Does anyone know what causes this flashing/flickering whilst using charge jump?

+
This weird flashing/flickering occurs whenever i use the pause menu, inventory screen, shops or upon exiting a vehicle. It only effects charge jump.
Thought it might be the immersive first person mod but after removal it still occurs.
The video link below shows me inducing it on purpose because its that consistent.
Only way i can fix it is by reloading a save but having to do that literally every 5-10 mins is really annoying.

This is a video of me inducing it i've uploaded to google drive:

If you "simply" removed the mod, it's very possible the issue would still occure. Even more if you load a save on which mods were activated (not specific to this mod, the same goes for almost all mods).
To be sure, I highly suggest to perform a clean install of the game, start a new game and chech if the issue still occure.
If no > It's most likely because of the mod(s).
If yes > It's 100% sure it's not due to a mod and you will have to figure out why (drivers issue,...)

Done everything as stated.
Have used DDU and reinstalled graphics driver aswell.
Issue persists.

In the video it looks like the flicker is somehow related to the water reflection on the ground. But that just a guess.

In general, you can report the issue to cdpr support:
https://support.cdprojektred.com/en/cyberpunk/pc/gameplay/issue/1736/i-want-to-report-a-visual-issue (click on Contact Us to send a ticket).

It‘s possible though that installing a different gpu driver version might also fix the issue. Some gpu driver versions seem to impact the performance on some PC setups which could make visual issues more likely after a certain amount of time. Due to my own bad experiences with gpu drivers I have become very careful with new driver updates. For the current gpu generation new gpu updates are usually fine but if it’s a slightly older gpu generation new driver updates can be hit and miss. That being said, this doesn’t have to be relevant to your issue and its just one option.

However, at this point and without knowing anything about your pc setups we can only randomly guess. Contacting support might be your best shot.

im on a 5060ti so going on what you said i believe i should be alright with new driver updates i think?

Normally, I would say yes but now that I'm searching the internet for latest infos, it's not that simple apparently.

Looks like driver version 595.59 caused issues with fan control and was replaced by 595.71 a few days ago (even for new cards). However, it looks like 595.71 was causing other issues so a hotfix had to be released just recently (595.76).

So I guess it's either version 595.76 or the version before the issues started (591.86) that should be stable in theory.
But no idea if it's related at all to this particular issue,

Okay i have .71 and cant see .76 in the nvidia app 0.o

I've also discovered i can mitigate the issue for a while if I put double jump on, go outside the ripperdoc, jump afew times and then put charge jump back on.
However the issue always comes back again at some point. Usually after using the ripperdoc again, using a vehicle or any menu's still.

It's a particle effect from the puddle.

The car that nearly hits you? Watch carefully as the back tires drive over the puddle around the manhole cover. See the "smoke" effect that appears over the puddle? That's happening when you trigger the power jump. It's meant to simulate a fine mist of water created by the puddle being disturbed.

The trouble is that it's only on the screen for a brief instant, so it looks like a "flash" or "flicker." This is you initiating the power jump at timestamp 0:39:xx

And here's another frame at 0:47:xx

thought you might be onto something. tested on a bone dry day with no puddles whilst standing on a rooftop and could still replicate it :/
Can confirm its not caused by puddles.
This was tested on a new playthrough where i managed to get about 40 hours in before started to occur again.
I have video evidence if needed.

Regardless, it's still a particle effect. My guess is it may be a default effect for the super-jump. A sort of "superman poof" that happens when you engage the move. It's probably just more pronounced in the water -- I don't see the effect at all in the frames at the start of the video.

Particle effects like this are normally activators that trigger on certain surfaces. If you're seeing it on a rooftop, I'm going to guess that the rooftop contains loose gravel?

Either way, it's not a graphical artifact or malfunction. It's a specific particle that is being intentionally drawn on the screen in a way that happens to look a little awkward. You can probably confirm it by looking straight down and power jumping. You'll likely see it trigger every time on certain surfaces, at least. The effect may also use different particles for different surfaces.

It definitely is a malfunction because i just managed 40 hours without it happening at all until this video and before it occured for the first time ever i had played with charge jump for 1200hrs without the issue.

I avoided using a vehicle at all until this very moment just to prove my point.
As you can clearly see in the video the intrusiveness it causes doesnt happen until after i've used a vehicle.
I can also make it stop happening if i do various things like jump off a high place and trigger a stumble animation or by doing a lap of dogtown with double jump equipped then re-equipping charge jump. Point is, it should be there all the time if its intended as a feature to be so obtrusive. Evidently it isn't therefore i dont believe that its intended to be that obtrusive at all. I've also now watched another friend play the game without the issue im having.
Audio cut because i was showing friends this at the time.

You're simply jumping in areas where the lighting is not highlighting the particle effect as much. Then, you're moving to a location and turning the camera to an angle where it's highlighted more apparently.

It does not matter whether you get into a vehicle or not. You change location and angle, changing the lighting direction. This makes the particles more obvious. Getting in and out of the vehicle does not affect it. It's there in the video every time you jump before that, and it would have been there if you had just run over to the car and turned without getting in and out. Try it again, and don't get into the vehicle. If you're in a location on loose dirt or water where the sun is behind you, you will see the particles drawn on screen very brightly, creating the effect of a "flicker."

What you have proof of is exactly what I'm explaining. These are taken from your video. Here, again:
1773186280564.png

Obvious frame where the particles are clearly drawn on screen, extremely visible in the right lighting conditions.

It's equally obvious on the blue tarp just to the side:

It's less obvious earlier in the video while you're looking down but still clearly there. It appears when you both jump and land. Go frame-by-frame and you'll see it every time.

There's nothing wrong with your game or your GPU. It is a particle effect. Yes, it's arguably distracting; I agree with you. I'm going to leave it here.
