. Every time I see a topic about romance and sex in here, I laugh at the irony.

I don't. I just find it amusing that some people degrade those who like romances in other games, but don't seem to have a problem about sex threads popping out asking to screw Sile, Saskia and I can recall a Philippa one.

I agree with what someone else posted, if you want Geralt to have more sex, you could visit the Bordellos any number of times.

I think TW2 had the right amount as for TW3 it will have an extra Brothel or two and well that's it.

The triangle love story (Geralt , Triss , Yeniffer sort off) will be a part of the game, but i don't see Geralt running after the village women while there is a war taking place. Wouldn't make any sense.

That is why I find it funny, lest discuss who should Geralt(me the player) romance and ignore that maybe this characters have no interest in him, or Geralt himself. By the way "romance sux pervs, go play a datesim".

There was a Philippa romance thread? I do not even???? I rest my case.

The issue tends not to be others liking romance per say but their chief interest in games being that. If one didn't know any better they'd think BW games were pure datesims going by the romance sigs and several hundred page threads on the BSN when in actuality that content is at best 1% of gametime.

You mean like the 30 pages of this topic " The Yennefer/Triss choice in TW3"?

Well that's the impression I get sometimes from some of the threads here. Making sex to be not only something vastly important (and don't get me wrong, I like sex), but quintessentially part of what The Witcher is. I mean when they ask for sex with characters who are not screwable for necessary and / or great story reasons, then I question how much they care about these characters as characters.

Probably a vestige of TW1.
