Does Geralt keep his memory in an import?

I play the game on Xbox, and I have a CPU nowhere near good enough to play TW2, so I won't bother getting TW1.

But what I wonder is if the stuff Geralt forgets in TW2 is the events of Witcher 1. I can't really find a good play through anywhere, so I'm in the dark entirely.

It makes no difference whether or not you import. Either way, Geralt's memory loss is for the period up to the start of The Witcher 1. He knows what happened in the period covered by TW1.

Ok, thanks. I couldn't tell if it was a creative way of covering up the fact you didn't play TW1 and Geralt only remembers the events after returning from the dead, or if it was just the main plot device of the two games.
