Did I miss something?

I don't really get why I downloaded 10 gigs of enhanced edition, because all that it adds: few critters and videos of dandelion yapping. Ow, and a very short quest in Loc Muinne. Because projectRed told alot of crap, like new areas and other stuff. So did I miss something, where are the rest of the new features?

'Taken from GOG.com'

The Enhanced Edition of The Witcher 2 features new locations, like the underground system of chambers beneath Loc Muine and a temperate forest in the Loc Muine mountains. A batch of new characters is introduced to the Witcher storyline. All new cinematics and cut scenes expand upon the story, including a new three and a half minute pre-rendered cinematic depicting the assassination of King Demavend of Aedirn, created by BAFTA Award winner and Academy Award nominee Tomasz Baginski.

In additon to more than 4 hours of extra gameplay, improved graphics, new characters, locations, quests, 36 minutes of new cinematics.

don't know why it's so big either patching in assets might require alot of stuff? other languages? all the patches from then combined? or maybe CDPR was just lazy to compress all that stuff?

It's okay because it's FREE and it adds a ton to the story imo. The decor had a lot of impact on your last decision.

Also there's a totally different quest on the other path of chapter 3.

Hogwash! But cinematics are there, true...wait, what? Other path? You mean Roches path? Because I finished it on Iorweth's path and I got 1 new short quest in the tower. That's lame, so they say alot about choices, but it forces you to choose roche, because that's the way to see those damn new quests and locations, well done! *claps*
Huge disappointment, thought that they will improve alot of things, but...The first witcher, talents there...'nuff said.

Thanks for answering, Cheers!

Improve a lot of things? They fixed a lot of bugs, they added a new quest to each story line with some new characters for each, they added new cinematic, among other things all for FREE. Sure the 10GB patch is a little much, but they probably edited a lot of the game's code and therefore had to almost re-release the entire game.

How...how could you, why would you give me free content? What kind of monsters are you people? I demand that you carve your game up into cheap dlc's for us suckers and impose a draconian drm, that shames the spanish inquisition. I had to wait hours for the enhanced edition to download, don't you realise that innocents died because of this, because I'M BATMAN, and i'm worth it.

How could they, indeed! Releasing such an epic content that isn't even visible! The beauty of bug fixing, entire landscapes changed, marvelous feast for the plain sight! *Claps vigorously*
Since I'm a batman, no no no, I'm an Apeman! Hairy and righteous: "I rather pay for the game again, than download a huge ass of crap that does nothing."

I can't speak for the Iorweth path since I've only played Roche's path with the new EE content. The new quest is roughly about two hours worth of gameplay time, since CDPR announced 4 hours of new gameplay I assume the time is equally distributed on both paths which means that you most probably missed a greater part of the new quests on Iorweth's side.
Apart from that, CDPR completely changed the look of Loc Muinne at the end of the game and added some cutscenes, varying according to your final choices. So yes, there is in fact quite much bells and whistles for your 10Gigs.

I admit i at am a loss here . Free content with new cutscenes and landscapes and quests on both paths of the game new characters and intro and outro and you`re still not satisfied ? I guess NO game company can please everyone but at least this one tries . Wish i could say the same of other game companies .
Or am i detecting some trolling here ?

He didn't miss anything, the quest on Iorveth's path is 30-45 minutes long, depending on how much you derp around. This includes the optional room(s) where you can find the Vran sword.

The new quests took me about an hour a piece, so 4 hours was an exaggeration, but I'm not bothered. It was all free and there are numerous little touches and gameplay tweaks which add as much value as the new quests. So he is missing a lot actually.

He didn't miss a "greater part" of the new quest on Iorveth's path, which was the point I was addressing.

Then I stand corrected :)

Anyway, the cutscenes between the chapters and the summary at the end, which tie everything together, plus the cutscene after the credits and the new look of Loc Muinne add so much atmosphere to the game. It's mindblowing that it all came for free!

Ehm, the EE download was that big because you needed to download an updated version of the pack0.dzip file. Which is 10gb large...
