@shawn_kh In the Trail Cinematic, he's much taller than Vesemir. I can't speak for in game models for those two. I've also seen a sequence comparing his height to Yennefer's and she is MUCH shorter than him. The Emperor is only a little shorter, to my memory. So I suspect tw3 is more realistic in terms of character heights this time 'round.

On topic - I think Ciri is about the same height as Dandelion in that shot, with her in heels. And she was described as being tall and lean so no surprise to me here.

Dandelion looks like Carry Elwis from the Robin Hood parody Robin Hood Men In Tights.

Dandelion does really look young for someone around 50 years old

(if I recall correctly someone in the first books - was it Phil? - told him something like "Dandelion, you are almost 40, look like 30, think you are still in your early 20s, and often act like a 12 years old...")

How long has passed since?

Well now he looks 35yo...;) Not everybody looks as their real age.

There's nothing more real than imperfections and mistakes. Making the game looking perfect in all its details will make it too unreal by its perfection.

Of course. My point was more to remind people how old Dandelion is now and thus that him hitting on Ciri might be seen as a little creepy by some.

End of the off-topic.

He should be "just over 40", given that we are only about 5 years after the middle of the saga.

Only 5 years after, really?

Wow, I thought 10 years occured at least. Emhyr was much older in the saga than I thought then. Mostly, it's the way he says "she's back, after all these years..." in the SoD trailer that made me think a lot of time had passed (I confess I've never paid attention to dates) (and obviously Ciri's age difference between TW3 and the saga is of no help since she's time-travelling).

It's something like that. Less than six months after Assassin of Kings, which itself starts only 1 month after the end of the Witcher.

There are some discrepancies in the timeline ~ going by dates, the events of W3 are only 4 years after the battle of Brenna, but the descriptions suggest 5-6.

It's been a busy time for the north... (The Last Wish and Sword of Destiny cover periods over the decade(s) before... in an episodic way, while the saga novels are densely packed and overlapping timescales (with some looking comparisons to past events or more recent "archaeological & political narrative additions".))

When Ciri was concieved Emhyr was about 25-30's (I don't remember how he's curse took long). Book ends with Ciri 15yo. Add 5 years of games and you have his age. Beside Jaskier, he cannot look younger, we all know how power get oneself older faster.

Can someone post the map size comparison between W3, GTAV and Skyrim (those are the ones I remember)?

We don't know for sure. I have two concepts for the map size in W3, which depend on whether the 8km is the active core, or the full-extents. (I think it is possible the active core is only something of the order of 5x4km...)

More important than size though is that within each region there need be no loading screens (there are when you die, or if you fast travel (thus preventing the streaming from 'just happening' as you go... you can enter or leave all buildings and most other events without any loading screens... in a world which is "comparable" in size to the loading fest that is Skyrim). This is confirmed as being the case and is a huge thing... far more important than an arbritary "size", which ultimately is only a matter of scaling, artist time and money, plus filesizes. It isn't a technological marvel to double the size of a streaming world, but it is significant to increase the workable complexity of the world and still to be able to stream it (Novigrad is supposedly 300+ structures, ~1000 NPC and 100+ enterable buildings, all packed into a 700m x 700m (or thereabouts) town).

I must have picked it up wrong, I thought she was at least 18 by the end of the books.
I probably got confused by all the jumping through time and space that was going on.

Just noticed this for the DLCs, on the order page (http://buy.thewitcher.com/?lang=en&country=US):

View attachment 13891

Interesting little changes.

(Ignore the attachment -- having trouble with the manager archive.)
