I think the main reason BSN went so crazy is because the moderators over there antagonized the sane people into leaving.

And this isn't even the worst I saw the mods acting over there. So when the sane people leave because they don't want to pay to be insulted by a company and the insane people can say and do whatever they want as long as it's pro-Bioware that is what you are left with. No matter how big CDPR gets as long as they have good mods that do a good job I think this, and any other site for that matter, will be fine. Well, to the extent any place on the internet can be haha.

That's really disgusting, I hope he is not a mod anymore, holy crap.

edit: just checked, he was fired last year.

Chris was the BioWare Community Manager, he basically was in charge of BSN, twitter, facebook, YouTube most other social media related BioWare stuff. He was fired but then stayed on as a volunteer moderator over there. So yeah he is still around, just doing it for free now.

Ah right, I've been visiting a site with sane moderation (here) for a while that I forgot what it could be like over "there." What I'd like to know, though, is #1 Is he the "End of Line" guy? Why would a company want someone who alienates customers still working for it, even for free? and #2 Why would someone who got fired by said company still wanna work for that company, especially for free? That whole situation sounds wonky : / .

I never touched the ME3 multi-player, despite hearing how fun it was. Addition of a similar mp mode in DAI hardly entices me.

No the 'End of Line' guy was Stanley Woo, a lot of people disliked him for the same reasons as Chris but I never found him to be half as bad as that guy. Though he is in the same boat as Chris, let go and then asked to do it for free instead. Why a company would put up with that behavior for years I have no idea, all I can think of is maybe no one high enough in the company knew about it. I mean it's not like presidents or CEO's of a company are often found on the community sites.

As for why someone would be fired and then be asked to work for free, yeah it does sound wonky but I know first hand it happens. I'm a photographer and I was asked if I would take over for someone that was retiring at a company that dealt with college athletics. A few weeks into the process they tell me it will no longer be a paid position but a volunteer position but would I like to still be considered for taking over? I polity declined but long story short, it happens. Companies get rid of long term employees because they have accumulated enough through raises that they figure they can get someone else to do the job cheaper or free. Too often they are right. You can only get someone so good for so long to do a full time job for free or cheap before they move on.

ME3 multi-player was fun, but last I was on it seems to have a few new bugs that I assume are server side issues and since they stopped handing out bans and not putting out any new content for MP I assume they slashed the budget for maintenance as well.

That's Stanley Woo, he was also fired. He was keep closing and locking the threads. If you created a thread which didn't include something nice about Bioware or their games it got locked down. He couldn't take any bad criticism, only good one.

^ On their site I mentioned the concept of not being spoiled ahead of time of who can romance who, and was a lone voice in the wilderness. If romance is so important, wouldn't you want to be surprised by it?

Anyway, the big news is this:

Just 8 ability slots. Laidlaw claims DA is now about 'planning ahead' for conflicts, and thus they've reduced the number of slots. Not sure I buy it, as this just means you'll be swapping them out more frequently. Or maybe the overall number of abilities is reduced? Hard not to see this as classic Bioware streamlining.

Wait, your skill bar of DA:O looks modded to me. I've just played DA:O a few days ago and I have WAY less slots available. IIRC 10 slots is the maximum in the vanilla version...

But I agree, it seems that abilities and skills got streamlined/downgraded in DAI (again).... :chris:

Also the minimap in the bottom left corner is a bad idea. It looks wrong there with the rest of the PC UI. It fits with the console UI which features two circles at each bottom side but I would have put it to the upper right corner in the PC version...

I'm so used to modding that game I thought that screen was default. >_< So if it's only two less, that's not a huge hit. Either way, I would want more skill slots than less. I also don't like how the character info takes up more space whereas in Origns it's more efficient and toward the edge of the screen.

The number of skill slots in DA:O has nothing to do with modding. Its your screen resolution. The higher it is, the wider you can slide your skill bar, thus more slots.

OMG, I never noticed that little lock key at the left bottom corner. I've played the whole game with only the "standard" 10 slots although I had a lot more space available to slide the bar bigger at 1080p... :wallbash:

Thanks for the information anyway.

But I fear that this kind of flexibility is either not wanted in DAI or not needed and I don't know which possiblity I should fear more...

Ok, so the issue is you're limited to 8 abilities in a given fight. Only the 8 abilities slotted will be used in tactics, and you can't swap them out during a fight. So yes, that's a major departure from DA:O

True but with the history of Bioware in the past few years (even) less complextiy isn't something I look forward to with a happy smile on the face, you know.

It's still a tactical (more or less) party RPG we're talking about...

We still don't know enough. Maybe they've reworked activated semi-passives that give a static buff so that they don't clutter the action bar?

So, finally some revealing of that much talked Dragon Age Keep import system. Or at least of its beta stage.

Looks actually pretty promising all in all. Didnt expect all those outcomes of minor side quests in previous games would be included.

Heres hoping CD Project is able to pull something similiar for us playstation and Xbox users in Witcher 3. Even half as good as that DA keep would be more than enough for me.

I have just notice that Alistair looks like Joffrey Baratheon (you can see it at 9:10). That's a very bad omen...
