Hi there!

I plan to purchase a new laptop so that I can play The Witcher 2 and I want to know if The Witcher 2 runs on Windows 8.

It does, but I (and others) noted a tendency to crash on exit under Windows 8 beta. Seems fine, just ends with a messy dialog instead of closing up quietly.

Make sure your laptop has enough GPU capability to run the game. This game pushes the GPU exceptionally hard. Something like an nVidia 650M is a good practical minimum.
