I remember downloading the demo to DAII on the xbox and not understand at all the omission of certain peculiar things that happened with Morrigan at the end of Origins (hint, sequel); I mean she is not even in the game at all! I still love DAO Ultimate, yet now I even doubt buying ME3 which was unthinkable before.

I love Bioware. I love pretty much every Bioware game, including DA2. But...it is getting REALLY hard to defend them with pricey, day one DLC, and all the other marketing moves they make when compared to CDPR. CDPR makes a games as high of quality if not higher for lower cost, less marketing, and no cheesey DLC fiascos. CDPR has shown the game world what talent and quality can do over fancy marketing.

That said, I am super excited for ME3, DA3 whenever that gets announced, and i'll still buy every damn DLC that comes out, just because i'm a fanboy nerd. Bioware are still amazing. Just, compared to CDPR, they are a lot less impressive.

Meh.. all I ever disliked about what has been done is the new more "action packed" games that kind of killed the atmosphere from ME and DA:O - namely DA:2 and ME2 .
And really, it is just EA not Bioware that we should blame it for, it is what publisher demanded from them, they just had to do what they were told to. Of course they could have said "no" and of course they would, if only it was that easy. Money makes it all :p.
No hatred from me, I am just disappointed in the world, but hey games won't fix that. (well... wticher does )

It seems like there's a group of Bioware refugees here. lol

Origins was my first Bioware game, so I had no particular brand loyalty to Bioware but put a lot of heart into that game and met a lot of nice people through it. No regrets there. However I don't like the direction Bioware is going, not just with its games but its marketing, the money-grubbing monetization of every little scrap of content, and the manipulation to hook your gaming life up to Origin or else. It leaves a bad taste in my mouth which was already sour from the cynical way they used DAO's success to push a half-baked game on the fanbase and blame the "backward looking" fans for not appreciating it.

I don't begrudge those who aren't bothered by all that and/or are willing to swallow it. It's just too bad we can't enjoy the same things anymore, at least when it comes to Bioware products.

Am starting Red Dead Redemption this evening, I have no idea what to expect from the game, just hoping it doesn't resemble Skyrim or anything MMORPG-ish.

Well, let me tell you that you are in for a real, real treat!

RDR is on my Top 5 of all times list. It's not Skyrim-ish, int's not MMORPG so relax

Some people say it's GTA in the Wild West, but it's over-simplification to me. Yes, it is open world and has some GTA-ish mechanics, but the story and its tone are mature, dark and gritty. And the ending...oh, the ending. I remember finishing this game one evening, sitting on the floor, staring at the screen for minutes with tears in my eyes while the credits rolled and my wife asking "WTF happened, you weirdo?". "I just finished that game I was playing and I have to get myself together" I replied.

Your post got me totally excited and wanting to replay this game, but I won't spoil anything for you :) It has some really beautiful, exceptional moments that stay in memory. And an atmosphere that is simply one of a kind.

Well, now I can't wait to start playing RDR. I've been known to shed a tear or two myself, when playing games with a real deep and engrossing story. Unfortunately it doesn't happen often nowadays. Anyways I love your comment, now my expectations are very high, though. ;)
