We shouldn't give them any ideas :)

I bet EA guys are reading this threat and writing down our suggestions for their next meeting. DRM removal for $200 (50% discount for five and more games if purchased simultaneously) sound especially interesting.

I know what you're saying, mariobros777, and I have to add: developers need to get out the special snowflake syndrome and realize they're competing for our money. There will always be other games to play. If there aren't, give up on gaming. Seriously. Anything is better than being a cash cow for someone else, fuck that.

@ dragonbird, new is always better, hence more expensive. Someone needs Corporate 101.

Haha :p

Works for Apple, but this is MS. They're being driven to the brink of destruction by those filthy, evil, sub-humans who have *still* refused to upgrade from XP. Obviously, the correct and best thing to do about this would be to make it a criminal offense to use any device or software that isn't of the latest generation, but until they manage to get the relevant legislation passed, they have to deal with it the best they can.

Hey, hands off XP! It is the best thing that happened to humankind since the sliced bread. If its use is ever outlawed, I'll start a militia group and defend it by force! Let's see how well MS corporate people will do against machine guns!

Haha, thanks for the laughs, dragonbird.

I have to say though, the Blood Pack DLC for Shogun is seriously appalling. I can't believe that exists *sigh*.

Well, yes, of course it was, but when you buy something you can't seriously expect to use it indefinitely. Without making ANY further payment to the person you bought it from. Where would we be if everyone took that attitude?

And on a practical level, how can you expect MS to develop Windows 9 if people like you refuse to buy Windows 8?

And that's just silly. Where's the long-term revenue stream? What they SHOULD do is provide DRM-removal on a monthly subscription basis.

Red = $10
Green = $10
Blue = $10

RGB = $25

Enjoyed our game in black and white? Well now you can enjoy your favorite game with colors! For a limited time, you can get any of the RGB colors for $10, or all three for just $25.

Incidentally, we will be providing sarcasm and satire tags for $3 each if anyone needs them within the forums. Please be advised that making sarcastic or satirical remarks without using the appropriate tag will be considered as an act of war and dealt with accordingly.

"Irony" is considered fair use as nobody ever recognises it anyway.

But before anything, you can't miss the "DLC-HD package", the only thing which gonna allow the gamer to buy and store any DLCs.

25$ dollars = 8Gb allowed for download by player.
And just for this month: Unlimited download permission, for 95$ dollars!!

*Monthly $ 10 included.

At the same time, we do everything to provide the best experience and to be affordable, for all of our customers. All DLC options will have 10% discount for students, and 15% discount for retirees and veterans. For verification purposes a proof must be presented at the time of purchase.

Sorry, but I think someone has already advised that all DLC will be on cloud storage, thus also requiring always-online internet connection.

Clouds are free only up in the sky. Virtual clouds cost money to maintain. Our loyal customers should understand that this is done only in their best interests.

although I had a very good laugh reading all this, I still don't get the point of the poll or why created this in the first place lol :p

The dangerous thing is, we can even see this work in this thread. Look at the vote and how many people voted to pay money, to get other options. Of course they didn't really pay money, but still the real vote would have been not to vote on either and just tell the companies to fuck off.

That is how it works with real DLCs at the moment as well:
"Oh, I don't like that I have to pay for this and that, but I want to play it."
Or the alternative:
"Oh, I won't pay for this, let's pirate."
The real answer should be:
"I don't want to pay for this, I'm not getting it." And best case: "I won't even get your base game then, maybe then you will think twice next time."

But hardly anybody does that. Even those aware gamers, of which are many on this forum, have fallen into these traps, including me. And as long as that works, they will continue.
Thank god for exceptions!

Developers? Do you think that big companies are driven by developers?

Well the money to spend on thin air is pulled out of the same thin air by bankers feeding on the dream of something new and shiny to ease the pain. The only time this becomes real is when the debt has to be paid :)

You need to think of the big picture here guys... Why go for the small things?
First you need to buy the game for 60$
Then every 10min it cost you lets say 1$
After that the game is also cut into chapters (2 hours of gameplay (also included on the disc ofc)) each unlock for the chapters cost 10$.

Also at the start of the game there is a mandatory DRM check... you need to put your CC information there and then pay 5$ every day that you have the game installed.

Then after that obviously you should have other on the disc dlc... The ability to save, change options, use items.

But anyway on a more serious note... In the future we will most likely and sadly see more DLC scams and the worst part is that people will happily buy them and the games that use said things.
