Does Wild Hunt contain spoilers?

Does Wild Hunt contain spoilers?

I'm currently reading The Witcher books, which are exceptional, and I'm worried that game play will contain plot line spoilers for the novels. In particular, I'm trying to a void spoilers related to Ciri.

We wouldn't discuss details even if they were generally available, because spoiling the game for anybody is something we don't want to do. But Ciri's backstory is a big part of the novels, and important characters from her backstory are in the game, so it's not likely they could avoid novel spoilers.

Yes, it will. I suggest you delay playing until after you've finished the books.

The second game itself is kinda spoilerish if you haven't read the novels.

Do it. It continues to be very good all the way to the end.

I suggest reading the books before playing the game. I'm in the middle of the last book of the geralt saga (I might be wrong, but as far as I know "Lady of the lake" isn't even released in english?) and the game will definitely be spoilery in regards to the Wild Hunt and of course Ciri..
Besides reading those books is a perfect way of waiting until the game is released :geek:

Reading the books doesn't spoil you on the story of the games. The books are there to act as a backstory to Ciri, Yennefer, Geralt and many other characters that are in the Witcher games (and especially a lot of characters that will appear in Witcher 3).

Witcher 1 takes place 5 years after the events of the 7th book and it's the story created by CDPR with Sapkowski's blessing to adapt the universe of his books (with characters included). So the backstory of said characters is canon..what happens in the Witcher games is not technically (it's not what Sapkowski wanted to continue the story and his books are still coming out ..book 8 was just released this year I think..and has yet to be translated by fans).

Near the very beginning of the game (after the Prologue area) there is a HUUUUUGE spoiler relative to the end of Lady of the Lake. So you might want to finish the books first :)

The Lady of the Lake is not officially in English, but I got through a fan translation just fine. So that doesn't need to stop you.

It doesn't, I'm reading the german translation, which I find superb in the way it catches the world of The Witcher :)
Interesting how the english translation is behind, although there are far more english readers and a very good fanbase, if they even put fan translation together.. (sry for a bit offtopic)

@BurningNasferatu: I read all the 7 books fan translated in English and I understood everything (minor typo's here and there). I cannot wait to meet those characters in Witcher 3 and know their past. That changes my view on them significantely and what choices I will make.
