Don't need the game to think for me.

Don't need the game to think for me.

Not sure which, if any, of the sticky's this belongs to but I'd like to request an option to disable the auto-centering of the camera and the autosheathing of the sword and the ability to choose combat/exploration state so I can deflect arrows at range and jump/climb/open doors when an enemy is hostile.

I guess that's it.

Absolutely! I'll be horse riding or boating and turn the camera off to the side for personal reasons, and as long as I keep moving the mouse the slightest amount it will stay put, but if I stop moving the mouse then within about 3 seconds the game engine forcibly grabs the camera and points it in the direction I'm going. IRRITATING! I'm ok if that's the default, but would greatly appreciate the option to disable auto-camera.

But I hate auto-sheath sword the most. There is absolutely zero reason for that. If Geralt finishes a battle and did not auto-sheath his sword - what is the absolute worst thing that could possibly happen? He'd have his sword in hand, that's what. So what! But auto-sheathing the sword means the game uses some algorithm to decide when the sword is no longer needed, and that algorithm sucks my ass! He sheathes the sword RIGHT IN BATTLE, just because a super fast enemy temporarily went out of range for a millisecond or similar, then you panic and try to draw the sword but the game sometimes decides a threat is there and already auto drew the sword so now you hit the sword button in panic and cause the sword to be resheathed and then die while trying to punch some super enemy. Talk about breaking gameplay and immersion.

Seriously, how hard is it to add an option in controller options "Disable auto-sheath sword", one line of C++ code, maybe 3 or 4, and an if block in the combat engine? Probably about 2 minutes worth of coding to make thousands of people happy.

If CDPR fixes this I'll be tickled pink. If not I'll be disappointed but in that case I hope someone makes a mod to disable it as it is the most annoying thing in the otherwise amazing game so far.

This is the biggest problem I have with W3.

The game "thinking" for the player is pretty much synonymous to taking control away from the player. All the requests you made are already mentioned and already discussed in older, previous posts.

We all hope CDPR will listen and will adjust the game accordingly. :)

Sword sheathing: in a town it becomes bloody obvious why this is implemented: it scares people of, some nutcase drew his sword, let's get the guards and erase him.
Be glad you have auto sheathing!
You'd forget it one day and be overrun.

About this: Guards and the like should become FAR faster hostile in such a case.
But that's me.

Don't forget about making auto-draw an option too!
By now I think most people, myself included are able to make an educated choice on which sword to draw according to the situation and don't need the game to make that decision for them.

while in Novigrad, try to take out your sword, while no one is around and then walk through the streets...no one will react, they only react if you take out the sword in their sight/sound radius...so auto sheathing could get a disable switch
