The story don't talk to much about Michoko, but at least, she have the lead of a faction (Hato) and a place in the Arasaka's lead. And whichever Saburo prefered, he didn't plan to let his place to anyone, hence he "worked" on an immortality technology. Yorinobu take Saburo's place after his death, only because it was the the "male" heir
