Do You Skip Side Quests?
Because of the current bug where development cards can't be used when resolving investigation cards, I find I've been speed-running through the game much more than I did previously. Specifically, this means skipping side quests that require leads to complete—unless I have more than enough leads that I know won't be used for my main quests—and mainly focusing on the main quest; sometimes I'll even skip easy to do quests like just going to a specific city, if doing so will require expending a few additional turns. Naturally, I pair this with not using the Develop action at all.
For 8VP quest cards, that would require 6 leads(I'm leaving Yarpen out of this post), you're getting about 1.3VP per lead. A single lead is worth 1.25VP for 10VP quest cards, 1.5VP for 12VP quest cards, and 1.6VP for 16VP quest cards. Compare that to the value of 1VP(3VP divided by 3 leads) for 3-lead side quests, 0.75VP for 4-lead side quests, and 1.3VP for 2-lead side quests, and you can see why skipping side quests that require leads can be more efficient and effective.
I find this tactic works best with Triss. Since her main deck is blue and is the safest deck, you can get away with not developing at all. A couple of the blue investigation cards will reward you with a random dev card, and certain quest cards for Triss also grant dev cards upon completion; further incentivizing the play-style. On the topic of quest cards, I try to pick ones that give a free investigation card upon completion, as a synergy.
The play-style of not developing and generally skipping side quests works decently with Dandelion and Geralt as well. Has anyone else adopted and frequently play this way?
TL;DR: Not using the Develop action and mostly skipping side quests is a viable play-style. Does anyone else play like this?
