Different vendors pay different prices for your loot
Wow I long suspected of it but did not notice until just now. Near Hierarch Square, theres a couple of merchants and a blacksmith. The merchants also happen to accept weapons and armor, and I sold off most of my loot except for a relic sword, he offered 250 but ran out of gold anyway, so i went to the blacksmith nearby. He offered me 1100!! i guess at lower levels it doesn't matter too much, but if you're tight on coin, make sure you hang on to relics and named stuff and sell them to smiths and armourers.
