Dragon Age: Inquisition

Hey, perhaps it's fun for those with no real life experience, but that still doesn't make it a good representation, or necessary, or even worthwhile at all.

Nope, can confirm. It's fun for those who've had sex as well. For one, I've enjoyed Morrigan's, I have several friends in person I know aren't virgins and who like the game and its romances, and I have multiple friends online as well across various websites who I know aren't virgins and they love it. Several of which have children.

As for my original statement, it's because FPS and Survival horror games are exciting and will get your adrenaline up. Especially if you play a survival horror with some sort of surround sound, or good headphones.

That one chick, Josephine I think? She looks pretty, but she also sounds boring... being amongst the nobility of blah blah blah and daughter of blah, doing blah for the inquistion. Pencil pusher.

And... I hate Leliana with a fiery passion, so that's a good thing. Though she's not as annoying if you're hardened with her, and I was. I loved annoying and making fun of her, lol.

Doesn't look very good for the straight males. I'll likely be going solo once again.

Ohhhh Josephine! Yeah she looks okay I hope she will be interesting but she doesn't look super hot in any of the playthrough videos...
edit: Hey wait what!!! How can you hate Leliana? She's so cute and funny ;a;

As for the rest, thats exactly my point, digital romance isn't sex, and yet what Bioware offers is only sex, theres no romance at all, and yes I have experienced it when I picked a seemingly innocuous answer in dialogue (to fenris iirc - i'm trying to forget) which had my toon immediately cut to a post coitus scene with him. Inane.

I think this is only the case for some characters... who, like people, sometimes are less picky about who they sleep with. But what you wrote above is definitely not the case for all of them.

It's fun for those of us with "real life experience" too. ;)

Ahh I see the point you were making now. But I'd argue that an adrenaline rush is not the same as a "scare" or "excitement"... a release of adrenaline is marked by the "fight or flight" syndrome, and at absolute minimum a 10-30 minute period of enhanced sensory perception. No game or movie has ever caused such a response in me, even when I've had that quick jump from a scary moment - these are intellectualised frights, not the physical ones caused by experience of real violence.

Thats fine, I'm not saying the way I feel is the way everyone must feel, its just the way I feel, and a certain amount of that is by choice. But to me that kind of behaviour - sleeping around, one night stands and such - still isn't what I choose to consider "romantic". Just sex, just biology, just pleasure, just hedonism, not romance. ;)

Play dead space or amnesia, lol. That'll light a fire under your ass for 10-30 ;) And if not, it's as close as you'll get to fight or flight. Amnesia, all you can do is flight, lol, and deadspace, definitely had some flight moments. Forced myself to play both at night. Sucks.

But anyway, we all know games are just simulators. Expecting more than a "demo" version of real feeling is expecting a bit much.

As for one night stands, it's not like the "relationships" have no emotion to them, though it's not like they're very deep either. It's likely why so many people do fanfiction, to fill in what Bioware left empty. So I definitely get not caring about it, as in this being a point to buy the game. That's definitely not why I'll get DA: I, if I still do. But I think the majority of people, when presented an in game option to get some in game booty will do so. At least once.

Oh she's funny alright, hence why I enjoy picking on her :p Her lisp, her rambling, her self righteous self important bs with that made up vision... she's friggin crazy. I had to really stress the suspense of disbelief to even let her come with me because she seems so out of wack with reality. I enjoy turning her down only for her to come again and ask to join me. Because I can make fun of her some more, lol.

Have they revealed how Lilly Alan glued her head back on yet? I'd still like to know how she did that.

Edit: Wonder if she's got a scar like Kurgan? Don't know why i'm interested in one of Biowares moronic caricatures, but i'd like to find out. You poor bastards who put up with that squeeing shit are gonna have to tell me.

Lol so I finally got round to downloading DA:2 and I can't even get it to load. It just gets stuck on a blank screen with music playing. Whyyyyyyyyyyyy

Ok, I'm confused. So humor me. What? Didn't she do some songs for Dragon Age or something?
@Princess_Ciri, lol maybe someone's trying to save you

@Princess_Ciri, one of my favorite things about Leliana is that you can date her and Morrigan at the same time, lie to her about it (She's really stupid), only for her to come back later and realize the lie, then dump her. LOL

That sounds mean. And it is. But I really can't stand her. I like to imagine the warden and Morrigan had a good laugh over it.

Well I did finally manage to fix it, after a few changes to the graphics settings and so on. I started one game and when the cutscene began, the darkspawn had multicoloured swords and no faces. That was interesting.
And, surprisingly, I'm actually enjoying DA2 a lot, I'm not sure why everyone is so critical of it!

That is terrible!!! Poor Leliana. She's so sweet :( she doesn't deserve that treatment!!!

I feel like I'm going to be extra nice to her now, just because the thought of other people being mean to her is too upsetting!!!!!!

(also on the subject of DA2, I laughed out loud when I saw the lowest difficulty setting wasn't "easy," but instead "casual." I've never been insulted by a game in such a passive aggressive way before. But hey I guess playing on the lowest setting makes me a casual player....hmm.)

I've seen it a few times in other games as well... didn't think much of it TBH.

PS: Noob!!

Quite a lot of people did enjoy it, who knows maybe even more than didn't, it's always hard to know since we tend to complain more than praise in general. I remember it's fast paced & exciting combat, but maybe that will drain on you as it did me, once I realised how repetitive and ultimately uninteresting it was. As a stand alone game it probably would've received less flak, I think most disappointment arose from considering it in the whole picture of Bioware & Dragon Age. Beyond how it plays, there are some very serious technical & quality complaints that can be asserted, and no doubt have been in this thread, but I'm happy to leave you happy with the game... I hope you enjoy it to the end, I really do !

"Grins" Honestly though people are casuals if they play it on the lowest difficulty. It's like narrative mode in ME3.

Honestly on a combat level I found DA2 more enjoyable then DA:O which was a boring, slow, slog fest.

Uh, forgot about narrative mode, that was one of the reasons that pissed me off not to play it yet.

IIRC Origins easiest mode was also called casual.
