Do i need to download the original witcher first?

Hey, a while ago i purchased the normal witcher online. Since then ive bought a new computer so i dont have the original withcer installed on this comp, now i want to get back into the game and start again with this new enhanced edition. Basically what i want to know is, so i need to re-download and install the original witcher before installed the enhanced edition? because everything ive read so far refers to the downloadable EE as a patch, which leads me to believe id need the original version installed also....is that correct?and if so, where can i re-download the original witcher? i still have the game registered to this account so im assuming i can download another version of it somewhere, but i cant seem to find it..So to sum up, my question is, do i need to go and redownload the original witcher before geting the EE, or does the EE download come with everything i need?EDIT: sorry if this is in the wrong area, i just saw the words 'tech support' and went with it.

Yeah, download The Witcher and proceed to update it to 1.4. However, I'd advise against enhancing it just yet. There are some pretty devastating graphical glitches in the Enhanced Edition that are waiting to be addressed.

Or not. The graphics problems depend a lot on your setup, the level of graphics you select and your personal tolerance for problems. I personally don't find the graphics issues that bad, and the enhancements in 1.4 (dialogue, inventory) make it worth putting up with small video issues. YMMV, of course.I'd say go ahead and upgrade. If you have too many problems, you can always go back to the OE.

Re-EDIT: fixed! Also, about these graphical issues...are the majour? cause i was kind of excited about replaying through this game with the enhanced edition, but if there are majour bugs included then that really sucks..

I haven't had any trouble with the graphics, really. There are some complaints about blur when shifting the depth of field and some issues with light bloom that I frankly don't understand, but nothing that's a game breaker. I'm not a video purist so I have no trouble with these things at all, but there are some people who find them troublesome. :peace:Edited to add: Over in the mods area is a hack that helps with the lighting problems at low resolutions. The thread is http://www.thewitcher.com/forum/index.php?topic=18336.0

The graphical issues are major enough to create the most lively thread in this section. A number of people have upgraded, and noticed various new graphical issues. While the extra dialogue is nice and clears up a couple points, I was fine with the original edition, as more things seemed implied, subtle, and suggested, instead of being obvious and plain.

ok thanks for the input everyone.ive upgraded to the enhanced edition and had a go, so far ive had no problems but im only at vizima at the moment, the dialogue is much better so far, i hope i dont run into anything to bugtastic as i seem to be holding up pretty well so far, suprising seeing as im on Vista too.The game set my default settings to the highest they can go, and while i have lowered some stuff i dont need, im playing on a 1280x1024 resolution, and so far no problems with it.SO basically im holding up pretty well so far, theres a little DOF blur every now and again but thats no biggie for me, the only glitch that would warrant a downgrade for me is a proper game breaking one, being a vista user im used to little bugs here and there...so they dont really bother me. Im hoping this means i should be fine, or maybe its just the calm before the storm..
