District feature: Badlands

"Lovely" area.
Since my 'V' is going to be a Street Kid I think I'll avoid it as much as possible (till a later playthru with a Nomad).

The art, so far, is looking good. But at this point in time I wish it was replaced with in game screenshots.
And if the screenshots are not from the final game build have big red letters on them with "Does not represent the final look of the game". Or something along those lines.
It is sad to still see only concept art when we are not that far away from launch.
The concept art has gotten really annoying. "Hey, see how cool this area looks!? By the way, that's just a picture we drew. The game doesn't really look like that." Sheesh. Enough already.

A much needed thematic addition to sole urban dense (or suburb) city vibes, if you ask me, spicing the enterable environment up with other stiles and vibes.

If done "right", it will please me just as much as Fallout New Vegas (FNV) managed to somehow combine many different styles and vibes or settings in one universe and map. You had parts that were a desolate wasteland, others had a wild-west vibe, others underlined a tribalistic setting, other parts of the map were dry or desolate war zones, high tech underground bunkers, some parts (DLCs included now) feature a dark destroyed landscape, others a SAW-like casino heist, others were a science wonderland.... and then next to townships you had a larger city in the center with the casinos and suburbs. That's just the environment: The factions residing in all these different areas added a lot to this diversity, it was crazy how many themes were combined 'naturally' in one game and plot.

This is what I look for in roughly similar fashion (no carbon copy of course) in Cyberpunk, opposed to just a desolate wasteland or just a huge city, expanding the playable area to the area surrounding the city (and then of course some space trip I assume) is a good design choice.

It seems clear that we can already expect a diverse thematic approach due to all the different areas and factions, so I think I can relax and know I will get a similar FNV experience in that regard.

Won't go for a Nomad V first, however. I look forward to the corporate approach and, with this background, then getting into the Badlands later on as somewhat the exact opposite, a stranger, rather than someone coming from there.
