That female walking/running animation is terrible [and straight from DA2] and the Skyhold music couldn't be worse, what's with the drums. The rest looks pretty good, though I finally get what Nathan Grayson had in mind when he said DA:I denizens are pretty static when compared to TW3.

He's right. They all just stand around in their places waiting... and waiting... and not moving. Very "last-gen" though not much of a surprise given the game comes out on Xbox 360 and PS3 as well.

I'm not sure about the female running animation. Sometimes I like it, sometimes I don't. As for the consoles...they really should have just ditched the X360 and PS3, they are the weakest link and prevent the game from being truly next-gen.

Lol I'm sure the console players would consider it next gen. That terminology doesn't even really apply to PC.

edit: Oh wait, PS3 and Xbox 360... yea nevermind, that is silly. Move on.

I didn't even know the game was coming out on last gen consoles.

Seems kind of dumb.

That smirk she gives Cullen at 9:02 in the first part is just baaaaaaad.

It looks like a woman trying to smile through botox. Not to mention the "dead stare" is back. Oh, well... here is hoping that next ME will be next-gen only.

Meh, it's a massive improvement to Dragon Age 2. I don't plan on smirking with Cullen anyways.

I'm gonna have a really hard time imagining him being the same person, lol.

Lol nothing? Didn't ask why he was so different. I know why. Bioware does this regular.

Lol I think that's a bit nit picky, no? The smirk was weak, but the look of the characters, plus how good you can make them, it's impressive. I liked it. As far as looks of the game goes, the faces are the best thing about it. About one of the few things so far I can praise it on.

Though yea, Witcher 3 just looks more and more amazing, the more of it I see.

Yeah for sure some of the facial graphics don't look as good as the Witcher 3 demos did, but it doesn't bother me so much. Also my inquisitor is going to look way prettier so that will remove a lot of the weird face problems >:[

The eyes were static in some of those scenes. Robs any life the characters might have. Skyhold would be ten times better if NPCs had a schedule and walked around. I don't know why Bioware never tackles this. The more vids I see the more apparent it is that going cross gen was a mistake.

That is one thing I think wont be an issue. ME3 had preview videos like that too before the release and by release day that was fixed. It had other issues but static eyes wasn't one of them.

Yep, "next-gen" is not only about graphics. Oh well, maybe BioWare are different from DICE and will release a modkit....but BF3 is already moddable, just unofficially. Probably because it's a MP game. Since this is a Single Player game, If DA:I is moddable then I imagine NPC routines will one of the mods. I think static NPCs are a result of the game coming to last gen...God I HATE being held back by inferior hardware.

As for the facial animations I think about 80% of them are really well done but some of them are a bit weird, like that smile.

P.S Can someone tell me why Cullen is so popular?

Cause romance obsessed fans like him. I've seen on other forums some images taken from the BSN romance threads that are bat s*** crazy.

So why Cullen and not say Fergus Cousland or Loghain? Not sure, maybe more people found that minor character from DAO more attractive than others? Maybe a lot has to do with fan fiction? When it comes right down to it I don't understand these romance obsessed fans and what characters strikes a cord with them. I mean I never got the Tali obsession either.

Sometimes I wish BioWare would just remove all relationships from their games, if you saw the posts Ive seen you would know some of these 'fans' are well past the healthy interest point.

Smooth bastard.

Edit: I'm also confused about BioWare choosing to bring Cullen back. I don't feel he was established enough in DA:O to justify a return, and what little of him was established wasn't in such good light, let alone displaying traits befitting a commander. I think the role of the general could have been filled by a new character. But it doesn't matter too much - from that brief glimpse of him in the game against the Inquisitor he seems different than how he behaved as a warden in the Mage Circle. Good different.

Edit 2: Skyhold is really big, I'm impressed. Awakening set the premise of running your own fort, but it was fairly simple and without consequences that felt too significant, as far a I remember. I hope management and improvement of Skyhold will be taken to new levels. It's one of the main things I'm looking forward to (this, and the strategy war map).

The music is terrible. Isn't Skyhold meant to be my sanctuary (which will probably be attacked in the end)? The background tune has me on edge. I feel as if an attack is imminent.

It is a shame also that NPCs are static. Time to move past that. Skyrim's denizens weren't frozen in place (not to mention TW2), and it'll be 3 years old by the time DA:I comes out. Cross-gen isn't an excuse.
