There was a thread on reddit about romance options that should have existed. Rosa Var Attre and her were the by far most popular ones but barely anbody remembered her name. It was always"that herbalist chick with the nice ass":laughing:
To be honest I don't think (most of) the BioWare audience has any issue with sexualised, of either gender
as long as it's not dumb sexualised.
A female fighter in armor does not have to be unfeminine,
but just no dressed in improbable bikini boob armor...
There are certainly posters on the BioWare forum, as here, who are madder than a box of frogs.
BioWare are not as extreme as some people would have you believe (eg 'BioWare makes you gay')
just as CDPR are not as extreme as some people would have you believe (eg 'The Witcher is porn/a banging simulator')

I am female.. 60 years of age. I have lived through some of the most sexist times. Heck I needed my husbands signature if I wanted to buy property or open a shop account etc when I first married. I just missed the having to leave work if you wed.
I could add more but I think you get the picture and no I am not offended with the game content. It suits the time frame. Makes it feel accurate.
Had this game been set in recent times or the future I would find it offensive.

I don't have the time to read the whole thread myself either , but I've read many the like before and seriously doubt theres anything new to the tired old polarised argument here that I haven't already heard, except the only good thing these threads throw up... testimonials from players like the above, which pepper these threads heavily enough to be proof in themselves that its such reasonable voices that see the truth of the matter.

Witcher is largely grounded on reality, homosexuality wasn't very popular in 13th century Europe.
And I think that the portrayal of that one gay man and the consequences of his orientation was well done as well in the game (TW3).
I guess, either the transvestite elf Elihal in the clothes shop outside of Novigrad or Mislav the hunter in White Orchard
I bet the Elf isn't remotely concerned with his sexual identity, at best its a minor consideration during his constant struggle to stay alive and save his people. Even without the inhospitable atmosphere for elves, many individuals would still choose not to define themselves purely or primarily by their sexual orientation.

W 3 is for mature gamers, so, no, the depiction of women in W 3 doesn't offend me. I think the Crones are an interesting slant on this whole debate. They appear as modestly attractive in their painting, ordinarily young naked women in their sabath revelries & grotesques as opponents. It's all relative to the game & context ultimately. It's fair to say that as the prime audience for video games was young males, a lot of earlier games over emphasised the sexuality of the female characters & there may be a residual hangover from that era in modern games. I've played all the Mass Effect games & didn't think the majority of females in them were sexualised. Only Miranda really & maybe Edi, if you're into the Cyborg thing. Although I'm a mature male, given a choice I will most often play as a female character. I find that a lot of male character builds are a bit too muscly.

Honestly, it's kind of refreshing. Coming from playing games like gta where women are just sexual objects, it's nice that I actually feel a connection to legitimate female characters and only want to bone them. Joking, but seriously, I do feel a connection between the woman I like and I'm immersed as Geralt so I don't want to stray from that, even though, y'know, boobies.
NO, why would it? Has no one been to a renaissance festival and seen the clothing that the winches wear? Or read a book about King Arthur, or any time period prior to the all holly god fearing, give me a break church. You can not take today's morale attitude and use it to base a game, that is not in this time period.
Not to mention I've never played a game that casually brought up rape as many times as this game has. I'm like you I get that it's of its time, and I accept that, and set out to murder those who do the raping. Problem solved.
