By the time I was lvl 59, I thought that I would lvl up when I defeat the last boss.oh well. This time though, I'm trying again, and taking every quest I possibly can. But I'll start that tomorrow since I'm tired and I need to stock up on my gamer snacks. ]:->

Gamer snacks? I LOVE GAMER SNACKS!! What kind you got? I'm stocking some for when I'm on holiday after end of semester... then I'll take the lvl challenge on.By now I got... 3 six-packs of Coke, Pepsi & Fanta... bunch of chocolates & sweets.... and the best part, Beer Nuts!!

Talk about stocking-up. Usually when I stock-up for some fun-filled... okay, scratch that.... for some snack-filled gaming time, I find that I go over the limitwhen it comes to playing the game for an intended time period. For me, I finish when the snacks finish... ;DFunny thing about Beer Nuts: a friend set a 500g pack next to be with 2 cans of beer (both for himself), later on the beer nuts were finished, but the beer remained untouched.Along the snacks, I forgot to mention some Honey-coated peanuts, Cashew(for visitors while I'm playing) and the telephone next to me to order more from the other rooms ;DNow this approximate 80 hrs'll turn to 'bout 300 hours, if the snacks can keep up till Christmas. :peace:

I did this just for fun, but I never did count. What is the maximum number of talents you can gain?? I mean, the game did say that 1playthrough does not allow for all skills. :hmmm:

In the unmodded game no matter how high you lvl you won't get them all.You miss at least one bronze and possibly the same for silver and gold, can't remember exactly, at level 60- 61 it stops giving you talents which kinda sucks. There was a glitch in the original unpatched version of the game where you could get unlimited talents but it was glitching/cheating so doesn't really count.

Hey, guys, I just ordered The Witcher on Saturday after thinking about it for more than a year. I finally played the demo, and thought it looked good enough to buy. The thing is, I don't know if I am going to have 80 hours to invest in the game, and was wondering if it really does take that long to just finish the main quest. I know lots of RPGs like to advertise hour values that overshoot the actual amount (Mass effect talked about 40 hours, and I finished it in less than 15 without skipping any cutscenes or anything). So the question is simply is the box true when it says 80 hours is a good estimate to finish the game? I am really interested in the game, and the return of actual story (gasp!) into single player games and didn't want to miss out. Thanks in advance for replies.-Skarp

Should it really matter on how long the game takes to beat?

Yes it can take up to 80 plus hrs to finish.that with all 3 ending not counting doing ever quest your given. Take note this is not your ever day FPS that one beast. Its a game with a veary strong story line much like reading a good book.

Such games usually take 80-100 hrs for me to complete on 1st playthrough (though I seldom play same RPG title even twice). I just like to take the maximum experience with one hit. I think Witcher took up-to 100 hrs to finish, can't remember precisely.

It depends on, how long you play it for each day, if you do all of the side quests etc. If you play all day long and only do the main quests and beat the game as fast as you can than chances are, it'll take less then 80 hours. But what fun is that?

And... never underestimate the alchemy temptation. Once you know how it works you spend lots of time harvesting and preparing bombs, oils and potions with different sub substances of course ;D

I think its time I remind everybody of the fun factor. I still am not even close to finishing the game and am well over 200 hoursof game-play. The scenery and serene music in the background is enough to make me just wonder around the world... only the breeze is missing.Hasn't anyone just gone in circles just for the fun of it? Sure some monsters'll pop up, but hey... you're a Witcher. Well, its time to get back to it... ain't 'bin playing for some time now :peace:

I think I know what are your talking about. When I play BG2, I often leave my party standby, while doing something else (such working, doing housework...) just to hear them chatting and blabbing. In BG2 NPCs have very funny conversation, especially when you assembly the strangest team (e.g. Edwin-Aerie, Korgan- Viconia-Mazzy, Minsc and Boo-Jansen....etc. Jansen is fantastic!)

I just completed it in 72 hours, took me almost exactly a month to the day I started the game and I pretty much went through every side quest.the one thing that pisses me off is that I ended up choosing a side because I figured its like every other alignment style game where there is no true neutrality.. this damn glorious SOB of a game provides a neutral side and I didn't even know it lol, especially with everyone in the game saying " you have to choose a side"... guess that's what happens when you assume based on previous game experience.

Really? Well, I remember Geralt blabbing all the time about witcher's neutrality. So, you can certainly choose that side too, if you don't like both the Scoia'tael and the Order. It is not so intuitive at the beginning of the game, but when you reach the end of Act 4 you have your last chance. Unfortunatly, you have to pay the price of having both the factions against you. Eventually, also neutrality is a lesser evil, I guess.Cheers
