I can actually prefer ascension to godhood than an alien invasion. The antagonist in Jade Empire who did everything to acquire godly powers is fantastic.

I doubt I will like the Wild Hunt if it turns out to be a full scale invasion. In fact, I will be angered. Because it would eclipse the war between the North and Nilfgaard, and I don't care how interesting they can make alien invaders, it's not going to be more interesting than the former.

Wild Hunt should be limited to a personal threat and that's it.

I doubt that will be the case, but CDPR is well aware of tired fantasy tropes; Sapkowski practically made a career by turning them on their head.

Then maybe it's about preventing them from invading, which is fine.

Because in all honesty I do not see how a full scale invasion wouldn't turn into a disaster.

They can't launch a full scale invasion without gaining Ciri and even then they would still need to either get her help or get a child from her.

What the story will likely be is about Geralt fighting to protect himself from the hunt.

Heard that Bioware have hired vastly more experienced and talented writers for Dragon Age 3, so looked them up and found some footage, looks like a definite improvement!

Yes, that's what I think as well. It is not going to be 'unite the galaxy to fight the reapers' version presented as 'unite the continent to fight alien elves on flying ships'. CDPR will never fall to this level. But something major changed with WH, because now they come on physical ships. I bet it is something about Ciri.

It was in several previews during E3. I didn't believe it, thought it was a mistake, but then I read it myself. So before the WH was a cavalcade of specters on skeleton horses. Now they come on flying ships, which are physical objects. It is a major change from anything we learned about them before.
