I really wish there would be a function to turn of double tap to dodge or just remap it to different keybinds, since it has f*** me in alot of stealth scenarios.

well there's that but i suspect the cover system is also an issue (thinks your in cover and makes you stand up when exiting cover)

There is so much wrong with this game and especially with the stealth "system" that i can't even know where to begin.

And it's not just stealth, there is alot of stuff wrong with the game (hopefully they will fix most of them soon, it can still be a good game). I think they wanted to delay the game again but from all the advertisement they did they couldn't it afford and it's already been delayed god knows how many times.

It's just annyoing since it breaks the immersion and doing it perfectly without getting spotted.

There is practically no "cover" mechanic. You just have a crouch toggle. There is a small "peek around corner" that I occasionally see, other than that there is basically no special cover mechanics that I can see.

As to the dodging, the doubletap sort of works on keyboard, as enemy attacks actually tend to have a long wind-up time so you can time the dodge decently well.

The best way to figure dodging is actually working is installing the Kerenzikov implant, which gives you bullet time when you are dodging and aiming at the same time. You notice a succesful dodge better that way.

well it's the only way i could rationalize why my V somtimes breaks sneak mid walk when i use the crouch toggle and am holding W not start stoping

Well it sounds more like you are accidentally clicking the crouch toggle and thus standing up (which is the same button as the "cover" button I think)

crouch/cover toggle is c, the crouch/cover hold key is ctrl. pretty sure i wasn't hitting either key at least most of the times it occured. actually holding ctrl prevents this but my finger gets tired during long sneak segments so i use C

There are a couple of dodge remapping mods at Nexus rn. You might find something there that might alleviate the double-tap issue on gamepad.

www.nexusmods.com

Gamepad Dodge and Crouch Swap (Gamepad B Button)

[Gamepad] Swap Dodge and Crouch. Single tapping B for dodge, double tapping B for crouch.
www.nexusmods.com www.nexusmods.com

But I feel like there's just not enough buttons on the gamepad to map crouch, sprint, and dodge to each of their own separate buttons cause every other thing already has a function or 2. Though the KBM mapping is still kinda baffling as you couldn't remap dodge without mods or messing with the config rn. There's clearly enough buttons on KBM to accommodate single inputs
