Draft Mode 9.2 Patch Notes

Welcome to the Draft update!

9.2 introduces some important changes to the overall structure of the mode, such as:
  • New Logic - adding and removing packages during the run, to be able to evolve the deck
  • Restricting rerolling - reroll of the deck unlocks only after 1st match
  • UI changes - upgrading draft play menu and selecting the packages
Below you can find the detailed list of the changes to the existing packages, as well as the introduction of the completely new packages and core cards.

Each faction leader abillity is significantly increasing odds of getting Core Card from a specifc faction

Core Cards logic has been changed:
  • Each faction has 3 core cards unlocked by default (except Neutral)
  • Each leader abiliity is unlocking 2 core cards that will be avaialble only after picking specific abilities
  • Neutral still has all Core Cards available from the begining
  • Each individual core card selection decreases odd of this exact card being offered once again (though it's now possible to select same core card twice)

i still think enable a fee to reroll its better than just play one game.

If people really whant to reroll they will just enter in a game, and insta forfeit.

Also fo those who whant to play with their deck, it might possible to win 2 or 3 games in a row just bcause the opponent forfeits (unless the game try to search opponents who are at the second game too).

The rest of the changes are welcome, despite since the reroll "fiesta" i dont play draft anymore and dont know how its the game now

I think a timed reroll cooldown (5 hours maybe) would be best, because long time players most likely won't care that much about spending the fee multiple times either and a entrance fee would probably be bad for new players who don't have much resources.

well, what about the fee be with pownder? And also you have rewards and if you play all the matches its garantee you will have your pownder back. And if you win some matches you can also gain a little more pownder.

Even veterans player doesnt have too much powwnder to waste only with reroll

But you know you are an excession (i mean, must have another players with that, but in all the core, its minimum amount).


OORRRR.

Fee - spent 5 reward points.

In the final of the draft you gain 5 rps and some other prizes like some ore and pownder (if you win some matches).

Maybe in that way we avoid the reroll.

But also, maybe with this "small" change in the next patch is good enought to avoid the reroll

I hope they introduce some progression system in Draft, even if its unlikely i would benefit from it (full, collection, more than enough resources)

But what i also really want are some contracts for draft mode, just like arena had its own share.
 
It continues to be a mode linked too much to a strategy.
The old Arena was something different because it was a mode where I had to improvise with what came out of you. There were problems (some commander abilities gave a big advantage and there were differences in the number of gold cards of each creation)
but it gave a very different way of playing from the other modes present.
the draft instead takes the strategies of various decks to higher levels. In addition, there is a need for a reward system.
I don't know how much they play, but for me it's not at all inviting as a modality.
 
Without some form of reward system, I only use Draft to complete some quests that I don't want to do in Standard or Seasonal modes.
 
Any info about rewards? The mode will be useless to play if people are getting nothing. Rather just play constructed.
Wins have been counting for months to get RPs. What rewards would you be referring to? Once you are rank 0 there's no other rewards there.

I agree the mode nudges you to just play theme decks, except with double golds. It's fun, but the earlier draft mode was way more exciting as you had no clue what you're facing.

I guess he is referring to contract rewards. Haven't played Draft that much ever since something as mindboggling as triple Madoc was possible to play with it, so I have no idea if it has received contract rewards.
 
OK OK I like these changes but PLEASEEEEEEE, remove the 3 thinning cards packs (Roach, Riders, Maddoc, etc...). With 2 cards would be nice, like the core game.
 
I encountered instant confusion while drafting a deck. :p

Now to find out how evolving the deck along the way works in practice... and this deck I drafted sure could use some evolving. :LOL:
 
I loved Arena so much I still check this message board twice a week praying it will come back or my wished for changes would be made to Draft even though I haven't played Gwent since last November because of both of these reasons. Another sad day of my hopes and dreams being crushed. :(
