I am not saying I want to participate in simulated snuff, my example was used in a general sense but still valid in principle using your example. There are many more opportunities within reason to allow the player to experience the dark future that Night City is supposed to be. For instance, why not have the player experience and catch up to late 80's gaming standards of drug use instead of having "drug dealers" that sell legitimate medicine. That would be a good start in helping create an immersive feel to the game. As it is, this version of Night City takes whatever hope there is for immersion and beats the crap out of it in some dark alley that I only have access to thanks to my pursuit to see through the thin veneer and discover things for what they really are. Otherwise I would be oblivious and blissed.

Fine, it's not dark and dystopian enough for you, anyways I like it and find the setting and environment engaging and most importantly fun to play so that's what I'm off to do. Good luck and have fun finding your perfect dystopia utopia

In this world someone can literally hijack your brain and make you do whatever they want, hell, you, as a skilled netrunner have a couple of quickhacks for that. I am not that much into the story, but it looks like Evelyn Parker has suffered from that and you can actually see that? I mean how much dystopian can that get? Totally don't undrestand this whole there's no dystopia argument here...

I should be clear and state that my complaints regarding the lack of dystopian feel to the game beyond the violence is in reference to the gameplay outside of they story. Also, I'm not trying to say there is nothing dystopian about it either. Rather again as I've said, the player experience of Night City could easily be argued to be less dystopian than Rockstar's parody of real world early 2000's. There is dystopia in the game outside of single player, it's just dystopia lite as it is now or cyberpunk O'douls version.

i don't think they said there's no dystopia, just that it's lacking, so lacking that it's easy to say gta5 is just as dystopian as cp2077

Oh, yeah, for sure. But I don't find it lacking either and don't understand where such a sentiment is coming from just as well. Well, i guess, I'll quote Samara from Mass Effect:

"If there's 2 humans in a room, there'll be 3 opinions"

But I just don't get it :)

the actual quote is ""You are more individualistic than any other species I've encountered. Put three humans in a room, there will be six opinions." it reminds me of another quote thay may or may not have relevance, "assholes and opinions...everyone's got one"

And the more opinions you have and the stronger they are, the more of an asshole you seem to be even if you are not. Story of my life!

I absolutely agree with you. I am totally immersed in the game. I have over 40 hours and I am not even half way through the city. I never came into this game with GTA or RDR2 in mind. I came into this game with the great experience I had with Witcher 3.

And I have observed the NPC closely and have seen the many different interactions they have with eachother and the world. For myself, I have never played a game as immersive as Cyperpunk 2077. And this is coming from somoene who has GTA and have over 80 hours played on RDR2.

totally NOT.

The most immersionbreaking thing is lack of walking. I feel like a videogame character speedrunning everywhere like a fucking sonic the hedgehog.

Just add a toggle for me to walk the same speed as the story NPCs do.

I have other issue. I finished the game and done most of the quests in 54 hours.
I remember someone mentioned 177 hours gameplay.

I feel I'm following a good movie because of very nice moments. Immersed? Not at all, But I'm old and It might be harder to immerse someone as myself that already played everything there is to play since the 80s or already has deep experience in PnP games and TTs.
I might not be the target customer of CP77.

Well if you consider content all the grinding and copy pasted events that pop out in the map then yes, that's not finishing a game in its essence, it's called "you have a problem".
Btw I could have swalloed all that B.S. much better if the city was more interactive, it's just as TW3. Go from Point A to point B in emptiness and shallowness, with the difference that in TW3 nothing was on the map prior discovery and you had actually to roam around and some unexpected stuff might happen, this isn't the case. I laughed at Skill Up review when he said "NIGHT CITY CHANGES YOUR PACE; YOU GET A CALL AND YOUR PLANS HAVE NOW CHANGED". B.S. in its most pristine state of matter. He clearly didn't even understood what kind of game he was playing and just rushed a review.

I don't know if it's that I've just been waiting for a world that looks and feels like this (easily convinced by aesthetics, lol), or what, but I feel so immersed in this game, in a way that you get immersed in a movie just from watching.

The world just feels so compelling, there are so many tantalizing details that draw you in. Even if it is ultimately empty, my imagination fills up half the details, because my brain seems to be convinced that this is a consistent, real-enough experience; to me, this is the magic of videogames. I'm grateful for Cyberpunk 2077 for taking me back to that place of imagination, for bringing me that sensation I've been missing for so long, that I first fell in love with on the train ride into Black Mesa.

I agree, I think all the small details, like people calling or message you, you having to reply, the news, the city itself, the characters in general really draws you in, everyone have their own problems and so do you. Like if you help someone they won't just forget it, like mission done, but they might message you later on saying thanks etc. So to me its all these details that helps draw you in. And it is very well made. The more they can add of stuff like this, like new side characters, the more immersive the experience would be and since Night city is as big as it is, they could just keep adding stuff without running into problems.

And if they decide to fill it with more mundane activities then they could really push it far.

I'm loving it. The only thing that really irritates me is the forced underwear. It's not like I want to run around nude either, it's just knowing that forced censorship exists, even in the freaking shower, really pisses me off.

im loving the game. second play through already. you need to play the game in hard if you really want the cyberpunk experience. also saving up now for an rtx card. i really hope they keep adding to cyberpunk, their so much potential room for dlc, expac and even an online mode or co op type missions. this game may have some bugs, but so far no game braking bugs at least. i appropriate all the hard work cd projekt red did to make this game. since witcher 3 and mass effect trilogy their has been a void in my life for games and this game has filled that void for the time being haha.
