I was getting this error with the patch I downloaded in Australia, but not the fileshack patch. Maybe two different versions floating around and the sites aren't identifying the US/Euro versions? I've got some many versions saved now I can't tell where they came from. I'm screwed as far as my ISP download quote goes.erlsburrow said:Feature transfer error-Feature: NotCensored-Component: file: Error:Catastrophic failure.
Couldn't help myself and just had to keep trying to get this thing to work. (Now up to 10 hours of tinkering.) Amazingly, the above workaround works with a Soundblaster Audigy 2 ZS card. (Of course, replace the Realtek mentioned with Soundblaster.) Don't know where I am going the find an updated driver for the SB, last Creative drivers were released in 2004.The following is the related error message:"AppName: Witcher.exe AppVer: 1.4.5.1282 ModName: mss32.dll ModVer: 7.0.20.0 Offset: 00d438f." Then message that the game has to close down.Edit: I found a fix to this particular problem I was having. Go into the game folder and remove the sub folder labeled "Miles" DO NOT remove the file mss32.dll (which is a duplicate of the dll in the Miles folder) that is sitting in the game file. Game is working a treat now with no need to mess around disabling and re-enabling the sound card.jonnychaos said:1. Disable 'Realtek High Definition Audio' audio in device manager 2. Launch Witcher; once at Witcher menu quit3. Exit Witcher4. Re-enable 'Realtek High Definition Audio' audio in device manager 5. Launch Witcher again. Game should launch successfully now. 6. At menu, select options and then sound options7. Deselect the disable sound checkbox and accept. You should now have sound.Rinse, lather and repeat each time to play.
Indeed, I got the same result - after I dealt with the .Net BUSINESS. I can only say that Internode is hosting in adelaide. http://games.on.net/filelist.php?app=539&menu=1Good luck, Hopefully things will get themselves sorted over the next few days...Mallrat said:I was getting this error with the patch I downloaded in Australia, but not the fileshack patch. I'm not 100% on this install sequence. When the 1.4 patch runs it automatically installs the language pack. This is what I tried.1. Run 1.4 patch with the language pack in the same dirrectory, used defult options with the 1.4 patch installer.2. Unziped the Uncut Patch3. Tried to run the English language pack. The bar got to about 50% on voices_3_00.bif then I got a error (-5012: 0x8000ffff)Detail button in the Error box gives me this:Error Code: -5012 : 0x8000ffffError Information:>Kernel\ObjectWrapper.cpp (498)>Kernel\ObjectWrapper.cpp (311)>Kernel\IScriptWrapper.cpp (80)>Kernel\ObjectWrapper.cpp (197)>Kernel\IScriptWrapper.cpp (80)>SetupNew\setup.cpp (657)PAPP:The Witcher Enhanced Edition - language pack ENGLISHPVENDOR:CD Projekt Red (http://www.thewitcher.com)PGUID:46B7D39B-7F8C-4BBB-87DF-9ED505249E7E$14.0.0.162PAK@Windows XP Service Pack 2 (2600) Non IE/Netscape 61608.184. I did backup my whole Data folder after the 1.4 patch but before I extracted the uncensored patch. I copied the voices_3_00.bif from the back up and replaced the one that the uncensored patch added. I assume this will give me everything correctly. The main concern is the voices_3_00.bif in the uncensored patch is like 650Mb but the one I have after the 1.4 patch is only about 480Mb.Maybe someone can confirm something for me to reassure me that I got everything right. In the transition movie between prologue and Act 1 where it shows the map of the Geralt's path to the village there is some text that appears on screen like the narrator should be speaking but I hear no voice. Is this correct or should there be the narrator speaking during this movie?waldo6877 said:Ok All. I had no problem Downloading the patch from Fileshack. This is how my installation went!1. Downloaded all content for the game.2. Put it all except for the extra content(Manual, Videos, CD Music, ETC.) into a single Folder. (Put Patch 1.4, Both Adventures, and language pack into this folder)3. Double Click the 1.4 patch and follow instructions. This patch took me 1 1/2 hours to install so be patient and not run more programs while it is patching or it will take longer!4. After The 1.4 patch is complete then double click your language pack and let it install.5. Registration is easy if you have a witcher forum account. Register using your Username and Password. Then type in your original Witcher Game cd key. Then you are done! For us NA/USA users you can still use the uncut patch! Just follow the following steps....1. Downloaded all content for the game.2. That's correct, we can't. So... we need updated information about eliminating the issues associated with censorship.Registry entries post-patch are different than what the community documented up through patch 1.2. For example, one step for one unofficial patch prior to TW:EE release documents that you can change the Language for US English (censored) value 3 to 1, then swap or rename the corresponding language *.key and *.tlk dialog files from 1 to 3 and vice-versa in order to get UK dialog. Now, post-TW:EE install, the US version doesn't even have the language 1 .key or .tlk files. This indicates that content was no longer just hidden, but removed entirely from the installer files so that unless we hack registry entries and find a friend on the other side of the pond to send files to us, we're hosed. Please correct me if I'm wrong. No, really, I'd love to find out that it's possible to play the game using original Polish scenes, voice overs, models, and animations with english sub-titles and english UI elements. The old unofficial uncut patches don't address all of these issues (though they will replace the cards and sex cut-scenes), and I don't know if it's now even possible to get all of the unedited in-game content.Eriash said:[size=14pt]Please remember we can't guarantee quality of the downloaded files from all sources other than sciagnij.pl
