Yeah, just saw it myself. That shit cray! Personally, I don't give a shit. Star Wars movies stopped being good after Jedi, the games are bland and the Expanded Universe is just pandering to the fanatical fanbase. Sooo yeah, good for Jorge. It's interesting to note how he went through all that trouble in his life while making the original trilogy to maintain control over his work, now he's selling it. Then again, 4 billion dollars? I'd sell my children for that.

I'm not a fan of Disney, but it can't be worse than Star Wars 1-3. ;)

If Disney does a bad job it won't matter since 1-3 well suck but if they do a good job like with The Avengers then even better. Best thing is Lucas won't be incharge of everything.

What the fuck? I thought Lucas didn't want to be any more Star Wars films after he finished Sith...

I don't see this going end well. True, Star Wars ain't what it used to be but I don't want to see it fucked up by the relics at Disney who haven't made a decent flick in ages.

Actually no, Lucas wanted to do 7 8 9 there were ideas too. But he would have just "ruined it further" and its a good thing actually Disney taking over it. They have a great thing with Marvel, we can have bit hope with this, no harm.

And Bioware is a complete other story.....

Frankly, I'll take an Old Republic movie series, with the Sith Empire!

As far as I know, Lucas had dropped those ideas long before 1-3, because he was able to put everything he wanted in 4-6 and he couldn't think of anything else to put into 7-9.

And I think Star Wars is an entirely different beast than a random Marvel comic book character. To me it feels a bit like the Tolkien Estate declares that some random writer is gonna do an official sequel to The Lord of the Rings, even when it's clear Lucas needed other people to make Star Wars is big as it is.

Not sure why you drag BioWare into this.

They're going to concentrate on "mobile and social gaming." LOL This ought to be good.

"That will be followed by Episodes 8 and 9 – and our long term plan is to release a new Star Wars feature film every two to three years."

Whoever thought of the Star Wars dancing thing should be shot... repeatedly with a disruptor, brought back with bacta and fed to the Sarlac.

I've got a bad feeling about this...

Seriously though, as long as Lucas is completely removed from all creative decision making, this is at worst probably a lateral move. If Disney is wise they will get Pixar to do a complete reboot of the series. I'd rather it not be entirely CGI, but I'd defer to Pixar's judgement on that issue.

Disney is not a good company in general (I mean the way they act). So I can't say whether these are good news or bad.
