Does meditation still show the time of day changing?

I was wondering if this feature was still in the game. Here's a quote from RPS from a while back:

Earlier we’d seen Geralt meditate, and watched as the sky rolled around, and the weather transformed in accelerated time. It’s hardly a surprise when big budget games look incredible, these days, but moments like that nevertheless grasped me by the eyeballs.

I heard that the feature was removed from the latest build, and that now we only get to see the menu, without actually observing the time passing by. Is that true? If so, why remove such a feature if it was working before?

Didn't you get that effect in TW1 if you camped outside?

Anyway, could be for our own good, too much visual input can cause seizures !

(I'm looking at you Gwent)

Not really something I'm concerned about. That feature was in The Witcher 2, and it looked pretty fantastic.

Not a big deal. It's a minor thing, but it looks awesome and you'd think they'd keep something like that in the game.

I didn't watch all of the Precious Cargo video, and it does indeed look like it happens behind the scenes while you're in the menu. That sucks, but what ca you do....

There is a possibility it is available in the PC version.

In TW2 the PC version had it but the Xbox version didn't. Probably due to technical limitations.

In TW1 there wasn't anything like that, but there was in The Witcher 2.
Maybe in TW3 is changed because actually you activate meditation directly from the game menu, so you don't see Geralt put down on his knees to meditate.

Yeah, I always thought it was a neat effect in W2, so its a bit of a bummer to see it gone. In the original W3 UI there was a little window so you could still see Geralt.

You can see on this new gameplay that meditation works pretty well: https://youtu.be/IraOEpiix00?t=146
It´s the PC version, 60fps and a mission as an example. It looks amazing and yet it isn´t the ultra settings :D

I would really love for that to be back.

Let's hope they included it in the PC version, because honestly I can not imagine a reason why they should have removed it aside from personal UI settings or technical limitations, of which the former is fine since it is adjustable and the latter should not be a problem to the PC version.

I also think the artstyle and composition of the menu is beautiful. Maybe (I'm just hoping here) we can change the background and style of the menu? That would be awesome....

Seriously i like the old one more. This new one with the black screen when scrolling through mission-inventory-map looks bad :/ Just black screen. Why they changed it?

That's just Geralt's personal space. He is meditating, after all.

Ay, the earlier red interface looks so much better. However, unless they've got a selection of in-game themes, from which the player can choose, it's too late, now. Pity. . . .

I don't know about you guys, but I really fucking like this better.
I wish they never changed it to the now.. ugly dead boring black, it's just ugh...
Maybe a free dlc option?
The colors and art style is way more witcher feeling to me and already looked way better than TW2.. this new solid black looks like DAI & SKYRIM, and for the record both of those games sucked, The only things I like about the new one is seeing Geralts model and the grid system, but why can't they change the colors and style back.
It's so lifeless, it bothers me. Oh well

Ay, the character model is a nice addition, but, beyond that, not much else about the black is really appealing. I think, since they've mentioned that so many aspects of the UI will be customisable, a selection of colour-schemes would be a very good option to offer the players.

Yeah it really sucks, I don't remember who posted it.
But someone on here thought solid black would look better, boy were they wrong. lol...
I never thought REDS would agree and change it so drastically, from what it was.
The orens should be yellow like it was etc..etc.. this black and white is a neutral cosmetic visiual mistake.
I'm afraid it's too late now since it's locked, but a day 1 patch option would be really nice. ;)

Perhaps the spectre of regret -- or merely popular disapproval -- will sway them back to sense. We can only hope.

Well I doubt they will give the options on consoles, I'm screwed lol..
Should we start a revival poll, for a modified version of the new and old in harmony?

A very promising suggestion, that. I'd be curious to see how many favour the earlier red over the new black. Ay.

Ha!
You want to do it, or me?
Will you please... lol just let them know you want the original style/colors, meditation, look/fonts etc.. from E3 2014 but with the new Geralt 3dmodel and simple grid system that's in place now.
