Does 2.0 help with difficulty curves?

A big problem (imo) is that the game starts off hard in chapter 1, but becomes easier as you get into chapter 2 and 3, has this been remedied at all in 2.0?

I think so. I started playing it today for the first time and did the tutorial that is new with the 2.0 patch.
It helped me much in understanding the combat techniques. After the tutorial i played in the arena for an hour or so and that really helped. At first I could barely take down multiple enemies at easy, now I can do pretty well on hard. So if it wasn't for the the tutorial and the arena it would probably be harder to get a hang of the game mechanics. As for the later chapters I can't say, I'm at Floatsam.

This is my second time playing on Normal mode. It seems a lot easier with the patch 2.0 applied. I am still in Chapter 1. Looks to me like they did some difficulty tweaking.

They made the dragon in the prologue less likely to kill you, but i still think the difficulty curve is skewed the wrong way (i.e. it still gets easier as it goes on.)
